The Xbox start up sound is my favorite first memory of the console. I have so many good memories based around this console. It really is still a strong console in 2021!
I was given an Xbox that was deemed “broken”. Took a TH-cam video, q-tips and running alcohol to clean the laser eye. I’m now getting into Xbox and all the great, cheap games this platform offers. Can’t believe it’s been 20 years!!!!
I remember playing my own music through the radio while driving a car in GTA. It was mind blowing. This console is probably my favorite console. And the fact that my and the fact that Microsoft just released 70 plus more backwards compatible games For the newer systems, it makes me so happy.
Yes to the Halo question. Alot if people go back and play through the campaigns and multi-player on original systems. Me included, but I also play it on the my Xbox One.
I didn't grow up with the Xbox in fact the 360 was my 1st Xbox. However collecting for the Xbox has been one of the most fun consoles because I can still find games in the wild and on the cheap. Awesome video!
Only console of the generation that could support 720p through component and supports up to a 3tb hard drive. Amazingly powerful and moddable console that deserves so much more love than it got.
My buddy had xbox and we played lots of halo. Splinter cell was the most amazing game I'd ever seen. The hiding in shadows and moving curtains were amazing. Later I was deployed to Iraq and halo 2 lan parties were awesome. Such a fun console I just started appreciating recently as well.
This is going to sound dumb but I love that you guys dont know absolutely everything all the time and admit it openly. So many other channels videos are heavily edited so they can make sure they have every single little fact.Sometimes its just nice to hear two real dudes talkin games.
Nice use of Rock's "& millions" at 12:25. I picked up an XBox within the past few yrs, didn't own one during Gen 6 (PS2 & DC then, some Gamecube). Love collecting for it! I purchased a second one within the past couple yrs for the possibility of using the LAN feature. Both purchase experiences were greatly memorable as the people who sold em' to me were extrememly cool letting me test them out until I felt fully comfortable purchasing. I also got them at great prices, both found through craigslist ads. Panzer Dragon Orta & Otogi are 2 of my favorites on the system. Looking forward to playing through Otogi 2! Great video guys! I love how you guys "style" your videos. Really feels more like I'm hanging out rather than watching a video. Keep it up!
I’m sitting here watching this video and nodding my head to everything you’re saying. You guys are dead on. Love your in depth conversations about gaming. Keep it going boys!!
Man the OG xbox was a powerhouse. The Games were the big deciding factor for a lot of people. Honestly I got one on day one and even did an interview with a local news station. They quoted me saying "A console can do everything, even make me breakfast in bed, but if it doesn't have the games people want to play, it will fail." I remember an interview with good ol Bill about people hacking the Xbox and he did not even seem to care. He just saw the sales numbers and laughed all the way to the bank. Yea the remote was the way to cheapen the Xbox, because the DVD codec license was expensive back then. You don't even need the remote, just the part that plugs into the system, or hack the system. I remember using the custom soundtrack in a few racing games, loved that feature. I wonder if the controller for the OG xbox harmed the nostalgia for it. I remember some crazy 3rd party controller that the black and white in the spot where you would find L1 and R1, and it works. I wish I could find that controller again. Yes the system is a tank but the average life expectancy of an IDE hard drive is 3 to 5 years, and even if you replace it without hacking, you have to find a lockable drive. I would always suggest T-Sop flashing the system so you can repair the system later on down the road. Lan parties were the shit back in the day, now you can still lan with XLink Kai. Look it up, and have a blast. Great video guys, always a blast.
I still remember buying my OG Xbox on new years eve 2001. Best buy had 2 consoles left and I picked one up with my gift cards given to me at Christmas. I bought dead or alive 3 and NHL hitz 2002 as my first games :-) happy birthday XBOX, thanks for all the continued memories!
After today there are soooo many games added to BC. It's sad some games won't come but it's awesome to know most of the library can be played today on a modern console without too much hassle
I didn’t mind those buttons because when the smaller controller came out that option was way better. OG Xbox is one of the best systems. Plus, bill took a bit on each system
Just started collecting for the OG Xbox, just the fact you have a few I can put in my Xbox One X and have enhanced graphics still blows my mind. Cheers boys! That Exorcist Tshirt is fucking awesome Wes too!
