There's not any specific build really. The most important thing is the way you play. There are many builds that can work in different situations.

Having tried out the Gunblade build after watching all your games, I don't understand why that item isn't in Riot's recommended items for him. It's got everything a young Teemo could need.
Haha yea gunblade is sick for Teemo. But there are too many other builds. And others that havent even been tried yet.

That's the only reason I could come up with. Teemo is truly the hybrid champion to end all hybrid champions. "Oh, you built MR to counter my poison? Too bad I'm still 100% scaling with AD because I auto attack you to death." Man...f*ck Teemo.

how do you determine whether to go frozen mallet or just full ap?
You usually get frozen mallet vs melee champs so that you can kite them for ever. VS Nausus, Illoai, Garen, Akali, Fizz, Darius, etc.

You can, she can dash to you with ult but you can still kite. You can kite any melee just some are more difficult than others so mallet helps. And when they change their mind after they see they are about to die, it's too late. No escape.
+Beastly Teemo but akali can dash 3 times the purpose of champions like alkali and diana is to burst adc

Oh yea, she can dash all she wants but with the extra HP she won't be able to kill you. That and you can keep dropping shrooms on yourself. Then she willhave to turn back to run but won't be able to.

One question: With the actual meta focused on tanky/bruiser champions on top, how do you manage to play top with such squishy guys as is Teemo? And how do you manage to play if there is no tank in you team and you are filling the "tank slot" with Teemo?
It used to be a tanky champ top. Also you can build Teemo tanky if it's necessary.
