As I understand it (as an anime only) if not for the Reed Dragon having a special treatment as a direct agent of the Mad Mage, Marcille's ritual would have worked and they would have left.

But if you're interested on what I think, you can find it there! But to answer your question, I think it's great. One of the best long running manga/anime of the 2010's and hope to see it's return. It's simple but if you stick with it, it gives you some gas. I recommend it if you like the big three
dungeon meshi has my heart and soul. by far my favorite anime of all time and i adore all the characters. it holds so close to my heart
