I passed from merryland 1st go yesterday, and for all the test takers - Trust me when I say this
"I know exactly how you are feeling",Please read my below tips coming from a real life experience-
I am literally coming back to all the videos that helped me so that other than people can benefit from my experience-
    1. The real test will be easier than what you are preparing for. Don't think so much about the big things- I passed with 111
but you will laugh when I say what I mistake I did - I turned left but forgot to turn off the indicator. The officer had to
interfere in telling me to turn it off (which is perfectly okay, I got a minus point for that) - see - the small things. Often
before the test we focus on major issues so much that easy to make mistake on small ones.
    2. The instructor will never give you parking on a stressful road. I can guarantee you on that. He will choose an easy street for you
So pleaseeee - focus on learning the correct parking method. In my exam he asked me to do 3 point turn (which I did perfectly),
and a kerbside (I laughed when he said that as I learned reverese parralel so much and didn't focus too much on kerbside), guess what-
my kerbside parking was not upto the standard but not totally bad as well (like I indicated properly, checked shoulder, etc but the
car's alignment was not okay at all), I still passed.
    3. The instructor is not gonna eat you up. Until you are into crashing something or human he will just observe and nothing else.
I prayed so much that my instructor is going to be friendly this and that. Guess what - on the test day -I barely noticed how he is.
His interaction with you will be very small. and he will always smile at you when greeting. After a while you will forget he is there.
To me - I felt he is like my GPS, guiding me to go right/left/forward. You can alayws ask him unsure. Guess what again - He asked
me to take the right, I mistakenly went to left but said I am sorry and since there was no care behind me I changed lane and
    ultimately went right.
    4. One thing is - don't expect things like I wish he will only take me to suburbs, or I wish he will only take me to highway- expect a
mixture of both. In the suburb - I felt there was 1 very complicated give way turn to left - But I kept myself cool and looked for a safe gap. I got full mark there.
In the main roads, there was one time he asked me to go right from a T zone. It was very complicated but I took 3 mins time till I find a safe gap
as cars kept on coming from right and left - when I felt safe I went. I got full marks there.
    5. Practice lane change - however, don't worry if you can't change lane in extremely rushing traffic as he will ask you to change it
where you can manage (but he will for sure), Mine was a red car was behind me but not on my blind spot so I kept cool, indicated , the back car slowed, and I smoothly
    changed lane.
    6. DOn't think what if the road is hard? or will I get easy road? In the exam day my mind was only focused on my car and the road. My eyes, and my brain
were my resources. I didn't even notice which road he is taking me. I always use the 'NEXT STEP rule'- If I am stopped at red light- whats my next step?
If I am asked to go right - whats my next step? I never focused whats happening next. I only focused on whats my next step and used muscle memory to execute.
    7. At the end remember Headcheck! headcheck headcheck !!! indicator indicator indicator !!! Stop in STOP Sign !!!
Go only when you feel safe - it doesn't matter how long you are stopping !!! Must slow properly to check in GIVE WAY!!! If there's car
in roundabout slow peoperly and check their indicator!!!Stop at pedestrian crossing !!! If you are the first car must check left and right before proceeding !!!
AT the end remember - my examiner mentioned to me 2 times how even with minor mistakes I did an incredible safe driving, he reminded me that
Sadia we don't want an expert in the test day, even a proficient driver can mistakes, as long as someone is not doing
major mistakes can exercise safe driving we pass them - If I being a person who will almost faint before the exam date, If I took 2 days off from work before the test day as I was getting panick attack so extreme
that felt like my heart will pound and come out, If I being a person who developed fever out of exam nerves - then YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!!!!!!!! To anyone who read this - I hope from the bottom of my heart
    that you PASS.

Hi , please help me for what the route in merrylands for test ??

  • @shedgepranay
    @shedgepranay 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

I cleared the driving test yesterday. Here's some tips:
    1. Merrylands is the easier route with no double round about or excess speeds. Less problems to tackle.
    2. Understand the mall as it has 3 pedestrians crossing that most miss and lose points. 1st crossing is just at the mall entrance and 2 other are just before the parking inside the allocated parking space. Make sure you show that you are observing that. There is also one give way inside the mall when cars are coming from the slope upstairs. Make sure you don't miss that. Speed inside the mall is 10km thus if you are expert at driving then go slow.
    3. Drive at 40 throughout on the road and you won't fail as without the digital navigation or speedometer it becomes challenging to do all 3 i.e. take instructions, manage speed and perform the necessary actions.
    4. Kerb side parking and 3 point turns are done at quiet places thus you won't have to worry about anybody coming or honking. You won't get a second chance for reverse parking if you mess up. Ensure you practice it enough.
    5. If you are asked to move from give way to another road which requires crossing then take your time. There is no rush.
    6. The total duration should be around 30 - 45 mins max for the test. You won't realise the time going too soon.
    7. I lost points for shoulder check when I messed with the reverse parking. I managed it somehow. Irrespective of the situation, always do the shoulder check.
    8. When you are first at the red signal, it is the first car's duty to ensure both sides are clear (no pedestrians or car in the way). You must check both the side when the signal turns green before going ahead.
    9. Stop sign needs a compulsory stop else you lose points.
    10. Schools have pedestrian crossing. You can pause half a second to ensure nobody is on it. If you ignore that then it's a fail. Make sure you pause.
    11. The service nsw short free book is a good read. Make sure you don't skip it. Read it as it takes less than 15 mins but gives all the answers.
All the best and be a good driver.

