    I shook hands with him and his two sister in kennedy park where all the children were singing to welcome him. Remember cycling home and the most awful storm with lighting flashing around my bike and i was terrified but happy.!!

    I have just a question : what is the Albatros company JFK is talking about ? and what was John D Kelly's job ?

      Albatros was a factory in New Ross producing agricultural fertiliser. It was a huge employer in the town for 30 to 40 years. It has since closed and the buildings demolished.
      John V Kelly was a publican and restaurateur who owned a premises on the river side just in front of where JFK was speaking. It closed in the 2000s.
