There are 9 members in this group. 1 chinese memeber is currently promoting in china due to political issues.
There is a leader. Name is Suho.
All the memebers have a position. Main vocalist, main dancer, main rapper. Nevertheless they can do it all. A main rapper can be also a main dancer. Its pretty usual in kpop.
Group debuted in 2012
It used to be a 12 member group. Divided into two sub units.
Exo-k (6 members which promoted in korea mainly, k stands for Korean) amd Exo-m (6 members which promoted in china mainly, m stands for mandarin language, in this sub unit only 4 out of 6 were actually chinese people- two more were Korean), it means their albums are released in two languages: korean and Chinese.
In exo-m the leader was kris (now known as rapper Kris Wu). In 2014-2015 : 3 members from chinese sub unit left. Due to the injuries and contractual problems with the agency.
And after that sub units were removed and there is one whole group Exo. With nine members.
Exo are mainly singers, but each of them have individual schedules too. Like acting, solo singing, presenting fashion brands, they are embassadors of beauty brand, composing and all. So in 2016 the sub unit called exo-cbx was created. (When other memebers were busy with their own schedule three members Chen Baekhyun and Xiumin were united into a sub unit- their names stand for C B X)
Since the end of 2016 the only chinese memeber Lay is mainly doing separate schedule and solo albums.

All EXO members can sing and dance. EXO is an all rouded artists. They can sing, dance, rap, write & produce, play music instruments, modelling and acting. They can do all type of genres, be it rap, hiphop, r&b, musical, instrumental, rock, ballads and EDM. I just discovered them and I'm obsessed with them so no hate here. But they don't write, produce their songs or create most of the choreography. Everything is done by the label and their employees. Only Chen and 2 others write sometimes. I've seen it in the albums credits and in online posts by fans. The label controls most of the creative process. Unlike BTS who have more freedom imo. No wonder 3 members left the group. SM won't allow it cause they say they have to keep up reputation. Pretty stupid since bts by doing their own things exploded internationally. Just saying.. As an artist you should be able to do what you want and express yourself. Tho they are amazing performers anyway

@@insomnijinx113 What were the things wrong about EXO? They don't write their own songs. Fact. Some members do tho sometimes but not as much as BTS. I brought them up because at the time bts were the only kpop group I knew well. I discovered exo through them. I love both groups equally so I'm not trying to say bts is better. Just that bts members have more influence as artists in the creative process while Exo are over controlled by the label. Despite that, exo has better vocals and dancers imo. As for the injury... Yes, 3 members left because of injuries but also because the label treated them like shit and Kris himself said in one of the latest interviews that he wanted to do his own thing and how he never thought being an idol would be like that.

The "bad guy" is Kai. The "Asia's First Love" and idol's idol. He is the "dancing king"
EXO is officially named as "Nation's Pick" and Korean.media labelled them as Kings of Kpop.
Their discography is very diversed they don't release the same music in every comeback. They can pull off different genre bec of their versatility. That's why they are among of Kpop's vocal powerhouse. This album is different from the usual Kpop trend but they nailed it.

Exo is a vocal group, all of them can sing and they sing beautifully. U shud listen to their live, especially the acoustic ones. They r the best singing group not just in kpop. Some of them can really rap, but all of them have mix roles, since they can all sing.
So yes they are all a part of the group and everyone did have lines in the song, just some more than others. In kpop groups members tend to have very specific roles that they focus on.
In Exo, pronounced XO, is a 9 member group that is currently promoting as 8 since their Chinese member isn't allowed to promote with them due to political tensions between South Korea and China.

Kai (Red) - Main Dancer, Rapper, Vocalist
Sehun (Black) - Lead Rapper, people debate whether or not he is now considered a lead dancer or a main dancer, and a sub-vocalist (he doesn't get many singing solo lines but he his in quite a few of the harmonies)

EXO is 9 member boy group. Every person in this video is in the group, there's no backup dancers lol. EXO has two main rappers (Chanyeol and Sehun), one lead rapper Kai, and one sub-rapper Xiumin. There's 4 members who can rap but mostly Chanyeol and Sehun do it. What's special about EXO is that even their main rappers can sing perfectly and they are known as vocal powerhouses of kpop industry.

FOREVER ETERNA-A FACT THAT HAS NO LONGER NEEDS ANYONE'S APPROVAL.
To say that in EXO someone is better and someone is worse is simply IMPOSSIBLE because absolutely every participant is unrealistically talented, this is literally an IDEAL GROUP. Every EXO group and solo album is on a completely different level to this day, even after 10 years of career. I am absolutely not afraid to say that EXO is a real K-POP, now there are countless groups in the fourth generation, but they absolutely do not stand out in any way, trying to focus more and more on the West and POP music, thereby becoming monotonous and disposable. EXO is the only band in the entire K-POP industry, by the way, to this day where literally every member sings amazingly, including rappers and dancers. Minute popularity does not determine the talent and legendarity of the artist, because even after 10 years of his career, EXO songs are literally sung by the whole of Asia, because EXO is the real K-POP. I will never stop admiring this amazing band, even if 40 years pass, let a billion more bands like bts be released, they will never surpass EXO because their music is timeless, this is what defines the legendary artist.

THERE IS A TOTAL OF 9 members but 9th one the only chinese member is currently promoting his chinese drama The Golden Eyes on top working on new music. Also, Xiumin [Shiu-min] the oldest of the group 😭 is going to be enlisting on Tuesday May 7th 2019 for at least 2 years and Suho the leader with also be enlisting soon as well (I don’t really know when that will be yet)
9th member name is LAY aka Yixing Zhang or Lay Zhang, sadly he wasn’t able to be present for this MV but SM company did edited him into EXO Tempo MV since he was able to attend their jacket album photoshoot

I first got acquainted with K*pop a year ago... I think the difference between K*pop and other music is in the dance. K*pop is famous for its dances. When I got to know K*pop, I first watched the music video and K*pop dance is attractive to me. And the next step was to look at the meaning of that song and if the meaning and dance of that music was good, I would listen to that music... until I met E*xo. For me, E*xo is music without subtitles, which means I don't need to know the meaning. I don't have their lyrics, I just enjoy listening to their beautiful voice and wonderful music. Whenever I want to see K*pop or listen to it, I listen to other groups' music or watch other groups' music videos. But whenever I want to listen to really good music, I only listen to E*XO.
E*XO has everything I like and expect from a very good music. E*XO dances very well and skillfully. E*XO has meaningful and beautiful music. E*XO has the best and most important characteristic of a singer group, which is the ability to sing. E*XO has the 8 best singers in K*orea. The 8 best vocalists in the history of K*pop. 8 vocalists and rappers. That means all the members can rap in addition to vocals. The power of the notes and the magical voice of E*XO members is not in any group. When they start singing, I am with myself. I say, are they really normal people? How can they sing so well and powerfully? It's as if they are extraterrestrial with a voice that comes from heaven.
E*XO can perform live music in such a way that you scream with excitement and surprise. They sing so strong and well that recently they protested to them not to perform live music so much and not to show off your good voice. In addition to singing, they are actors. They are also very good. In fact, E*XO are the most talented and best singers, actors, dancers, and models in the K*pop and K*drama industry... I admire many groups besides EXO and I like their music, such as Stray Kids, Ateez, seventeen, TXT, TNX, NCT, Black Pink, TWICE, Girls Generation, BTS, and... but E*XO is an unrepeatable legend in the K*pop music industry.