@@prathimakamma9907 yes. Dont worry. Just make sure your concepts about round about are clear. They will make you drive in residential areas only. Make sure you do shoulder check and don't press the brake too hard. I lost points there.

For anyone doing the test, at 6:25, make sure you STOP AT THE WHITE LINE!!! They will fail you, even if your wheel goes over a tiny bit. Just make sure that when you stop, the white line is still just barely visible, and you'll be fine.
Even if you want to stop a bit more forward to see the traffic, you CANNOT go over the white line. You must first stop BEHIND the white line for 3 seconds, and then you can stop a bit more forward to see the traffic. For me, even though I thought I stopped behind the white line, my instructor still failed me, so make sure you play safe and stop a bit behind it so that you can still see it.
They are VERY PICKY with this.

Today, I passed my driving test at Merrylands on my first attempt! Here's my advice:
Always take driving lessons along the test route. Even if you have 10 years of driving experience, practicing on the specific test route is essential.
Passing the test requires a systematic approach. Familiarizing yourself with the route helps you adapt to it and increases your chances of success.
This preparation is key to achieving a positive result.

Quiz Answers posting below (as per my understanding). I do have a few requests that will improve the recordings. (a) Please use more footage from dashcam than the instructor’s head camera. (b) Please also show the driving speed continuously. (c)And provide continuous footage on the left side and on back side (rear view mirror).
    1. 6:35 He did not stop on the stop line, just slowed down and stopped quite ahead. It’s not a minor error; he’ll fail the test. To rectify, he should have completely stopped behind the stop line (within one meter of the line) and waited for at least 3 seconds or a suitable gap in traffic (whichever is higher) to turn left.
    2. 8:44 Stopped on the “No Stopping” sign. He should have probably stopped on the broken line just before that. I am unsure though.
    3. 11:00 He did not do a headcheck on right side. I also think he should after the headcheck, he should enter the intersection once the green light turns on. He waited too long.
    4. 11.23 Turned very close to the stopped vehicles, could have turned from a little more from the left side. I think he also touched the solid lines.
    5. 12:05 Looks like he drove over the roundabout. No exit indicator as well.
    6. 14:40 No. He hardly stopped before the line, moved without waiting for 3 seconds. Also, drove through the solid lines, turned from way too far to the right.
    7. 14.35 Missed the timely headchecks. Looked on left only after moving away.
    8. 15:57 Did not slow down enough while passing the give way sign. Passed the roundabout quite fast.
    9. 16:32 Once the broken line was available, he should have done a headcheck and moved into left lane.
    10. 17.35 First, he stopped way before the stop line, then he moved to the line and passed it without stopping.
    11. 18:15 The worst right turn. He positioned the vehicle on extreme right while turning, passing over the imaginary lane lines, ending up in the right lane of the street.
    12. 18:55 Did not stop for sufficient time. It looks like his right front wheel was also over the line.
    13. 19:50 Not a fail, but he could have paid attention when the given the instruction on a 2nd time.
    14. 30:00 He stopped to give way unnecessarily to the red car while he had the right of way here. He also did not scan the right side of the intersection.
    15. 30:40 Yes, going too slow, below to allowed speed limit. He is also not scanning the intersections (both sides) while continuing through.
    16. 32:22 He drove over the intersection. Did not signal left while exiting either.
    17. 35:43. Yes. First he did not do a proper headcheck on the right before moving back. Second, he did not keep looking back while reversing, was looking at the camera display (which is not allowed on a test). Distance from the kerb also seems more than 50 cm. Turned the engine off while keeping the right indicator on.
    18. 40:08 He drove on the double solid lines again driving too close to the stopped car.
    19. 40:54 He moved into the left lane without the left headcheck.
    20. 41:40 He moved into the left lane before performing the left headcheck.
    21. 43:45 He started reversing without looking back. Performed the headcheck only after he had already started moving.
By the way, at 43:08, should he not have taken the left lane to enter the parking?

