I work for the county road department and I go out shoulder mowing all the time. While our mowers aren't skid steers and we use deck mowers, not sickle mowers, I can vouch for the importance of paying attention to you mower. We are constantly destroying things, usually cable peds and sometimes signs. We've had operators get tangled up in guy wires for power poles and bring down whole poles before. We've ran into fences. Nothing like hitting barb wire that someone throws away in a ditch. Then there is the stability. We have counter weights mounted in our wheels and we still get those left tires off the ground occasionally. It's a fun job but lots to be aware of. Anyone considering buying one of these or any other type of side mowing attachment better have a good insurance policy. You will cause damage.
I have an eterra RT-20 sicklebar boom mower that is very similar except there is no case drain and the RT-20 appears to be a "beefer" boom mower. Mine also does not run off the skid steer electrical connector but has the eterra remote controllers and cables. Someone should do a video on these as well.
Most operations that deal with park and facility maintenance, roadside clearing and more have a Skid Steer already. An attachment that allows them to clear faster and easier is certainly a solution to many of their problems!
