How to Knock Out People in Gang Beasts | Tips & Tricks | Gang Beasts

- Hello everyone, in this video I share two methods or techniques to knock out people / enemies in Gang Beasts. I show a couple clips of it in action. The first method shown is the one I have mainly used, but I do not know of any other better techniques than this. I am playing Gang Beasts on PlayStation 4 (PS4), but it can also be played on PC. This is a combat tip, please let us know if it helps you do better in the game, or if you have another suggestion.

one technique i like using is holding the enemy with both arms and headbutting them, it's risky however if you knock them out and you've got a good grip on them you can easily throw them off so it's pretty efficient.
Nice technique, having the grip could let you throw them faster. Thanks for sharing it.

I prefer to hold with one hand and headbutt + punch like this dudes first technique, but modified with tapping the run forward towards enemy. The headbutt and tap run forward launches your fist forward for a super punch aka a punch with more power (almost has more knockout potential then the headbutt tbh, and doesn't risk headbutt trading), and the headbutt is well... A Headbutt XD.
And the grip with one hand allows for a grip on them so if they try to throw you off they can't, and so you can get behind them, and when you knock them out you can throw them off faster.
It’s better to hold them with one arm and hit with the other tbh
krodons way is better you have to have them in a good angle and not be to close to them in order for it to be efficient
While holding and punching and headbutting, hold triangle so they dont have a good angle to punch you,
What I like to do is I knock someone out, hold their foot with L1 and lift them up with triangle and with the other hand you start beating them up, it is very op.
That sounds pretty effective, thanks for sharing it. Lifting them up would make it harder for them to attack you back.
if you hit them more times and not hit them anymore there HP comes back don't be late for there HP just hit them as fast as you can so they can be knocked out

I always get spawn killed with that on maps like the trucks.

@@knox3309 Good question. Since the 1.13 updates, the strategies described in this video can work well again, but maybe a bit weaker than they were originally.
Drop kicks seem to be the strongest attack so trying to mix those in sometimes could work well, but it needs practice. I am not too good with them myself.
@@Krodon yes, I love drop kicks, but they don’t work all the time, I’m talking about what’s the best close range grab punch headbutt type of thing
@@knox3309 I think it could be good to use the double punch and headbutt but then switch to the grab punch and headbutt if you are near an edge or at risk of getting thrown off.
For close range, this still seems like one of the better strategies.
The coolest move is basically same as first hold with one arm and headbut and punch but hold a and b together while doing so you will do a hand stand on your enemies shoulder and its harder to hit you but way easier for you to hit them and while in handstand move to move your legs and kick at any extra enemies while your punching your target to a ko

Maybe people are playing less because of this annoying fighting style I showed, or maybe because there is not too much content in the game, maybe both.
I wonder if it would've been better to not post this video. I think it already had a major part of its impact, so removing it now won't do too much, but is an option.

The spam everything one, or the hold and spam everything else one? With the grab or without?
Maybe it could be solved with an update that does stamina, combos, or time to attack.
Another tip, if your opponent is holding you up keep spamming jump and kick, this will make it so the that you keep drop kicking because you cant come down due to you being held up, keep doing this until you get a good dropkick to the head knocking him out

When I used this technique, I would press them at the same time. However, I think the technique is not as strong anymore because of updates. Also, I heard that punching while headbutting will always miss and go to the side, so maybe taking your time and pressing them one after another is better. Thanks for the question.
I like to grab them with both arms jump over them and then start punching with one hand. I do this because you can get behind the enemy pretty fast and then either throw them off or start punching them.

I like holding them and punching them but also picking them up the whole time so your in full control of the situation and when you knock them out there already in the air
Oh nice! That seems like it would make it easier and quicker to throw them out.
@@Krodon I'm also like 99% certain that when you pick them up and hit them it's easier to knock them out in less hits
I do a thing what I like to call a spinny spin where I grab my opponent with one hand just like you do punch them with rt just, like you do but I also spin to round up my punches

No this doesent work for me I am so bad at this game it looked so cool and funny when I saw you tubers play it but it's still funny when ur playing online I just start laughing but I can't knock someone I suck at punching and I was doing what u told to do hold L1 and keep tapping R1 and circle but it doesent seem to ever work for me and I've actually win a few rounds but that's because I hide and wait for them to fall down or something I suck at the game
Friday 13!! Sorry to hear that. Yeah, I agree some games seem a lot more fun than they actually are because of TH-camrs acting very excited while playing it. This game is pretty difficult and I struggle to win. Playing it smart and hiding can be safer than fighting. Maybe try aiming your left stick towards their head, I think maybe that makes knock outs easier. I think in the tips I make that I make the tip look too good and like you can easily win with it, but I actually keep recording to find clips of the tip actually working, and the fails aren't really shown. I'm not trying to trick anyone, but sometimes I guess I may trick myself or the tip is overestimated. Good luck.