100% bought my first OG Xbox because of the "Dreamcast 2" angle. In fact I bought the system on the release date of Jet Set Radio Future for that game.
Yes!! Finally, I've bugging you guys all year for this. It was worth the Wait. Awesome Tribute Video Guys. This system will be very collectible soon. Happy Birthday Xbox. You were my favorite system of the 6th Generation. The Best Generation. Where you guys are from the Xbox maybe cheap, But its not cheap to collect for not in Canada The good shit will cost you now for sure. If you use Price Charting then it looks that way. But is Wrong when it comes to prices Retro shops are using ebay prices for everything now.
I'm a 39 year old fart, and the two game consoles that I have more Nostalgia for are the Sega Dreamcast and the OG Xbox..... a lot of good memories 🤘😁🤘🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻 cheer from South Florida guys, keep up the good work
Back in Gen 6 never had OG Xbox but roommate did (PS2 in ‘01 & GC in ‘05). Got my 360 in ‘06, XB1 in ‘17, and OG Xbox last year. I will say that after much debate the 360 is my favorite console of all time, hardware issues aside, due to the exclusives (Halos, Forzas, Gears, etc) games that appeared to be exclusive at release (Oblivion, Mass Effects, Skyrim, etc), ease of use for online co-op, and the fact that 3rd party games looked better with more consistent frame rate and much less screen tearing than my PS3. Assuming programming learning curve for the Cell. Having picked up 360/PS3 within a month of each other I will say I primarily used PS3 as a blue ray player the first couple years until the exclusives started rolling out (GOWs, Killzones, Uncharteds, etc.). Must have played 360 five times as much as PS3 in Gen 7 (Personal favorite here) in large part due to 360. XB1 has been a disappointment but really looking forward to collecting for the OG Xbox in the upcoming years so I can see what I missed and also re-acquiring some of my favorite 3rd party games I used to have back on PS2 during Gen 6.
GTA III and Vice City were PS2 exclusives for a little while, then Xbox got them in a double pack (which I own) and possibly sold individually as well. Love Vice City and didn't even play through the story on that one. Absolutely have enjoyed my time with Xbox for the last 18 years. Never got into playing it until 2003 and finally got my own in 2004. Loved it then and still love playing it today. Thanks for the Pat McAfee (and The Rock) reference. Happy 20th Birthday to Xbox and the millions AND MILLIONS of Xbox gamers and fans. Cheers 🍻
I have the GTA Double pack as well. Rockstar released the trilogy as well and a stand-alone version of San Andreas (at least here in the USA). They actually play really great due to the more powerful hardware of the Xbox.
@@EdsHead yep, the trilogy pack, which I just found out about that one in the past few weeks. Didn't know they ever did that and not sure if it happened after the 360 released or not. Trying out San Andreas for 1st time as I missed it the 1st time with the "cutoff" point between OG Xbox and Xbox 360. It's a little rough and maybe it's just because I don't have that experience with it like 3 and Vice City.
My friends and I all had Xbox's as teenagers, I got my first job at 13 delivering newspapers to get money to buy it. I feel like the Xbox would've flopped if it didn't have Halo, that game was a massive system seller (it's the game that convinced me and my friends to buy one). The Sega IP's like Panzer Dragoon, Jet Set Radio, House of the Dead and Crazy Taxi coming to the system was huge too and it has some amazing, and very undervalued, exclusive titles. I never regretted getting one over the PS2 or Gamecube back in the day and I still play it a lot to this day.
@SkyblueRob88 Yes, I agree as I also bought an Xbox because of Halo! I got an Xbox bundle that came with one of those 2pk games which had SegaGT 2002 and Jet grind Radio, & got Halo separate!!
ps2 was first for us! And now Xbox is growing on us! Was an awesome time to be alive because we found out all 4 consoles of the generation were 🔥! Cheers!
The original XBOX is my favorite system!!!!! So many GREAT games. I was in my 20's and 30's when I played it. The answer to the game system values is...... At the time, The Gamecube players were young kids, the PS2 players were teenagers and the XBOX players were adults. Fast forward 20 years, the XBOX players like me are close to 50 or more years old. Not normally game players anymore. So that also means the Gamecube players now are in their 30s and the PS2 players are now in their 40's. So the 30's are buying up their childhood.......40's not as much and the 50's even less....... So the XBOX game demands are way less.
