What are your thoughts on the thunderbird after a bit of time? Im looking for a versatile travel rod to put a shimano calcutta 101. Will throw smaller topwaters and jigs, 1/2oz ish max weight
@colel.8675 hi I love it its a great rod and pretty versatile, f5 is better for jigs, f4 is perfect for topwater, I don't recommend a calcutta for a versatile reel if doing alot of topwater walking or jerkbaits it's a heavy reel and gets tiring but that is personal. A more versatile rod in that cast weight is the shimano expride B 610M
The 101 is pretty light (around 7oz I think) so a couple more oz than an Alderbaran. I’m needing a multi-piece rod, preferably 3-4 pieces, if you can think of anything in that size range
@colel.8675 yeh even at 200g I find it too heavy for to much jerk bait or topwater I prefer the metanium even 25-30g less makes a big difference also the profile helps, then maybe try the thunderbird it's perfect for moving baits but not perfect for bottom but it's works, as its a regular action but the blank recovery is quite fast
If its the f4 I wouldn't say mainly for jigs with the regular action it's better for moving treble baits but for soft plastic with a thin open single hook I've had no issues . F5 better for bass style bottom jig
No the f4... I got the f2 a month or so ago but only used it once . I tried making a video 1st impressions but session was terrible. Waiting for the fishing to pick up again to use it and make a video
Looks like excellent fishing. Thanks from the USA.
Thanks for watching man much appreciated 🙏
Nice to see that you use it for small jigs. Didn't expect that from a regular action.
Yeh i know right. Turning out to be very versatile 👌
Good Fishin' Boys! Cheers from the US!

Mooie combo 🤘
Thankyou 🤙
Enjoy bro 👌🎣
Thanks man
So would this rod be good for 3/8 to 1/2 Jigs

@@NetfishnChill ok. i use the P5 Super destroyers but been looking into getting some of these as well
@@WhitchurchFishing1 there beautiful rods
@@NetfishnChill yes i love the caftmen shift of JDM rods
Niceee man what lb braid you using on it?
I was using 16 until I lost a strike pro jerk bait haha now using 24 with maybe a little less distance if any and no lost lures yet haa
Hahahah awww gutted yeah that’s the reason I was asking as I was using some lighter braid on my medium rod and ended up losing a lure! 🤣😁
@@supremesauce1889 haha yeh it's risky business 😅 this ygk 24lb is very thin also so I don't mind its working well
Do you prefer the triza thunderbird or the 6'8 valkyrie
I don't own a valkerie 6.8 only 7.8 H but triza and valkerie both amazing. I like the handle and forgrip of triza more personally
What net/pole combo?
Daiwa 5.3m pole and spro flip net
this is F2-66xtz?

Had this rod but broke it t
Last summer was really good at weightless Texas rigs. Really want to re-buy it lol
It broke 😯 how . Hopefully that will never happen
@@NetfishnChill my fault line got caught on the trolling motor and snapped
@@bradwalters6221 ahhh damn man that sucks 😩 sorry to hear
@NetfishnChill ya it was shitty but I suppose it was a learning experience lol
Next time use small lures, like 5cm long, keitech, crazy fish nimble or allure.