Cool! I've seen dropkicks, but not too many diving headbutts.
I did the same thing as you about holding your opponent and punching them because I was with my sister playing Gang Beasts and we were she got rid of the little guys I was fighting the big guy and then the guy punched me I flew but I was holding his arm and they super punch them on the face and they threw him off
Nice, holding on can save you when opponents try to throw you off.

How do you throw, bc i saw you throw on of the guys pretty far
I think they've made it a bit harder to throw now. Might be also because it seems you wake up / recover from knock outs faster.
To throw, try to grab their feet or legs. Sort of spin and use your momentum to try and throw them.
A lot easier to throw when they are knocked out than when awake and resisting.

I was playing waves and I see the enemy's knock me out, and THROW me off of the roof. How do you throw people?!?
I think that kind of throwing is because the enemy computer is stronger than the regular players, like boss enemies. I do not think you can do throws exactly like that.

The best trick is to hold L1, L2, Triangle, and tap O. This way u have them in the air and are headbutting them, once they're knocked out, u just throw them off.

Grab them with both hands and hold x while tapping square to kick you get to climb them and kick them.
I just do hand stands and flips to confuse em

@@mauro8021 I think you can do a handstand by grabbing the ground or a ledge with both hands, then holding circle/B and x/A while moving the left stick backwards.
There probably are some tutorial videos made by other people.

I hope to make a video with tips on throwing and maybe a new KO technique, but I haven't played a lot.
I tried to find out the best ways before, but wasn't really able to figure something out.
Not sure when I can, or if I even will, but it would be nice to hopefully make some Gang Beasts videos eventually.

No problem.
When your opponent is knocked out grab them with both arms (hold L1 and R1 for PS4), lift them up (also hold Triangle), and move toward the edge or where you want to throw them, or do a spin and turn towards it, then let go of them (let go of L1 and R1) to throw them.
I think throwing is harder now, and people aren't knocked out for as long anymore.

I play it from time to time, but haven't been playing for a while. I am not used to the newest game version and its KO strategies, plus my R1 button is damaged from spamming too much in Gang Beasts, so I don't want to mess that up.
Still can be a fun game to play with friends.

I guess you are talking about KO'd opponents, but I'll mention awake ones first.
Throwing awake opponents off is pretty difficult, hard to do without falling yourself. Not sure how to pull off super throws, or if they are possible
Anyways, for KO'd opponents it can help to do a little spin while holding them to get more momentum and speed when you throw them. Also, where you are trying to throw them could matter too, it's probably tougher to get them through the glass of the roof map than just off the train.

Sorry, not sure. Solid colour T-shirt, pants, beard, mask, and cape. I did tint the clothes to be very dark with the A/X button (tutorial: th-cam.com/video/NfJo4swWhgc/w-d-xo.html).

It doesn't work somehow even by them headbutting alone knocks me out instantly it's starting to piss me off
Sorry to hear that it isn't working for you, the game's knockouts can be pretty random, and I'm not completely sure what unintended advantages some costume combinations have.

If you happen to be playing the "remastered version" now that's come out for console, try not spamming the buttons.
It looks like everyone else is spamming, and they might be, but if you press the button and let the full animation play out, you'll do more damage.
Spamming will sort of 'pull' your punches and you might not even hit them at all with it.

Sorry, the game seems more difficult now. This strategy is weaker in these new versions, but I think if you keep playing and trying new things out, you can figure out your own style which works better.
I understand, the game can be annoying sometimes. I've heard online that now (sometime after this KO tutorial was made) any punches you throw while headbutting will miss and just hit the air. If that is actually in the game, players are probably meant to try and time their headbutts and punches, not spam them together.
However, I did try out waiting between my attacks and it still doesn't seem to work that well.
You could try using your positioning and movement to be behind them while they are grabbing you with just one arm. Not sure.