Another fricken awesome video! Should we be expecting a 20 year anniversary video celebrating the Nintendo GameCube today? That would be fricken awesome too! I didn't own this console back in the day I had a PS2 and at the time thought I only needed one console. ( I would go back and punch the younger me in the face for thinking that!) lol. But I had one buddy who bought an Xbox back then and he loved it even though everyone else in my neck of the woods had PS3. Looking back I wish I had jumped on board back then. But now in 2021 I have multiple OG Xbox consoles and love collecting for it. It is so cheap especially here in my home city my local retro game store has a great selection of games and they are 2 for 1. Current I sit at 144 games for it. The consoles are pretty easy to come by as well. I fricken love the OG Xbox and thats coming from a pretty die hard Playstation guy. lol. After watching this video I fired up the old Xbox and played some of the launch titles to celebrate the 20 year. A little Halo, Madden 2002, Nascar Thunder 2002, NFL Fever 2002. Will be doing the same today for the Nintendo GameCube. Keep up the great work guys fricken love the channel! Cheers!
So many great memories of the OG Xbox! Ended up being my favorite from the stacked Gen 6. I got it shortly after launch while in high school so it holds such a special memory for me. Definitely agree that the multiplatform games run great on it! I agree, I always think of the GTA series as PS2 but I remember picking them up on OG Xbox later and preferring them on OG Xbox. Agree with the clock capacitor tip; it was very doable following other vids. So true about other OG Xbox users finding others! Halo party's! Great video guys!
GTA San Andreas was amazing on the OG Xbox!! It had better graphics better frame rate and the all time famous custom soundtrack by loading your Xbox hard drive up with music you could then choose that as a radio station in the game!!!
It is amazing that the Xbox actually did 720p games like Soul Calibur II, which looks amazing on an HD TV today! It was the first console that really did online gaming right. And it ran some games that looked so good they actually compete graphically with early Xbox 360 games, like Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate.
The first time I ever played the OG Xbox was in the summer of 2003 in Iraq. They had military stores in Baghdad for the soldiers and somehow this one store got in 6 Xbox consoles. The only game they got for sale was NBA live 2003. My buddy and I bought it and played the hell out of NBA live 2003, taking turns on season mode until we could get our hands on something else. Not many good memories of that summer in Iraq, but damn we had fun with that Xbox.
When I saw that all of the Dead or Alive games were going to be playable on my Xbox Series X I completely lost my shit! I still own all of them physically so I can't wait to revisit these games!
OG Xbox is certainly among my all time favourite systems. I got one close to launch here in Australia and have never really stopped playing or collecting for it since. I am working toward getting a complete PAL collection, all found in the wild. So far I am at 536 games. Still around 300 to go, but it is getting really hard and potentially expensive to get some of the rarer games.
The Rock & Gates, slingin' their Xcox! Funny enough, I just found an Xbox that had some issues. Had some broken traces on the mobo, but some bodge wires fixed it. That damn clock capacitor is the first thing I change when I get one. Even if I'm going to sell it, I want it done for preservations sake! It sounds like you guys are almost ready for an Xbox Collection Video...
If I’m not mistaken, Xbox had surround sound support that other consoles didn’t have. I remember being super excited to hook it up to my dad’s home theater system and I needed a specific type of cable.
Never had much love for Microsoft I had a PS2 one or two of my friends had an Xbox and we would play Halo every now and then I didn't really get into the Xbox until the Xbox 360. 7th generation oh boy three red rings of death but I'll still remember that Halo 3 launch that was such a great game same with the first three gears of war games and my first experience playing online games with friends from the comfort of my home cheers boys happy birthday Microsoft!
Awesome discussion guys! Halo is the game that got me onto the Xbox, I still love that console, even tho I fixed my unit like 4 times. Hopefully now it will outlive me haha.
I grew up with a launch Gamecube and 2004 Xbox. The Xbox stopped working after several years though, and sat collecting dust for over a decade. Just this year though, I finally figured out that the power/eject motherboard was the source of the problem and I replaced it accordingly. Runs like new now. Much less loved than my Gamecube and the larger game collection that I have for that console, though I am happily getting back into collecting OG Xbox games now.
