Is there a way to turn off the exposure settings when making presets onto the SuperJoy? I know best practice is to get best exposure and color and white balance settings first then set the presets, but we have ran into week after week those stage lighting setups may change and we adjust the camera to match and get it looking good and then someone hits a preset thinking it will just move the camera but it reverts to a previous exposure settings and now does not look good again. It would be nice to have the option to turn off bringing exposure settings along when selecting a previously set preset and just use it to move the camera(s) we want them to point.

I have a similar problem but sort of the opposite where I made changes to color that I wanted to remain in all presets. When I went to the next preset and hit Apply and Set it looked good until closing the browser and coming back in, then it was back at the old settings. What I found is that the interface does not update with the next presets current settings so when I hit save, it was re-saving what was there before. The key seems to be when going to the next preset, hit the little refresh icon which is on my software but not shown on the software in this video. Doing that before changing and Setting the new preset looks like it may keep the updates. This was all done in the browser. This was a key piece of info that 2 PTZ support techs never mentioned during the support chats.

      Hi Ryan,
Currently, PTZOptics cameras do not offer a built-in feature to exclude exposure settings from saved presets. The best approach is to manually adjust exposure after recalling a preset or to check for any firmware/software updates that might offer more flexibility. Thank you for providing feedback to PTZOptics, as it might influence future product updates.

      Hello!
You've encountered a common issue with managing preset settings on PTZ cameras, particularly when using web browser interfaces for control. The key aspect you've discovered - refreshing the interface to reflect the current settings of each preset before making and saving changes - is indeed crucial for ensuring that your adjustments are accurately applied and retained. Here’s a more detailed look at the process and why it's important:
Understanding Preset Behavior and the Importance of Refreshing
      Preset Settings Storage:
Each preset in PTZ cameras typically stores various parameters, including color settings, exposure, pan, tilt, and zoom positions.
When you switch to a preset, the camera recalls these stored settings.
      Web Interface Synchronization:
The web interface should ideally reflect the current settings of the camera or the selected preset.
However, some interfaces might not automatically update to show the settings of a newly selected preset, leading to confusion or inadvertent re-saving of previous settings.
The Role of the Refresh Icon:
The refresh icon in the web interface is there to synchronize the interface with the current camera settings.
By clicking this before making changes, you ensure that you're adjusting the actual settings of the selected preset rather than inadvertently overwriting them with another preset's parameters.
      Best Practice for Adjusting Presets:
Select Preset: Go to the preset you want to adjust.
Refresh: Click the refresh icon to update the interface with that preset's current settings.
Make Adjustments: Adjust the color, exposure, and other settings as desired.
Save: Use the 'Apply' and 'Set' functions to save your changes to the preset.
Repeat for Other Presets: Repeat this process for each preset you wish to modify.
      Closing and Reopening the Browser:
Once adjustments are made and saved using this method, they should persist even after closing and reopening the browser, ensuring that your changes are effectively applied.
      Conclusion
Your discovery about the importance of using the refresh function in the PTZ camera's web interface before modifying and saving preset settings is a valuable insight. It underscores a critical step in the process of managing presets, ensuring that each adjustment is accurately reflected and saved. This method should be a standard practice for anyone using web interfaces to control PTZ cameras, providing consistency and reliability in how these cameras are set up for different scenes or events.

This is good information, but this issue that I am having with my 4K move PTZ camera is the auto tracking. The camera is used in a church and when we set the auto tracking on the pastor who is about 55 feet away, the camera will do its normal zoom out when the tacking is turned on and then the camera tracks nothing. It does not zoom back in at all. Of course, when the camera zooms out there are many people sitting down because we only try to turn it on when everyone else is seated. What can we do to fix this? We bought the camera specifically so it will track the pastor when he is preaching.

I changed the preset for 0 so that it frames where the framing starts when turning on auto tracking. Does that make sense?

is there a way to show how to set up one PoE camera to 3 Sony EDI-HV1. I seem to only get one Sony working with the one PTZ PoE camera but the other 2 aren't communicating as it is daisy chained. do I have to daisy chain from the NDI camera first before going straight to the serial port cameras. please give me some suggestions. thank you

