I also recall a very effective 'Special' which I made from plastic card. The front axle was almost touching the front of the motor, making the car extremely short (perhaps a fraction wider than it was long!). So quick was this tiny vehicle that my pals tried to ban it from racing against their far larger and heavier Scalextric cars - happy times
I remember making a slot car from an Airfix frogeye sprite as a kid in the seventies but your Stratos is on an entirely different level.
adjusting a plastic kit into a slot car is a whole area of slot cars people should do more often, it's more fun and cheaper than buying new!
