Yeah me either... no way. But I guess I can't really say because I was never in the situation. It's certainly not the children's fault....So to make them go through the ordeal of a 2 day travel...seems a bit unfair. IDK maybe it's fun for the kids?
Hate to say but Scotland and especially the West Coast remains poor. The opportunities available to these kids would have been about the same. Jobs exist in Ayrshire but better opportunities are only available in Glasgow. You just need to look at the indicators of poverty, drug deaths etc. that Scotland is a poor country with limited opportunities for many of its population. That 2 day journey of around 200 miles would be exactly the same as it was in 1985. Fashion has changed but the problems stay the same
i really hope these men stayed out of trouble and out of prison when they were released, the loyalty and love these women had for their partners is worth way more than the temporary benefits from committing crimes.
All these young Mums showing great patience with their kids on that very long journey - wonder how young Mums of today would fare on a journey like that with no screens!
@ZoeDark-ed5ym well let's hope they ban meat eating and alcohol next because animal agriculture is cruel, bad for health and atrocious on the environment and alcohol is a horrendous drain on the NHS.

I live near Peterhead and it is one hell of a journey from Ayrshire to the North East. These guys should have been in Glasgow prisons where a visit could have been done in hours not days. Ridiculous

Well, the families of the victims of those brutal robberies and attempted murders had a life sentence and a home turn into a prison. My father was nearly beaten to death by a robber, I have no sympathy whatsoever for these women. They made the choice to stay with such an animal and put their kids through that monthly ordeal. I would never do that to my child for a ‘man’ that thought his get rich quick scheme meant more to him than being there for his child. He made his bed so he could lie in it by himself.
