I love watching this stuff. My granddad was a master mechanic for a logging company. He died when my dad was 15, and dad dropped out of HS to become the breadwinner for the family. It was depression years in the 30's but he found work. I grew up as a boomer baby working for my dad. We fixed all our stuff so learning to handle tools began when I learned to walk. Both my boys do their own fixing stuff and still get me involved. I'm slower in my 70's, but I still get stuff done eventually.
MAN your dad has a wicked engineering type mind and your community is SUPER lucky to have such a skilled man to help with local projects and emergencies. Incredible amount of common sense and hard work. Those gates are something ELSE> WOW!!!
Great gate fab! Sean, your Dad is a natural in front of the camera. Terrific explanation of process without unnecessary dialogue. Appears the newest member of 89 Built has been found. Sign him to a contract,
Sean, you have a pretty cool dad! I really love the family aspect of your channel! Keep it up! Takes some video of rounding up the cattle. I would love to see that! I am not a farmer/rancher but am fascinated by both!
With the right tools a man can build nation but even if you dont you can always make something work just takes longer. Thanks for the upload & have a wonderful sunday!
Your dad does a great job with not only his abilities in a fab shop or on equipment just to say a few, He’s a natural vlogger. He can do the camera thing as good as any.
Beautiful Gates ! Nice to see somebody that knows how to use a lathe and a mill rather than just making washers or drilling holes. Nice work on all the gate hardware too ! 👍
Thank you for showing us how you built those awesome Gates. You destined some cool locks and hinges. Hope we get to see them being installed and finished. Loved it keep them coming 👍
I can see where Sean gets some of his ingenuity and mechanical abilities from, Dad. Sean, you are a very blessed man with the family and friends that you have in your life. May you continue to be abundantly blessed my friend. Thanks to you and your Dad for taking us along and all the hard work that it entails. John here, photographing the beauty of the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.
What a clever bloke crumbs that's a big job for one person lucky you had the grandson to help with the welding 😊😊 The glasses look great they really suit you, I remember how sharp everything looked when I first got mine, I really enjoyed watching you make these gates you are one clever man and a handy person to know
Thanks for the video, those gates are huge, when I first saw them was when Sean borrowed you transmission jack and I thought those gates would have been sliders not swingers. They look good though, hope installation goes smoothly too.
There are some great things about that gate. Putting the curve in the square tubing is neat. Ahem, it would have been great to see the whole process. The cantilever on the hinges would be huge without additional support at the opposite / open end of the gate. Typically there would be a wheel or, there is a guy wire from the hinge post to the open end. Of course the hinge post must be taller. If that makes sense. Very best, Al
Sean, everything was in good hands in your absence. Your dad's a natural. Great video. I hope we get to see the installation. I am looking forward to your next video. May very best to your family.
Oh wow sorry Sean but your Dad Shane is the new star of this channel! Now we know where you got some of your talents from. Fabrication, welding, bending, and just improvising when the need arises. Thanks for filling in for Sean you had great content and explanations about what you were doing or going to do with this huge gate!
That is a huge gate. How much does it weigh? They look good, and the hinges are super heavy duty! Great idea! Your dad is a good man to have around. 1 heck of a fabricator!
Boy Sean it's easy to see where you got your skills. Your dad has quite the mechanical mind thinking most all that stuff up right on the fly. Great video!
I spent 14 yrs building fences and I must say I am impressed. My only concern is sag. Yeah, the mesh will help, but there is no triangulation. Beautiful work though!
Those are some huge gates your Dad made! Plus with the grease fittings they should open and close like butter! Can’t wait to see it in action. Especially with those hinges!!! Thanks guys awesome video!!
It’s like watching an entire season of a show, and then missing the final episode. Provide a short video of the gate install. Love the videos. Keep em coming.
Hello from Oklahoma. Like the channel. We were traveling a couple of weeks ago, staying in Mt Carmel. Slipped over to Archie's for lunch and your dad was there. I recognized him from the bridge video. He was kind enough to talk for a bit. Good luck with your channel. Bill P.
You got all the subscribers coming from fab rats as you can tell. This is the best way to start a channel bc you will get a good "ride or die" grouo right away.
HEy guys! I love the cotent. I'm really glad I found your channel. I've been a FabRat sub for a VERY long time and was missing you over there. I do have a recommendation for your production. I know its hard for dad to doo by himself but it would be quite beneficial to your viewership if you were to include a little more detail in the and fit-up. Just do the first one on repetitive tasks then zoom through the rest and start recording at the end of those tasks then beginning the next part of the project. Anyway, that's my pair of pennies worth. Keep it coming!
Holy Moly, now that's a gate. A lot of work. And it turned out amazing. I would really like to see it after it's all done and installed. Awesome video.
Just a thought but it would be cool to see you and Ben do a video. Both are great people. Just an idea though. Have a great day everyone. We have a rivet gun i use putting panels back on our ark factory stock car. They work great and fast
Dad’s definitely an awesome addition to your channel. Thank you, guys!
Sean, was sad to see you leave Fab Rats, but am really enjoying your new channel. Your dad is a natural in front of the camera.
That is one massive gate. I hope you share the installation of it so we can see it in all its glory. It's a work of art.
Wow your dad is a natural please keep him on the channel
Cool dad. I like that he shows us his mistakes and solutions to fix them. Nothing I’ve ever build didn’t require tweaking. Another great video.
Dad is awesome. The gate and lock handle is fabulous. Ingenuity at work.
Sean enjoy watching your dad projects you have an AWESOME dad ! Thanks for sharing Sean!

Very cool job, a lot of detailed information without redundant video.
Little fella loves his grandpa. He gonna be a heck of a good welder by the age of 10. Teach them young. 🇺🇲🇺🇸
Ur dad reminds me of the fabricators I've worked with over the years. He definitely knows what he's doing

Great looking gates - thanks for sharing. Rhett seems to be a man of few words, but he knows what he likes.
With the right tools a man can build nation but even if you dont you can always make something work just takes longer. Thanks for the upload & have a wonderful sunday!

Nice to see somebody that knows how to use a lathe and a mill rather than just making washers or drilling holes.
Nice work on all the gate hardware too ! 👍
Yes, thanks
Sir kudos to your father. I'm only in my late 40's and if I spent all day welding on my knees I would be done for weeks.
Those are massive gates! Looks like they'll last forever.
Hopefully as long as Whistlin Diesel doesn’t durability test them!!😂😂😂
Surprised to see a man of your Father's age so great on camera after only seeing him just a few times. Great shots and everything. Good stuff.
Thanks 👍

I could learn so much from your dad. I love building stuff out of metal. It fun learning new tricks.
I can see were you got your talents from.
Awesome Gate! My steel gate is junk compared to that one. I didn't realize how much metal grows in the sun. You've inspired me to build a new one.
Thanks for the video, those gates are huge, when I first saw them was when Sean borrowed you transmission jack and I thought those gates would have been sliders not swingers. They look good though, hope installation goes smoothly too.
Loved it, but I would like to see the install of that gate.
Your dad hit a home run ,loved the video, and craftsmanship!
There are some great things about that gate. Putting the curve in the square tubing is neat. Ahem, it would have been great to see the whole process.