OG Xbox was awesome. Grew up with it. Love it. I too had the same problem with the first run of them. Still love my OG Xbox. Awesome set of games. And they are cheap boys as you already know.
Funny enough guys, NFL fever is the reason I just picked up and original Xbox. I think it’s a really fun football game personally and remember playing it when I was a kid.
I just picked up an og Xbox and it’s something. I grew up at the tail end of the 360 and just started collecting and I’d have to guess that the reason it doesn’t cost as much as other consoles is because it’s not unique, the GameCube was followed by the wii and that isn’t very similar.
MVG does a great breakdown about his. Basically the NVidia chip used DivX for DVD playback. The cost to use this license on every xbox produced would have put the system over target price. So, In order to keep price down for a function MS didn't think many people would use, they offloaded the license key / fee to the DVD playback kit.
You couldn’t use dvds without the dongle and remote however if your Xbox is modded it’s u locked so you can use a regular controller to play movies……and when they brought the duke back out for Xbox one it plays the Xbox start up in the jewel of the controller which is bad ass
I did get an OG Xbox earlier this year. It's big. I put it on 480p and use my retrotink and it looks good. Luckily the clock capacitor hadn't leaked. Definitely took it out. Haven't soft mod it yet. I do want to so I am able to replace the hard drive before it goes bad.
I still remember a friend showing me that you could rip and play your own CDs in-game and that got me hooked. Then the modding potential was ridiculous! Xbox was a powerhouse for sure.
Yeah the first Forza Motorsport was on the OG Xbox. And a lot of the developers from the team who made Project Gotham Racing (Who evidently developed MSR on Dreamcast) moved over to form Playground Games who went on to create Forza Horizon. You can see the PGR DNA in those games.
I love the og xbox for the sega games aswell as halo. I love outrun on it and crazy taxi. I am not a die hard xbox fan but i love the og. I played kotor soo many times back in the day. I started gaming on a genisis then i had a ps1 then og xbox. Once i saw halo i knew i needed one. But the 360 let me down with all the tec issues i had with it. I loved my 360 while it worked and wasnt broken. After that i said no mote xbox systems outside of og.
The only thing I hate about the og Xbox besides the clock capacitor it’s the laser idk why but some Xbox won’t read either the silver disc most of them do but some won’t read the rare golden disc it has the similar problem the ps2 did with the blue disc
Halo perfected how first person shooters work in terms of how much health you get and the fact that you’re basically invincible if you can manage to not get hit to the point of being killed!! Halo is so popular because of its simplicity! You can only carry two guns at a time two different types of grenade and just everything about the game with simple and yet hard core! Every gun in the game was capable of straight up owning in a fight the balance was there the simplicity was there it was just truly a perfect lunch game and in my honest opinion the best launch game of all time!
Love the og xbox my biggest collection I have bc it is so cheap and such a great console. I love it even though didn't care for the xbox one and don't have a series x. I think I am at 230 games for it and don't think I paid at the most was around 35 to 40 for most expensive game in the set.
I started really getting back into my og Xbox about a month ago when I picked up an hdmi converter. Turns out that the original Forza was still in the system so I figured that'd be a good place to start. I played that game to hell back in the day. Anyway I was totally surprised by the "soundtrack", thinking man they picked some good music. Then it slowly dawned on me that no, these were from the albums I ripped to the hard drive. I totally forgot that was a thing over the years. And oh man Halo. Back around 2005/06 I used to participate in some Lan parties at my buddy's mansion (dad was a neurosurgeon). Usually at least 8 of us on at least 2 tv's, one being a massive hd ready crt. Whenever we got tired of playing we'd hop on the pool table. Great times. I remember picking up Halo 2 from the midnight release and the guy at EB Games asked me which version I ordered (regular) and he gave me the collector's edition, score. I totally skipped all my college classes that day to run through the campaign. No mention of Fable though? That was such a fun game, despite it's overpromising & under delivering. I remember going over to my buddy's dorm and playing that when it came out. I was impressed to say the least.
