I was born in 1981. I have a lot of awesome memories of my early childhood in the 1980s. The toys, the cartoon shows, the best classic 80s movies. The music! I still listen to 80s music on Serius XM in my Prius. 😂😂😂 My mom had the geometric earrings too! We went to the mall A LOT. I love this decade so much! Thanks for making this video from one older Millennial to another. ❤
Just went to 5 malls in 1 day just to pretend I'm an '80s mall rat! That's how extreme my nostalgia is for this decade! 🥰 thank you so much for watching!

My coming of age year decade! Graduated in June 1981, just turned 18 about week before graduation. So I’ve been there done that!! And… I WANT IT BACK!!!! 😎 Yes, the majority did all go workout!! Back then I was 5’2” and weighing in at 105 to 108 lbs. And I thought I was “FAT” back then. One ‘fad diet’ I remember doing while in cosmetology school in ‘82 was “TAB & FRITOS!! HELLS BELLS you could knock me down with a blast of a “Southern Thunderstorms”! Went out 3 to 5 nights a week. One club we went to didn’t close until 4am. Leave there, go home & catch “40 winks” then WAKE UP! Shower off the STENCH of cigarette smoke & beer that got spilled on you while out on the dance floor!! Work 8 hrs come home and do it AGAIN! Especially if it was “LADIES NIGHT” or 50 cents beer🍺 (this would be named brand bottled beer NOT draft for 50 cents) OR BOGO!! Walking around with 2 bottles of beer in each hand. Of course you’d have to drink the 1st kinda fast; to where they didn’t get “warm” at the same time. The 2nd bottle you’d nurse for 30-45 mins after downing the 1st. I wasn’t a “Yuppie” nor was I “Preppy”. During that time I was a “Rocker & Punk Girl”!! Concerts back then for ‘General Admission’ was between $10 to $13.50! Now you almost have to remortgage your home to see anyone nowadays!! As the saying goes…“These are the days my friend, I wish they NEVER end”!! Today, I couldn’t tell you 1 song in the “Top 100”. Still listen to the same music as I did back then, because the “music” (if you want to call it that) now… is just SAD.😔 Music back then was FUN, GOOD TIMES & TIMELESS TUNES that still stand up to todays “music”! ✌🏻
I love how you quickly addressed the obvious ugly parts of the decade in a humorous way! It's sad that nowadays you cannot say you like something without having people pointing out the bad stuff and making us feel sort of guilty for um just enjoying things? haha great video, thank you for making it!
OMG--this video is AMAZING!!! (New subscriber and fan here!) As a Gen X this hit my soul so deep. At 52, I still have my black jelly bracelet, 80's stickers and stationery, and a few Cabbage Patch dolls. Teresa, in the 80's, we would have totally hung out at the mall! We would have also read Seventeen magazine religiously, and wore one long dangly earring and a Swatch watch (so cool and edgy) and then hit Blockbusters on a Friday night. We would also splurge on junk food since a bag of chips would have cost us 25 cents.
great video.. always notice however all these 80s videos leave out hair metal/ metalheads.. these glam bands and fashions were Huge in the 80s..denim, leather, spandex, big hair, bon jovi, motley crue ratt... come on.. it made mtv and contributed greatly to the 80s fashion... 🤘🤘🤘🤘
@teresachaotic.corner there was a lot of emphasis on visual perfection in the 80s. In the 90s the economy crashed and we all went "grunge", visually depressing but good music. Most clothes in the 80s didn't stretch, which kept us slim.
I think what a lot of people get wrong is that most of these fasions were more Hollywood than reality. Most Americans were far less extreme in fasion for every day wear even if more colorful than any other decade.

The average American owned a house and two cars in the 80s. Now 34 percent do. We slid down quite badly in the 2010s.

That sounds amazing! Let's find a DeLorean STAT so we could time travel back to the '80s!
@@teresachaotic.corner omg I’m adopting you right now…

Omg I know right!?😁💝
'80s rule💖
Did you watch saved by the bell? It has that nice 70s to 80s to 90s vibe I think
I've seen so many reruns of Saved by the Bell I have some lines memorized😂

It was the Preppy Handbook not the yuppie handbook.
Funny perspective
thank you! 💕

Cindy Lauper not Lawford.
Could have sworn I said Lauper. Must be my accent😅 Thank you for watching!

Exactly, do not look at a John Hughes movie and think this is how it actually was.