    • @PTZOptics
      @PTZOptics  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Brandon,
Integrating PTZOptics cameras with Sony BRC cameras (like the EDI-HV1, assuming a typo, and referring to models like the BRC-H700, BRC-X1000, or similar) through the PTZOptics SuperJoy controller can involve a mix of network (for the PTZOptics PoE camera) and serial connections (for the Sony cameras).
The setup complexity arises from the different control protocols and connection types these cameras use. PTZOptics cameras often use IP control (especially when mentioned as PoE, implying network connectivity), while Sony cameras might require VISCA over RS-232 or RS-422 for control.
When you're mentioning daisy-chaining in the context of connecting one PTZOptics camera and three Sony cameras, it seems like there's a mix-up between network and serial connections. Here's how to approach this setup correctly:
For the PTZOptics Camera (PoE/IP Control)
Network Connection: The PTZOptics camera, being PoE-enabled, is connected to your network via an Ethernet cable. This connection powers the camera and allows it to communicate over the network. The SuperJoy controller communicates with this camera over the same network, using the camera's IP address for control.
For the Sony Cameras (VISCA Control)
Serial Connection for Control: Sony professional cameras typically use VISCA protocol over RS-232 or RS-422 for PTZ control. If your Sony cameras support VISCA over IP, you would connect them to the network and control them similarly to the PTZOptics camera. However, if they require serial VISCA, you'll need a different approach.
Connecting Sony Cameras via Serial (VISCA):
Direct Connection: If the SuperJoy supports direct RS-232/RS-422 connections, you would connect the first Sony camera to the SuperJoy controller using the appropriate cable.
Daisy-Chaining: To control multiple Sony cameras via VISCA, you can daisy-chain them using RS-232 or RS-422 connections, depending on what your cameras support. You connect the "out" port from the first camera to the "in" port of the second camera, and so on. However, this daisy-chaining is for the VISCA control signals, not power or video.
      Clarifying the Daisy Chain Setup:
You wouldn't daisy chain from the NDI camera to the Sony cameras, as NDI is a network video technology and doesn't carry VISCA control signals.
Your daisy chain for control signals should start from the SuperJoy controller to the first Sony camera, then from the first Sony camera to the second, and so on, using RS-232 or RS-422 cables.
      Configuration Steps:
Set Unique VISCA IDs for Each Sony Camera: Ensure each Sony camera has a unique VISCA ID so the SuperJoy can address them individually.
Configure SuperJoy: In the SuperJoy controller settings, specify the control method for each camera (IP for PTZOptics, VISCA for Sony), and ensure the VISCA IDs match those set on the Sony cameras.
Network Setup for PTZOptics Camera: Make sure the PTZOptics camera is correctly configured on your network, and the SuperJoy controller is set to communicate with it over the correct IP address.
      Troubleshooting:
If the Sony cameras aren't responding as expected, verify the VISCA cable connections, ensure the cables are functional and correctly oriented, and double-check the VISCA IDs and baud rate settings.
For the PTZOptics camera, ensure it's on the same network as the SuperJoy controller and that there are no IP conflicts or network issues preventing communication.
This setup requires careful attention to the details of each camera type's control requirements and ensuring that the SuperJoy controller is correctly configured to communicate with both IP-controlled and serial-controlled cameras. If specific model numbers or additional setup details are available, more precise instructions could be provided.

Hi! I am trying to set a slow tilt for ONLY ONE specific move (Let's say Preset 4 to Preset 5 - tilting from the lead guitar up to the guitarist's face). BUT, I want every other move to Preset 5 to be quick. Is that possible? Working with a SuperJoy and SDI 30X Camera (latest Gen, I think).

    • @PTZOptics
      @PTZOptics  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello!
With the PTZOptics SuperJoy Controller and an SDI 30X Camera, setting different speeds for specific preset transitions can be somewhat complex, as most PTZ cameras and controllers don't natively support varying preset transition speeds. Typically, a preset speed is global, affecting all transitions to that preset. However, there are a couple of workarounds you might consider:
Workaround 1: Manual Control for Specific Move
For the specific transition from Preset 4 (lead guitar) to Preset 5 (guitarist's face) where you want a slower tilt:
      1. Avoid Saving Preset 5 with a Speed: Instead of hitting Preset 5 directly, manually control the camera to perform the slow tilt.
      2. Manual Control: Use the joystick on the SuperJoy to manually tilt from the guitar to the guitarist's face at the desired slower speed.
This method requires manual intervention but allows you to control the speed of that specific movement precisely.
      Workaround 2: Intermediate Preset
Another approach is to use an intermediate preset to create a two-step transition:
      1. Create an Intermediate Preset: Set a new preset (let's say Preset 6) somewhere between Preset 4 and Preset 5.
      2. First Transition to Preset 6: Transition from Preset 4 to Preset 6 at a slow speed.
      3. Second Transition to Preset 5: Then quickly transition from Preset 6 to Preset 5.
      4. Adjust Speed Settings: Adjust the preset transition speeds in the camera or SuperJoy settings to match your desired slow and fast transitions.
This method creates a two-step process to simulate the effect of having different speeds for different transitions.
      PTZOptics Settings
      • Global Speed Settings: Check your camera and SuperJoy settings to see if there’s any feature that might allow different preset speeds. Some newer models or firmware updates might offer more flexibility in this area.
      • Firmware Update: Ensure your camera and SuperJoy controller are updated to the latest firmware, as updates can sometimes add new functionalities.
      Conclusion
While PTZ cameras typically don’t support different speeds for individual preset transitions, using manual control or an intermediate preset can be effective workarounds. These methods require a bit more effort but can achieve the desired result of having one slow transition amidst otherwise quick movements. Always ensure your firmware is up to date to take advantage of any new features or improvements.

How do I change the default preset when stopping the auto-track feature on the Move4k? Just purchased the the cam. Great product! It took me a while to figure out that the start tracking default is preset 0. Thanks in advance!

      Hello!
Are you asking how to change the preset so when the MOVE 4K camera stops auto-tracking, it does not go to the home position?
As of right now, you can't change that, but with the new firmware coming out the end of April, You will be able to!

@PTZOptics When I stop auto-tracking it does not go to the home position (asumming home position is whatever I set preset 0). After I changed preset 0 it appears auto-tracking now starts there but does not go back to the same preset when auto-tracking stops. It goes back to the default preset that came out of the box - which is now different than the home position (or preset 0).
I just purchased the camera a few days ago and have it installed in my church as the main camera. The firmware is up to date. Is this a malfunction? Should auto-tracking return to preset 0 when stopped?

How do we set the auto tracking zone to stop left and right? I only wanted to track at the front of the room. If someone walks off stage to the left I want it to stop and "lose the person" since they are too far left and then go back to the stage.
