This show does tragic villains so well. Elizabeth Mitchell was wonderful, another jewel of an actor from Lost. Even when Ingrid did awful things, she set it right and sacrifices herself and it's hard not to feel sorry for her.
"Long ago, a prophesy told me that you would lead me to just that, Emma. And this is it! All I wanted was to have my sisters' love, and now I have it. And now, I can join them..."

She realised her mistakes and did not hesitate for a second to sacrifice herself to make things right again... I'm not gonna cry..... *rolls into fetal position...... cries a lot*
When I saw Ingrid's sacrifice, she said she wanted her sisters' love and is ready to join them. This is made her happy ending and I literally cried down. Tears came cascading down my face. :'(
I just never felt any anger or hatred towards Ingrid even shen she was being 'evil'. I guess it's because.....I understood what she was going through.I just looked at her face and I saw loneliness and heartbreak. Amazing actress.RIP Ingrid.
Same, I felt oddly like she was good deep down, but she just didn’t understand how her actions were effecting others. She was easier to sympathise with when Rumple came into the picture
The parts that really got me were when the snow queen told Emma she found her family even if it wasn't with her and the other part that got me was after Emma got her memories back she recognized Ingrid and there was a split moment where she is sad to see her go.
So touching. It's not fair to "villans" end up always like this. I saw it the first time with Regina. I even saw it with Zelena. It's sad. ='( "Everyone deserves their happy ending"
Well, they all HAVE got their happy ending; Regina is working towards hers, Zelena wanted to destroy Regina's happiness (which, on Marian's return, HAPPENED), Ingrid got her sisters' love. They all got their happy ending... just not in the exact ways they thought.
Jamestopboy not sure Zelena counts: she didn't just wanted Regina to be miserable she wanted her to have never been born....not sure having her lose her boyfriend is quite the same especially since she didn't live long enough to see that happen
Jamestopboy It's funny you should mention how Marian's return is connected with Zelena's attempts to destroy Regina's happiness now that the story has progressed lol XD
She’s one of the only villains that actually got redemption in my book she realized what she did was wrong and had to give up something to fix it and did so like a hero but a witch that kills robins wife and raped him as his wife killed a crap ton of people gets a happy ending? Get outta here this season wasn’t all bad then
People can go "blah blah taking advantage of Frozen's success" all they want to, Ingrid/The Snow Queen was a truly misunderstood, sad being who really wasn't evil. A lot of what she said was true, people do look at u with fear when they don't understand you, even if they are close family. Aside from that, many of the scenes were excellent. The tragic past of the Snow Queen, that episode was the saddest thing I've seen in years. And her ending, of how she saved everyone despite her lack of care for anyone who she felt couldn't understand her. She was not power hungry (Rumpelstiltskin, Cora), she wasn't a destructive evil queen (Regina) or a wicked witch consumed with jealousy and ignorance (Zelena). She was a woman who just wished to be loved and have a family. I doubt someone like her will ever show up on this show again. Or on any tv show, normal, fantasy, films, etc.
TBH, routing names into forms of religion always seemed goofy to me, and though Hans Christian Anderson was a Christian, only character he actually named was Gerda, and she wasn't the snow queen's sister, so that angle kinda doesn't work. On a side note, when is Ingrid going to show up in more future flashbacks?! I wanna know now!!
Seiko Zoorhess It all comes down to love, doesn't it? Regina turned evil after losing her true love, Rumple truly became the dark one after losing his son, and reverted back following his son's death. Ingrid turned evil after losing her sisters. Something about this show makes me want to cry and some of the villains more than slap them, but I'm not complaining. Tragic villains are the most interesting.
And to think I hated her in the beginning. This will go down as one of the saddest tv deaths for me of 2014. The whole Frozen arc from beginning to end was an emotional roller coaster for me, left this girl with a major case of the feels it took me a day or two to recover. Same thing with Legend of Korra series finale. I had my doubts as to how OUAT would approach Frozen given how big of a phenomenon it became but well done OUAT writers. And The Anna and Elsa actressess did a fabulous job. Overall it was wonderful and left me satisfied in the end.
+Olivija Strandjord yeah !! Everyone believed that she was evil but the truth is that al she wanted is someone who could love her for who she is but in fact her true sisters loved her for who she was!!
I don't care about what most people think about season 4a, but I loved that storyline, it was fresh and new. Storybrooke needed some ice!! And that death was the most moving of all.
This is probably the scene that made me cry the most. And I find that I’ve seen the entire series multiple times but Ingrid’s story always makes me sob. It’s so heartbreaking. And that last scene when the three sisters, as children, are holding hands again, makes me cry so fucking much.
Ingrid sacrifice her self to save Elsa Anna and Emma she don't deserve to die all she ever wanted is to be with her sisters she shouldn't toke her own life away of because of what she did she didn't meant what she did to the people she loved and care about everyone plus she deserve to have her second life to but now she's gone and she'll never be seen again she was the most loving caring woman that everyone would love her for she really deserves a second chance it shouldn't be like this it should be a happy ending where Ingrid goes and be with her caring sisters but its to late now she died to save Elsa Anna Emma and all the people out there why dose it have to be like this it shouldn't though the three girls were about to help her until she's gone I feel so bad for her sisters so sad:(
Ingrid: What I've been done...... I need to reverse this. Anna: You can't the only way is to...... Ingrid: I know......(panting) I have to destroy myself. Elsa: No Ingrid. Emma Swan: WAIT! Ingrid: There's no other way I am a monster!
"I am a monster, not because of powers but Because of what I let them turn me into." Now if only fucking Regina would learn this and stop blaming everyone else.
In Once Upon A Time, Ingrid is Elsa’s aunt, her mother’s (Gerda’s) sister. In Frozen 2, Elsa’s mother is given a name , Iduna. Sadly the plot of Once Upon A Time can no longer fit with the Arendelle universe like it used to.