19:40 Heard this argument about replaying the original Halos on the channel and the answer is yes, most people still play Halo 1-3 constantly, the difference is the Master Chief Collection, which is more popular than any 343 Halo hands down. I still replay the Bungie halo campaigns fairly regularly with friends, so idk if its a fair comparison. But that being said, I've never been a big Nintendo fan besides the handhelds, and I also matured past a lot of "kid" orientated games fairly young because every kid wanted to be edgy and cool in the early 2000s lol As for the original titles being played on original hardware only Halo 2 is still vibrant and actively has online matches going thru XlinkKai daily with as much as 50 people on at one time, a far cry from the days of 2005 but its good to see people still enjoying the OGs. Not trying to start some Xbox v Nintendo debate like I'm a 13 year old just wanted to state my opinion on things, comparisons like this really vary a lot based on where people were and who they hung out around at the time, but something I'll never forget was seeing the Combat Evolved front cover sitting on the game store shelf and just being blown away I can't think of another game that impacted me like CE did so I gotta represent!!!
I had a very unfortunate bias against microsoft in the 90s and 00s, so I poopooed on the Xbox a lot back then. 3 or 4 years ago, a buddy just gifted me an OG Xbox with like 19 games and I beat Halo before it turned 20. I’m very impressed with the old Box. The S Type controller is shockingly comfortable (still big, and Gamecube’s still the best). I got a Duke, I’m buying games for my students to get exposed to. It’s pretty great.
By the way when to mod the Xbox you can install the app to control the DVD player with the controller. You can also program the DVD remote to control the Xbox UI 😀 useless but fun
I'll never understand the white/black button placement on the s controller. They should have just placed them similar to the duke, but smaller. I actually use the duke for that one reason if I can't play the game on the 360.
I’m mainly a sports gamer, and I prefer the Maddens and NCAA football games in the Xbox. I thought the other sports games though were better on the PS2. I mean how can you argue with the ps2 when they had an Arena Football game - the second and last one - where you could be the Iowa Barnstormers :)
The OG Xbox was so special, especially having one as a teen. I always wondered why today in 2023 the classic games are dirt cheap & 3rd party games performed best on that console though 🤔 I was debating on a PS2 but the Xbox draws more my attention
@GamingOffTheGrid Don't get me wrong I love the PS2 but oh lord them prices on certain titles be hurting my eyes & wallet Lol 😆💰 Luckily my Xbox 360 is backwards compatible with the official xbox hard-drive, definitely will look at what titles to get and relive again!
I think that Xbox game pass has some thing to do with it. Maybe. I also think that the PlayStation had such a jump ahead and Xbox could not keep up. The Xbox 360 did better. PlayStation had better exclusives. Great video.
Great video guys! However, my Xbox decided to have a different kind of 20-year celebration. It is starting to crap out on me. The system is starting to say all games (clean or not) are dirty/damaged and unreadable. Open and close a few times and it will then run a game and then gamble that it will stop at any point. Hooray, my Xbox is doing its best NES impersonation. Guess I'll have to try cleaning the laser eye and hope for the best.
For a celebration you are ragging on a lot of negatives. The black white buttons are fine, the exclusives are brilliant and replayable. The console is reliable and the duke rocks!
I wish that the Xbox memory cards were more useful. Most OG Xbox games cannot be copied to the memory card. Makes it frustrating when one harddrive fries, because transferring memory is virtually impossible. Thats definitely an edge for every other console that generation. But really, thats the generation where couch co-op mostly died off. Maybe it was a sign of the times
its cheaper on xbox cuz ppl don't care about xbox lol. Most ppl was wondering why I bought an xbox when it came out and told me it sucks lol. I also like the duke controller
Ironic that the rock announced the Xbox and Xbox consoles worldwide would become a literal rock due to RRoD and clock capacitors. A little birthday roast for the Xbox.
The reason that Xbox is cheaper overall to collect for is because the brand simply isn't as popular as PlayStation or Nintendo. Especially over here in Europe it seems like nobody gives a shit about the Xbox brand.
Not trying to double dip you think mabye ten years from now the rarity will push the og xbox to collector demand. Mabye just one to two you tuber promotion away from going crazy. Mabye grab the rare titles and their are d as one rare consoles halo edition and I recently missed out on a Mountain Dew edition locally on Facebook.
