I totally agree with you. As a boomer I regret new media were not available in my youth.
But what I did is surely listen to music in my target languages.
I don ' t know if I meet your taste but I owe my knowledge of french to George Brassens and my knowledge of english to the Beatles!
Unfortunately all tv movies were dubbed in Italian and foreign press cost a fortune.
Luckily I had a good public library to borrow books.

Reading books is very helpful though

In my church cell group,when it’s my turn to speak I could not be able to convey my points clearly.Iam becoming conscious of my language. My husband says I speak incomplete.I am not able stop translating in my mother tou hue in my mind and Iam forgetting the vocabulary that Iam learning. Iam feeling very low, that I become a fool infront of others.