I like when Ingrid thought her sister Gerda hated her because she called Ingrid a monster cuz Ingrid accidentally killed her other sister Helga & when Ingrid touched the memory stone & Ingrid saw that her sisters Helga & Gerda still loved her & I'm really glad that Ingrid realized that her sisters did love her & Ingrid kills herself & Ingrid was reunited with her sisters in the afterlife in once upon a time season 4
I think there will not be other as horrible and sad deaths as Juliet and Charlie's ones were....those two were just so devastating at least to me.... I'm sure even Lana had to be emotional even though she had only a minor role in season 3 finale....
ıt's the best death and best ending to the villain ı think. Maybe ıts her happy ending. ı feel that closure with this scene. I believe Ingrid could've had another second chance with her nieces after this revelation. But I'm still glad in the end, she has her happy ending dearly departed with her loving sisters.
The sisters Ingrid truly wanted were Helga & Gerda, only them could give her real love. Yeah, I know Elsa & Emma also loved Ingrid too, but anyway they were just replaced ones
This scene always touches my heart! Ingrid and her two sister loved each other very much. After she was rumored as a monster by that crazy weasel and it made her sister thought shes a monster but she did nothing! All three of them are one happy family to begin with! Family should not fear family, no one deserves that.
SPOILERS if you haven't sent the frozen arc! Essentially, Anna and Elsa's mother (Gerda) had two sisters: Ingrid and Helga. Ingrid was born with ice powers. She was good, but she always thought of herself as a dangerous monster that needed to be locked away. Her sisters Helga and Gerda loved her. However. One day, Ingrid accidentally kills Helga with her powers. Gerda, in the heat of the moment, called Ingrid a "monster" and seals her away in a magical urn. Ingrid remained in that urn, now believing that her two sisters hated her. She turns bitter and evil. Years later, Prince Hans accidentally releases her and she goes on to try and destroy everyone with a "mirror spell". But Anna and Elsa bring Ingrid the loving memories of her sisters, and Ingrid realizes her sisters always loved her and Helga always regretted sealing away Ingrid. Realizing the error of her ways, Ingrid needed to stop the "mirror spell". But the only way to stop it now is if the one who cast the spell dies. So Ingrid kills herself to stop the spell.
I hate that they decided Ingrid HAD to die at the end of this story arc. There was some real potential for the character (if Zelena can be redeemed, why can't Ingrid?). She would have been a very important ally during some of the stuff that happened later with Emma. Also, it would have been nice to explore that side of Emma's youth since we'd always been led to believe it was so sh***y prior to this storyline (and also since the fact that she found out there actually was someone who cared for her during that time was brought up ZERO times after she regained her memory of it). I feel like this is why the show suffered eventually. Too many self contained stories with no threads left to carry over to later arcs (remember Lily's dad, who eventually became a throw away line in the finale?). I actually think The Emma-Hook storyline would have been infinitely better if Neal/Bae stayed alive and they treated it as a proper love triangle.
That is so sad!!! I feel like Elsa, Emma and Anna r another set of sister's. Elsa (the snow queen/ingrid, Emma (Helga/ middle child) and Anna (gurada / the youngest)
+peblezQ I very often see comments like "I want Peter Pan back!" But there's something you forget: the actor becomes older every year. I thinks he's like 20 or something... So, I don't think it would be possible to bring him back, because of his appearance, since he's not supposed to get older...
+peblezQ Me too I would love to know his back stories! I mean I am sure he has some parent related issues just like the rest of the fucking characters. First Emma with Snow and Charming, Henry with Emma then meeting his father a year later. Pan and Rumple Cora and Regina. Shall I go on?

That is so sad!!! I feel like Elsa, Emma and Anna r another set of sister's. Elsa (the snow queen/ingrid, Emma (Helga/ middle child) and Anna (gurada / the youngest)
you are right, and this is one of scenes the most saddest of the series

I only watched Once Upon a Time for Frozen, and it was so worth it, and (sadly) So much better then the concept of Frozen 2
me too the disney movie "frozen" was the reason for which I wanted to see "once upon a time" and everything was perfect in the series
For those of you wondering about the song:
Mark Isham - "Snow Queen's Sacrifice"
Amazing actors!
her wanda moment
Westview = Storybrook
Once Upon a Time has been a very good series. do wish they would allow them to return to their homeland (story world) and Hook marries Emma x)

OUAT didn't have to do me dirty like that

@@soixsantes would have loved a scene of Emma making peace with her passing
@@203maxwell just to say, emma was really happy with ingrid when she was young.
@@203maxwell and for me ingrid has never been a villain, she wanted just a family like her.
@@soixsantesyeah she’s one of my all time favorite characters
You have to admit, Peter Pan was the best villain in this whole show. I want peter back in the show! He was so sassy and perfect!
peblezQ Im surprised when rumple returned peter pan didnt come back with him, although theres a chance that shadow is still alive
Jekyll /Hyde yeah, I was wondering that too
Tinkerbell destroyed peters shadow by catching it and burning it at the church
+peblezQ I very often see comments like "I want Peter Pan back!" But there's something you forget: the actor becomes older every year. I thinks he's like 20 or something... So, I don't think it would be possible to bring him back, because of his appearance, since he's not supposed to get older...
+peblezQ Me too I would love to know his back stories! I mean I am sure he has some parent related issues just like the rest of the fucking characters. First Emma with Snow and Charming, Henry with Emma then meeting his father a year later. Pan and Rumple Cora and Regina. Shall I go on?