Hi, I have my driving test in two weeks, I would appreciate if I get a mock test before my actual driving test..
These are the mistakes I noticed:
Q1: major one. He did not stop at the stop line.
Q2: he stopped too close to the car infront.
Q3: he did not check left and right.
Q4: his turning angle was not correct. The car crossed the double line.
Q5: did not signal whipe exiting the roundabout.
    Q6: no. Not 3 seconds.
    Q7: not proper headchecks.
Q8: he did not slow down to be prapared for giving way.
Q9: not turning left from left side of the road.
Q10: he should have stopped within 1 meter of the stop line.
    Q11: wrong positioning
Q12: he did not wait 3 seconds.
Q13: no. If it is not repeated.
Q14: yes. He wanted to give way where he had the priority over the other car.
Q15: maybe he was driving so slow and he should have drivin in left lane.
Q16: he should have waited for the white car to conpletely exit the roundabout, because the white car could have made a u-turn
Q17: yes. 1- not proper headchecks. 2- too far from the kerb.
Q18: not proper positioning. He crossed the center line.
Q19: he did not check his blindspot.
    Q20: late blind spot checking.

    • @Noodles4Lyfeee
      @Noodles4Lyfeee ปีที่แล้ว

Actually, for the first one it was okay, as you needed to go a little bit further than the stop sign to see the oncoming traffic. If you stopped where the stop sign was, you wouldn't be able to see as much. But that's just situational.
For QU15, John should've continued going, as he had priority. But, you are also correct, he should have waited.

    Here is the Answers -
Question 1- Did he make any mistakes here? If so, is that a minor mistake or a major Fail item? What should he have done to rectify this mistake?
ANSWER - Yes he did a major mistake, Fail item -F1 -Disobeying traffic signs, signals, or road markings. He should have completely stopped behind the solid Stop line and then approach the line to check for the traffic.
Question 2- What minor mistake john has done now?
Answer- Place one hand inside the steering wheel rim while driving.
Question 3- What minor mistake john has done now?
He has missed a head check being the first car at the traffic lights
Question 4- What minor mistake john has done now?
he was truing the steering placing one hand inside the steering wheel rim.
Question 5- What minor mistake john has done at this roundabout?
he was truing the steering placing one hand inside the steering wheel rim.
Question 6- Did john stop correctly at this stop sign?
yes, but a 2 to 3 seconds complete stop is preferable, he stopped for a second and rolled forward immediately.
Question 7- any mistake during the 3-point turn?
late head check to the left side during the final turn
Question 8- did he make any mistake at the roundabout?
yes, he was truing the steering placing one hand inside the steering wheel rim & palming.
Question 9- did he make any mistake at this left turn?
No, but he should have entered into the left lane completely before turning left, he could also slide over the solid line (which is an open line and not close to the curbside) to enter into the left lane to turn left here.
Question 10- Any mistake at this stop sign?
Yes, he stopped 5 meters behind the stop line and did not approach ahead and stop again at the line which is a major mistake and a fail for F1
Question 11- Did john make any mistake at this right turn?
Yes, he turned into the wrong side of the road, very close to the oncoming side parked cars. Which is a major mistake-causing F4- Performing an illegal act or maneuver.
Question 12- Any mistake at this stop sign?
    No, it's just Perfect.
Question 13- John missed a direction, is that a fail?
No, until he makes any major mistakes while the examiner takes him back to the test route.
Question 14- Did John make any mistake at this intersection?
Yes, he was confused about the right of way here, he had the priority but got confused and paused for the oncoming traffic to let him turn first which is a minor decision error.
Question 15- Did John make any mistakes along this road?
Nothing is marked down but he is driving too slow unnecessarily, at 50 km per hour road here, he should drive close to 40 km per hour to maintain a good flow of traffic.
Question 16- Did John make any mistakes at this roundabout?
Yes, he mounted over the roundabout circle, which is a fail, fail item -F3-colliding with a vehicle, pedestrian, or object.
Question 17- Did John make any mistake at the reverse parking?
Yes, he did a late head check to the right which is a head check error (H), he should have finished all his checking and then started reversing, and he also used palming for the steering which is a course/steering error (C), his final position of the car is just under but about 1 meter from the curb which is a position error (P), if its 1 meter then it would be a Fail.
Question 18- Did John make any mistake at this turning?
Yes, he cut the corner while turning, he turned early causing the back Tyre to mount over the divider line-which is a position error, and also placed his hand inside the steering wheel rim.
Question 19- Did John make any mistake at this lane changing?
Yes, He has missed his left head check before changing lanes.
Question 20- Did John make any mistake at this lane changing?
Yes, He has done a late head check to the left while changing the lane.
Question 20- Did John make any mistake here?
    - Yes, he did a late head check to the back, he should have finished all his checks all around the car including the rear, through the rear window, and then should have started reversing the car.
