I have NEVER grown beans in a garden, so this is my first time, and I turned 73 yesterday. I love this video for the information it gives me. I'm handicapped and use a cane, so I'm thinking that beans would be easy to grow around my squash and tomatoes. I understand it's easier than any other vegetable in the garden to grow. Why I never tried them was the harvesting. You really have to pick them daily if you plant a row of different varieties. Here is where the grandchildren come in. 😉

Do beans cross pollinate? And if so how do you arrange/ plan your garden. And, do you grow all of them?

So happy to hear that my purple pole beans can produce through the hot months coming up. Got a late start, just planted 6 weeks ago. Have baby beans starting to set within the last week. Growing in Fort Worth.

Thanks for sharing! You certainly encouraged me to try my hand at growing some different bean varieties besides the standard green beans.

Have you tried Rattlesnake beans yet? They are my favorite and seem to keep going all summer long in East Texas. Glad to know about the red noodle taste, I planted some this spring and some Liana yard long beans.
