He just became a free agent. In his last season in Japan he pitched to an ERA of around 1.15. He pitched one season as a reliever but all of his other 6 seasons were as a starter. It would kind of be like buying an MLB ready prospect. He's expected to receive a contract in the $30-50M range though he might be signable for less than that. He also wouldn't require the team to give up any prospects. What do you think about the idea of signing Yariel Rodriguez?

He also doesn't pitch deep into games. He usually wastes too many pitches walking batters to do it. I think the walks are going to eventually catch up to him and when he does start giving up hits the runs allowed are gonna start flowing. That will definitely happen at some point in the next 7-years. I know he's asking for 7 but at the end of the offseason I think he might have to settle for 6-years. Maybe top out at 6/$180M. Still... That seems like a bit much from where I'm sitting. He's not going to be able to keep stranding all these baserunners for his whole career. Walks eventually catch up to you in the end.