Dudes, you know I love you guys, I ain't no troll, but supply and demand has something to do with the price of these games. The Gamecube sold okay worldwide, the OG XBox sold well in the US and NOWHERE else. So here in the US, XBox games are still somewhat cheap and GC games, which didn't sell well in the US, are more expensive. But hey, the truth is that a big part of GC process is the fact that it's Nintendo and the quality of their hardware and software fosters an absolutely RABID fanbase.
We don’t really either. At the time it came out we were all in on the PS2. But have had a blast collecting for it over the last 3 years though. We definitely missed a lot. Awesome console. Cheers!
Microsoft moved on it from it to fast in my estimation.. which might be the reason for the lack of nostalgia.. It was my second console that gen had a GameCube in 02 and then an Xbox in 04.. Was cutting edge and the shit compared to PS2 and GameCube multi plat wise.. haha yes I had the DVD kit.. that remote was great though.. But for a console to come out in 01 then the next is 05. That’s to soon.. Honestly 6th gen ended way to early.. That generation had tons of games across 3 platforms and ended after 4-6 years.. While gen 7 and 8 have nowhere near the amount of good games and dragged on 7-9 years each.. I mean there’s still new games coming out for PS4 and Xbox One a year into this gen.. 8 whole years later. It’s nuts..
I said this on an older Xbox video but it bares repeating now. Imo the og Xbox isn't as collected because of the high failure rate of the system, if the disc drive doesn't die then the cheap electrolidic capacitors will pop and eat the board or the hard drive will die and on top of all that since it already has a hard drive it's really easy to just mod and load games onto or or or you cab play most the good games from the Xbox on pc. So I think it's a handful of reasons. Also I had a Xbox back in the day and I loved it I argued with all my ps2 friends about what was better and the argument was tied when I only had halo but then the gta games came out on Xbox (previously my ps2 buddies best argument) and I had all my weird al Yankovic loaded onto my Xbox so my grand theft auto games had better graphics, shorter load times and weir al, take that ps2 bois
The Xbox start up sound is my favorite first memory of the console. I have so many good memories based around this console. It really is still a strong console in 2021!
That start up is among the best ever. PS1 still holds the top spot for me though :).
@@GamingOffTheGrid agreed.
I can't believe it's been 20 years I was 16. Love the XBOX and you guys. Thanks again for the CDs.
I was given an Xbox that was deemed “broken”. Took a TH-cam video, q-tips and running alcohol to clean the laser eye. I’m now getting into Xbox and all the great, cheap games this platform offers.

So damn fun to collect for right now for sure. Hope all is well. Cheers!

7:45, if i remember correctly yeah you had to have the dvd controller and plug in to play dvd's.
That Xpac song thrown in there popped me hard. 😂
LOL! We were wondering how long it would take for someone to notice that :). We love it! Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid I always notice when u guys throw in the wrestling references. I love it. Always makes me laugh. LONG LIVE THE XBOX
Great video! I just picked up a super clean like new Xbox w/ 3 controllers for $25. Enjoying the few games I have so far!
Nice use of Rock's "& millions" at 12:25.

Happy Birthday XBox!!

Back then I had a Gamecube and PS2. My first exposure to Xbox would be with the Xbox 360, which made me a fan for life.
Love the OG Xbox! It’s the largest library of games in my collection. Great video guys! Cheers 🍻
OG Xbox is one of my all time favorites
Epic console for sure. We have really been enjoying it. Cheers!

@SkyblueRob88
Yes, I agree as I also bought an Xbox because of Halo! I got an Xbox bundle that came with one of those 2pk games which had SegaGT 2002 and Jet grind Radio, & got Halo separate!!
The cube was the first for me. Xbox is growing on me
ps2 was first for us!
That's a great point. Really hope the market stays low :). Cheers!
Cheers!
Thanks man!!! Game Cube version was out like a month ago. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid Damn that one got by me. lol. I'll be checking it out today!
You had to have the remote to watch DVDs. They were behind on that but they did get conker
the o g Microsoft Xbox will always be my favorite videogame system
Its a hammer and we have grown to love it more the last 5 years!
LOL I KNEW YOU HAD SOMETHING PLANNED from your response last night lol. Good job
:)! Happy XBOX day brotha!
