Red Bush is an 80/20 malt to grain ratio Irish whiskey matured exclusively in first fill American bourbon barrels. This explains the soft, sweet creamy vanilla notes. It’s the same price as the standard white label but far superior in my opinion. No doubt it is marketed to bourbon drinkers and is extremely smooth. I have tried several Bushmills expressions and find Red and Black Bush the best bang for the buck!
Sad to say, but I prefer this over some Kentucky bourbons. This whisky is underrated. Several layers of Irish qualities with a hint of cinnamon/bourbon sweetness underneath. For 21-ish dollars, your going find it a pleasent dram. 👍
I think it was marketed towards the American bourbon drinking demographic, as it is exclusively made from first fill bourbon barrels. I quite enjoy it, although I prefer the sherried Black Bush.
Bushmills did NOT receive their license to distill in 1608. Bushmills wasn’t even formed until 1784 by Hugh Anderson. This fable all started when the original 17th century land owner was granted a royal license to distill on his land in 1608. Bushmills embellished their age by a mere 176 years. It’s the same kind of logic as saying that SpaceX was founded on July 4th, 1776!
Well that’s unfortunate that they put all that info on there bottles and its widely expected as truth. Thanks for clearing that up. Regardless of its origin its still a damn fine dram of whiskey. Cheers 🥃

I got a 750ml bottle for an outrageously-low price, and I love it.
Try Jamison coffee infused w/ Bailey’s Irish cream! I go with 1.5oz Jamisons and 2oz Bailey’s! Enjoy guys!

Nice to hear your thoughts, I'm not a big fan of the Red Bush. Lots of fruit and sugar for me. Not bad, just doesn't grab me. Cheers!
