  • On a recent trip to Loch Lomond this chap came close to our picnic and was happy to be filmed. The bread we threw for him was also well received. August 2013.

Wow - I always thought the wallabies were a myth - now I will be looking for them when I visit Scotland and the narrows again in June 2014. Great video - congratulations to the buddy with the bread and the camera

I saw one in July 2014.I was told the best time was dusk in the middle of the island. I was fortunate to get a couple of pictures of one (bucket list ticked). I went a few times the following year and never saw anything.

Tried to see them last year, couldn't find any :( will be making another visit in a few weeks. What part of the island did you see this one on? its quite a big island, I wonder if the roam around the whole island or if they prefer certain areas?

Blake, the wallibies were killed about 3 years ago, apparently they were jeopardising the native wildlife.
I think it's disgusting, they've been there over 70 years, and all was well.

+Scott Stewart theres still some there m8, had a cull but not all were killed, Blake, your best bet is when the light is starting to fade, take a walk across the middle of the island and up into the hills, the days of them visiting camps are over though, sadly.

Have you ever seen the spelling of this island differently? One of my relative was doing research and my last name is Conachan and apparently my great great grandpa was born in Scotland and this island was named after our family. If you have any information that would be awesome!

I've heard that are some absolute scumbags who are killing the wallabies on the island and skinning and mutilating their bodies and for unknown reasons. What a shame, wallabies are so cute, why would people try to kill them?
