  • @johnmanthey2683

    Do you leave the safety grid in the hopper? I take mine out as it makes it easier to level the pellets when they want to cavitate. Also easier to get all the pellets out when changing pellet flavors.

    • @gavensgoodeatsbbq4162
      @gavensgoodeatsbbq4162  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I only left mine in because it is has about to do with the structural integrity of your hopper.

    • @gavensgoodeatsbbq4162

      If your auger will not turn you may have to takenit back. Did you by chance look in the hopper amd make sure nothing was in the bottom??? My 850 took about 4 to 5 minutes to drop pellets, my vertical less than a min, but if the auger is not functioning there is another issue. Call pitboss. 480-923-9630

  • @carlyreid9502
    @carlyreid9502 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    I did all the steps correctly and about 30 min into the burnoff process, I got an error for the igniter. I retried 3 more times and the igniter is not lighting. Very disappointed. The only thing they (pit boss CS) could do was send me a new igniter but who knows when it will arrive. I'm very disappointed because up until that everything else seemed to be running smoothly. I also purchased mine at Lowe's.

  • @crr52678

    We bought this from lowes, used twice and my man is concerned about the smoke leaking from door seal. It does it a lot at the beginning but seems to go away. This is his 2nd smoker so he's not new, but new to pellet & Pit Boss. He says it's holding temp which is good obviously, so maybe it's not a concern?

      @@gavensgoodeatsbbq4162 So you're saying you can start at 220, then 230, 240, 250, 260 all the way up? The one I got must have been the 2021 model as it would not do that> I gave it to my granddaughter. Now, if PB would make a controller for my Copperheads 3 & 5 I'd be in hog heaven. Thank you.

    • @johnmanthey2683
      @johnmanthey2683 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gavensgoodeatsbbq4162 I Like my PB"s. The only things that I had a problem wit besides the controller were the four fixed shelf levels. On the Copperheads & Sportsman's series 3, 5, and 7 you can adjust grate levels two inches apart. On my series 3 I found jerky racks the exact same size as the grates. I have it set up for six racks. The other problem I had on the pro was the ash pot. The concept is great but, I could never get it to fit right to use that little twist screw. I'll give you a little cleaning tip. Go to Lowes and get some Awesome. It's a cleaner liquid. When cleaning your door spray a generous amount on the entire door. Just make sure you have plenty of Bounty, or some brand. No scraping, brushing or elbow grease. If you do get and try it let me know what you think. I really appreciate the info.

    • @johnmanthey2683
      @johnmanthey2683 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gavensgoodeatsbbq4162 I went to your site and saw your tips video where said you might get the Brunswick. I think you made a better choice. I had a Loraedo and sold it. Personally I think the cabinet gives a better smoke flavor than the pellet grill. I also feel there is a big difference in pellet brands. I've used Pit Boss, Cusinart, Traeger. Never had a problem. Now I use Lumberjack. I do not use blends like competition, BBQ etc. I use straight wood, pecan, hickory, mesquite cherry. I'm trying some Lumberjack CharHickory. Ehh. They're ok. I really like my pecan and mesquite.
