    This was very helpful. The way you dip is key to getting it right. The skin was not working for me before. Thanks

    What type of clear coat is best for this to ensure a durable coating? Enamel, lacquer or what?

      Hello, Sorry for the delay in responding. If you want to varnish the easy marble use a brushable water-based clearcoat. Do a test because not all water-based varnishes/coatings are the same.

    Hi, i use it on candle, after 3 days it's still not dry. I don't understand.

    • @MarabuNorthAmericaCreative

      Easy Marble dries very quickly into a film, but wax is inherently greasy so it’s challenging to get good adherence. Marabu does not recommend using Easy Marble on tapers or votives that melt fully with use, Easy Marble is solvent based and technically flammable, it should not be burned. Using on the lower part of larger pillar candles on the area that won’t be burned is less hazardous.

    Beautiful ! What happens if you don't clean away the excess paint from the water ?

    • @MarabuNorthAmericaCreative

      Robin Chandler - Easy Marble is solvent-based, it dries quickly into a film that sits on top of the water which won’t adhere to the next object you dip.

    As this is obviously a VERY thin coat, do you recommend sanding before proceeding to clear coat when working with wood? I can't imagine this standing up to any sanding.

    • @MarabuNorthAmericaCreative
      @MarabuNorthAmericaCreative  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Easy Marble is basically a film of ink that wraps around an object. You can add a sealer if needed, but it will not hold up to sanding.

    Can I use an epoxy resin over top of this?? Or would a dishwasher safe mode podge be better? I'm marbling tumblers...so a top coat of some kind is needed.

      Gettn Crafty - a water-based clearcoat works best, but test it first.

    Will marabu adhere to glass ornaments?

    • @MarabuNorthAmericaCreative
      @MarabuNorthAmericaCreative  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      FabFaithLife - It depends on the type of glass, some of the thinner decorative glass has a protective coating that makes it difficult for the Easy Marble to adhere. The clear plastic ornaments work well though.

    I bought easy marble last week, tried it today and it set as soon as it touched the water so i couldn't create a pattern at all. Very disappointing. I've just noticed someone else has had the same problem so I'll try to follow the advice thou gave him.
    I am using water at room temperature but the room temperature is hot at the moment so i assume the solvent evaporated very quickly. I'll try using more of the first colour.
    You mention that there are 6 opaque colours but only list black & white. What are the other 4?

    • @MarabuNorthAmericaCreative
      @MarabuNorthAmericaCreative  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are several tips in our FAQ on the website - you do need to work fairly quickly, have your selected colors uncapped and your object ready, stir quickly, cooler climate is better, and be generous with the first color you drop (it helps the open time of subsequent colors). Good luck and thanks! www.marabucreative-usa.com/resources/faq/#easymarble

      Hello John, Sorry to hear you are having difficulties. Easy Marble is a solvent based resin that works on many different types of surfaces. The water needs to be at room temperature. I suggest working with a small surface area on the water to start with and using the transparent colors first as your base. We have 6 opaque colors in the 22 color range, the rest are transparent. In the set the black and white are opaque. Make sure to drop enough of the first color to adequately cover the water. In a 6" diameter pot you'd drop about 10 drops. The thicker the first layer is the longer you will get to work with it before the resin sets and the solvent evaporates. Larger surface areas require more paint. Work fairly quickly and clean the stick that you are stirring/marbling with fairly regularly to prevent color clumping on it. Hope this helps. Thanks for your interest in Marabu Easy Marble.
