The last time that I was in Bolton all the public toilets had disappeared and even the ones at the bus station were closed. I had to keep using the toilets at the Octagon Theatre.
Thank you Dorothy. I moved away from Bolton in 1978, but have been back a few times to see how the place is doing. All the places that you mentioned are indeed sadly gone, and to think, in the 1950's there were 14 cinemas in Bolton. You may remember the ABC Capitol on Churchgate, the Queen's at the bottom of Trinity St, the Hippodrome on Deansgate, and the Rialto on St.George's Road, to name a few. Mike
its gone downhill rapid, shame used to be buzzing, incompetent 'greedy council, moved 5 years ago, still in Lancs (not greater manchester) but in countryside .
@@john-fl2qu Thanks John. I think if you were born in Bolton, then you are always a Boltonian! I left there in 1975, and have lived in North Wales since then. Born in Townleys Hospital in 1950, so that makes me a Farnworthian too!.
Where slowly loosing our town centres, I think town centres which are small are going to shut down, then we are gonna have to go to Manchester as it will be a super town centre, for the North West. Sad times it will be?. I hope I'm wrong, only time will tell.
Mosy off the beggar's are not early risers , I gather they like a lyin after an hard day's work, it saddens me how some are treated, I know its their cause. What has happened to looking after your own first. I'm a very proud Boltonnia to.
Indeed a very nice and interesting walk Mike! Thank you and greetings, Annemieke

I guess Preston's closed. Also, no Palais de Danse. Odeon, Lido, Bolton has changed a lot since I left.
