Stone coat makes a casting resin that sets quickly. They have made the art resin to have a two hour pot time so that artists can have a longer workability Thanks again Ricky
Castin craft comes in lots of colours so you wouldn’t have the ink problem. Everyone I have seen use it just gives a squirt, not drops. Just a little squirt. It would be more opaque but my heat gun makes the petals turn and look really 3D. These are a good start to your experiment. I love that part more than making them. 🌷
I love how daring you are! I have learned so much from you, I’ve learned it ok to fail but learn from it and improve on my mistakes. So I want to tell you thank you! I’m a 50 year old woman and it’s never to late to learn from others. Thank you!
Yay!! Yay!! You did it. They look fabulous. Try letting the resin sit and thicken up just a bit longer and you shouldn’t get those blobs on the bottom. Stone Coat Resin has a much longer working time than most other resins. I’ve been able to work with it for up to 2 hours before. If you leave it all in one cup for 15-20 min before starting, you should be good to go. But, you’re there in my eyes. They are sooo pretty, Julie!! Great great job. I’ll have to give it a go.
Yes!!! That’s a heat gun! Not the embossing tool you were referring to. And you need to wait 24 hours before unmolding. Countertop resins take longer to cure and as a result the harden the most, like glass. Art resins will never harden like glass. They will remain a tiny bit bendy/soft. Those are nice! This is why I prefer countertop resins. Just need to be patient.
Absolutely beautiful!!!, you have worked so hard to get to this point. And good for you!!. You deserve so much credit for not giving up!!. Thank you. 😷
I can't decide which one I like best, they are both so beautiful. GREAT JOB JULIE!!! One thing I can say about you, you are not a quiter you do it till you get it right with all your art projects. That makes it exciting to watch you. Besides the fact that you are just a great artist. Thank you for always sharing.
I use Naked Fusion, Diamond Clarity resin. Ive only used it once but I really like it and it seemed to harden in about 12 hours but needs 24 to fully cure
Wow! At first glance, it looked like real flowers within the resin. They both turned out beautifully. I love how the yellow blended and became so soft and delicate. Although, the orange one has more distinct petals. Well done Julie. Love them 💕💕💕
Those turned out the best so far. I appreciate how you measure everything which helps us know how much product to use. I love your enthusiasm. I enjoy your videos.
Quick safety tip: you should never put uncured resin in the trash because it heats up as it cures and can actually start a fire. If you’ve got a lil leftover resin after something like this pour it into a mold let it harden then toss it. Both flowers are very pretty
Rachael Perkins. New Art girl I would mix up any unused resin and let it cure then toss, as for the bottles themselves you should take them to a hazardous waste dump. It’s usually found near your local trash dump, they’ll take care of it from there.
Julie! Such a great video. Thank you for being so honest and showing everything...from your successes to your trials and errors. I have learned soo much from you. I have everything + several different brands of resin to try & start some resin art. I've been so apprehensive...you're videos are very informative and I feel ready to start making a coaster now. Thank you so much for helping me along :-) I look forward to what you create next!
Congratulations! ✨💖💖💯 You got beautiful 3D flower! I know it's hard to do. Because I've been doing flower effect for a few months. I still don't get it. I use scale for measuring resin and sit resin for 24 minutes before I start every time. I got a white pigment paste and pinata ink are expensive in my country. may be alcohol ink art isn't popular here . Anyway I can learn 3D flower from you. Thank you for sharing great video. 🙏✨😀
I've used several resins, the best I've used is Premium Epoxy Resin in Deer Park VIC. dries within 24 hours and crystal clear. they deliver Australia wide.
Comin from the future 😜🤗you'll get better as ya go. Definitely would like to know if you would sell. Your products ya make. Have fun. Really enjoy watchin a few videos every morning with my coffee. I was told by a TH-camr that the likes and comments do a whole ... Whole lot to help your videos. So gonnactry to do that for ya dear. USA. TENNESSEE. SENDING YA EVERYTHING GOOD. 💌💞🙏🤗😘
The Science Geek in me really appreciate your showing us the process, formulas and outcomes. I love both flowers for their own uniqueness. Thank you and I look forward to seeing more videos like this one. 🌼♥️
These are absolutely gorgeous. Particularly the orange one, my favourite. I am glad it finally worked for you. I love your perseverance. Good job Julie 😺❤🤗💕
They are both lovely but I prefer the bone with the orange on the outside and the yellow in the middle. The back side looks like a sunflower with the glitter more spread out.Smashing!!
SO glad you reversed the colors, two experiments in one! I agree with you, the first one, with the larger petals in orange is much better than the other. I also love how a little of the glitter seems to have risen to the top, not all just sunk to the bottom in one blob! The look is very natural and realistic. Great experiment! Wonderful results! Thanks so much! Take care and stay safe!
It is so good , you really got me with this one because I really thought it was a real flower. This is why I asked you if your flower was fresh. I am really marvelled by what you can achieve . It looks much better on the top side than the was in the base of the mould. What about you reserve a bit if the centre and put a bit more on to . Like this you can get a nice centre both side. It is just a suggestion to try because I cannot do it myself. Well done Julie. I am proud of you
Hi Julie! I did flowers last night for the first time, with various thicknesses of clear resin, and the coasters with more resin, had a more 3D effect than the thinner ones. Don't know if Iit will be the same next time!
They look great. I'm the same, I weigh everything, I'm a lover of grams too, for accuracy. I have the mindset that if you don't weigh things accuractely, how can you replicate, how else can you 'tweak' quantities for future? Oh, with piping bags, I let my resin dry and then peel the resin out and use them again. I may even try making my own parchment paper 'piping' cones too. You're doing so well. I've been working with resin for 2 years, the last several months - I've been making coasters, I've had no end of difficulties with air bubbles on the edges. I switched resin brands yesterday - hardly any air bubbles! I couldn't believe it. Perseverance is the key, sometimes it's the brand of resin that just doesn't work for us. Stay safe x
When Julie goes, she goes All The Way!!!
There needs to be a cheer button so we can celebrate with you - love the flowers.
Thank you Julie, so pretty, cant wait to start playing.
Art warehouse sells the MAD resins