The circle button is the one you tap to headbutt. On Xbox it would be the B button.

But how to do lift them up after knocking them unconscious. My guy just drags them.
Hold triangle/Y to lift up your arms. You might need to grab them with both arms plus have a good grabbing point.

I think in the newer versions of Gang Beasts, it is harder. Also, your character randomly lets go of whatever it's holding sometimes. Before it would vibrate while climbing to show you're tired, but no signal now.
I think it's good of the spamming strategy didn't work the best, but the game's still too random.

You can probably look up a controls guide for Gang Beasts to see the keys.
Here is a translation of PS4 button to Gang Beasts action.
L1= Left Punch, Left Grab
R1 = Right Pinch, Right Grab
Triangle = Lift arms up
Square = Kick
Circle = Headbutt
X = Jump, sprint
Left analog stick = movement

Space - Jump,Sprint
F - Kick
Shift - Lift
Ctrl - Headbutt
WASD - movement
Any ideas?
Use WASD to get close enough to your opponent.
Hold LMB to grab them with your left arm.
Keep tapping RMB and CTRL to punch and headbutt them.
OR
Follow them and keep tapping LMB, RMB and CTRL to double punch and headbutt them.
WARNING: this method may be less effective due to recent patches. Some other person commented saying that letting the full attack animation play out does more damage.

Also, this doesn't work very well anymore, and be careful: spamming the buttons can break/damage your controller. My R1 (RB) button is loose and nearly broken from using it to punch so much after they made this spamming stuff weaker, and knockouts got harder to get. Not as fun anymore now, too hard to KO or throw fast enough.

Not sure what the controls for PC are. Just need to use WASD to move around, hold the left punch button to grab the opponent, keep tapping the right punch and headbutt buttons. Also, can choose not to grab and punch with both hands while headbutting, but be careful of getting thrown off.

This tactic no longer works as well, it used to be pretty strong. Also, it is meant to be used against other players, I haven't played Waves much.

The video was made to showcase what I felt was one of the most effective ways to KO people in Gang Beasts.
It is no longer effective due to some changes to the game.

On PS4 you have to use the d-pad before you raise your arms by pressing X (A on XBox) to ready up.
On XBox use the left and right arrow buttons, on the left side of the controller.
Or use the left analog stick (left stick) and move it left or right, I think.

No problem, I'm glad it works. I agree, it maybe works too well, and it sort of ruins the fun to fight a spammer.
I've considered taking it down before, I was also sort of thinking of / waiting for an email from the developers of Gang Beasts (Meatloaf ?) that asks me to take down the video or says they will update the gameplay so spamming doesn't work as well.
I think it might be too late, even without this video, people can see others spamming and try it for themselves, and I think other people discovered this spamming method by themselves.
I think the problem may only be solved if Gang Beasts is updated to have a stamina bar or make multiattacks (double punch + headbutt) weaker.

Waves. It’s horrible
Waves gets very difficult too fast. I haven't played with the new updates yet.
Krodon FOR REAL!!! On the second wave 1 big guy 1 little fat guy and 1 normal guy came up (bc my friend was the only one in) and just knocked him out, then like did their little thing with their hands and picked him up all the way in the air and YEETED him into the incinerator.
One of the developers mentioned that they knew Waves was a bit flawed ("in a bit of a weird place") but said they would try to fix it after fixing some other things first.
Here's a quote from SoporoficDonkey (Michael Brown, developer) on August 09/2019:
"Waves is in a bit of a weird place at the moment as we need to rewrite the AI system to fix a lot of the legacy issues and we've put that on hold as we're in the process of rewriting the character system to better utilize the substantial improvements in Unity2019 (the current game is build in Unity2017) and that means we'd have to rewrite the AI after that anyway.
Once the refactor is done you should hopefully notice vast improvements to all aspects of the game and significant performance gains as early tests showed my laptop that struggled with 8 beasts at once managed 150 beasts at once before slowdown, although admittedly that's not a fair 1 to 1 comparison as there's a few systems that aren't implemented yet like targeting.
As for the AI themselves, the main issue is they are relentless right now and they have the same stats (health, etc.) as players which means since its often 4 on 1, its not exactly a fair fight. Also there maybe a few bugs in the code that messes with their KO times and things since they don't share all of their code with players.
TLDR: Can't wait to fix it, gotta fix a few other things first."
