  • In the early 1960s three special boys met in a home for children living with disabilities. They would face titanic hurdles but became one of the shining lights of the global reggae scene. This video traces their rise from the Mona Rehabilitation Center to the biggest stages in the world.

I have a cousin who had also had polio from childhood, so it was easy from the onset to relate to Israel Vibration as a tough trio of musicians facing life’s challenges while delivering very good authentic roots reggae. RIP to the departed.

I met Apple once. On the Forever tour. In like 2002 I was in San Diego and parked my car on a street and went out with a friend for a night, then went back to get in the next morning and I saw Skelly and Wise on the balcony of an apartment. Apple had left the band at that time. I did not want to bother them but I was very surprised to see them there. It seemed like a dream.

Decent documentary, but they left out a crucial part to the Legacy!!!! What about the EXCELLENT, CLASSIC, CRUCIAL Album by APPLE GABRIEL called "TEACH THEM RIGHT" ???? With the masterful songs called: PRAISE JAHOVIAH, MR. CONMAN, GIVE THEM LOVE, TOWER OF BABEL and GIFTED ONES!!!! This is a crucial oversight in this documentary that is missing!!!! Along with the Abyssinians, Israel Vibration and Bob Marley and the original Wailers-the Best Reggae Rastafari music forever!!! JAH Bless!!❤💛💚🙏🔥✝✡

😢I didn’t know two of the members had passed. And here I am @ 2 in the morning looking to see if they had any upcoming performances. I guess if you’re not doing anything negative, you’re not in the media. I really enjoy their music. 🎉 ❤They have Lots of great music though ..!😊 Still a blessing.

saw them so many times live. loved them. was never the same once apple left. he continued to put out a couple great albums. while i was mainly a huge fan of wiss and his material, i just was not feeling the two piece lineup and was not impressed by the new material they were putting out. too sad that it all fell apart.
edit... the line in here about how after their split all was good and respectful is way off. there was a lot of mudslinging going on between them on social media. mainly apple accusing skelly of being on hard drugs and that wiss was following in his footsteps. never once did i hear apple say it was about the type of music they were making. it was about personal lifestyle choices to him.

This one hits home hard. Israel Vibration is huge where I come from. We played their music in parties all the time, every night. When they came to play it was such a unique moment with my friends and my girlfriend (now wife). Such a connection to the public, such a vibe. Of the many shows I watched over the decades, my wife and I cherish 2 photos - one of burning spear and one of skelly. I remember he almost fell trying to dance. Much love.