I love how you experiment with us
Very nice so whimsy-like on edges. Now I've got to try it ! The bigger center is more pleasing to my eyes

The ink helps with the reaction
Pouring Your Heart Out, yes, you still add a drop of ink to get the reaction.
Very informative. Thank you. Like the orange on outside one better as you do but definitely love them both. You’re awesome ❤️
It's beautiful ❤️😍😍😍😍
Love it
Love these.👍❣
Beautiful!!
Beautiful 🌻 When you heat the resin it becomes more fluid GREAT JOB 🧡💛🧡

These remind me of bachelor button flowers. I think it would be lovely with blue outside and darker blue or purple inside. Lovely coasters.
Love this

Thanks for the tip to wait til the resin thickens a bit. I'll try that as soon as my new resin arrives!
These are both very pretty in their own way. Two wins, I'd say!
Yes! Yes! Do more. These are beautiful. I've been trying to get this flower effect and it's so hard!
Nice! 🌸
Really like the orange one best. So happy for you.
💖💖💖👏👏👏 very pretty! I can't wait to try resin

So beautiful!
LOVE the one with more orange ink.
First one sunflower like..
Love these! And very cool adding the white to the colors.
Really really nice, I like them a lot.

K P I always wondered how you dispose
of the resin bottles I’ve always just put them in the rubbish bin 😯
Thank you for this! I had no idea 😲😲😲
I have a large metal trash can in my studio that I keep closed with a heaving lid. All the cloths with alcohol on them and the resin is a hazard.

These are absolutely gorgeous. Particularly the orange one, my favourite. I am glad it finally worked for you. I love your perseverance. Good job Julie 😺❤🤗💕
Really like those! Like the darker in the outside with lighter on the inside also.
Those are really pretty and look more like real flowers than any of any one I've seen. I think maybe mixing the white with the inks is what did it.
Love these.
They are both lovely but I prefer the bone with the orange on the outside and the yellow in the middle. The back side looks like a sunflower with the glitter more spread out.Smashing!!

Love them!! So delicate and wispy. I’d love to see more! 👋🏼🥰
I love your new introduction I think I will contemplate doing a flower for a bit longer before trying.
I love all your work. You are an amazing and sweet person. I have been kinda Learning from you. I'm a slow learner and afraid that I will waste money.
I love my heat gun, it's definitely my resin best friend, lol. These are beautiful flowers, well done! Yay!
These are stunning. I didn't notice the differences between them on the FB post. Such a good idea combined UK ng the paste with ink. Love these!
Beautiful 😍
I’ve got to try👍

Taking it out of the pink mold makes such a difference.