Happy Xbox Day to you fine gentlemen as well
When I saw that all of the Dead or Alive games were going to be playable on my Xbox Series X I completely lost my shit!
I love OG Xbox
Get an OGX360 adapter to use Xbox 360 or Xbox One controllers with the OG Xbox :)
The Black and White buttons are mapped to LB and RB
That is good to know :)! Cheers!
I still have my two modded X-Boxes 3 ft. away and it's still a great a system.
The first forza motorsport was the one and only forza game on the original Xbox. That’s where both series got their start.
20 years.... i am old.....
11 out of my 12 OG Xbox are working fine!
LAN parties were awesome. Miss those days.
Love the Xbox. Got mine working today for the 20th Anniversary. Gonna drink a cold one and play some halo.
There’s a solid port of the original rollercoaster tycoon for the xg xbox
I’ve always wanted too get ahold of that one
You did need the remote and dongle to watch DVDs on Xbox. Some people think that’s one reason why PS2 sold so much better than Xbox.
I thought so. Otherwise I wouldn't have it :). Cheers!
@@jediguy634 interesting, I didn’t know that. That’s interesting and makes sense why they’d paywall the dvd function due to licensing
@@jediguy634 Thanks, I'll have to check that out later. Do you recall which video this is?
I never was able to watch DVDs on my Xbox due to owning a PS2 and not wasting the $29.99 retail that it costed for the “DVD playback kit” for Xbox..
Happy 20th birthday Xbox
This is what made me collect for Xbox is because it is so easy and cheap to collect 4
It still looks futuristic 😂
Forza on the OG XBOX has better Physics that anything made after Forza Motorsport 3!!
Girth Brooks! 🤣
But that being said, I've never been a big Nintendo fan besides the handhelds, and I also matured past a lot of "kid" orientated games fairly young because every kid wanted to be edgy and cool in the early 2000s lol
As for the original titles being played on original hardware only Halo 2 is still vibrant and actively has online matches going thru XlinkKai daily with as much as 50 people on at one time, a far cry from the days of 2005 but its good to see people still enjoying the OGs.
Much love GotG love this channel and community!
I'll stick with burnout on my ps2i got 2 copies of three plus all the others. I even got dominator the psp port
We are in a similar boat! Last 4 years we have fallen in love with the OG Xbox! Cheers!
Ya it was an odd choice for sure. Wish they would have RB & LB to the S controller. Cheers!
I think the price thing might have to do with people not wanting to collect for the XBOX generally, and also not liking the bulky controller.
Yeah you can alot of the same games for better prices on the Xbox! 🍻
Everyone talks about the 360’s red ring of death but I went thru three XBOX’s bc they wouldn’t read discs.
FYI, there is a Forza on the OG Xbox. I believe I have it as a dual pack game with Halo 3 ODST
That would be xbox 360 you are thinking of with the halo 3 odst. But there is Forza Motorsport on the original xbox.
@@Dazedgames4201 you're right bro, my bad. Lol
They're all great games that i own though. Love the xbox and 360. I always recommend people who like forza to play the crew. Such i good racing game

I bought one just so I could play conkers live amd reloaded
Collect for xbox right now lol. Got one for 30 bucks with 50 games
Respect to all the Xbox heads
Well i have an original Xbox with a bad disc drive let that be your first 😂 👍
its cheaper on xbox cuz ppl don't care about xbox lol. Most ppl was wondering why I bought an xbox when it came out and told me it sucks lol. I also like the duke controller
Hey whatever it takes to be cheaper! But Xbox has its own following so some people do care! The duke is awesome big ol chunky monkey! Cheers!
I read somewhere that Microsoft sold the rights of the Xbox platform to Nvidia recently...
Ironic that the rock announced the Xbox and Xbox consoles worldwide would become a literal rock due to RRoD and clock capacitors.
A little birthday roast for the Xbox.
I think game pass has hurt there resale games because it has so many games on it from all comsoles
The reason that Xbox is cheaper overall to collect for is because the brand simply isn't as popular as PlayStation or Nintendo. Especially over here in Europe it seems like nobody gives a shit about the Xbox brand.
I'm in the UK and love the fact no one cares about it. That's how i got an amazing Xbox collection!
It will be interesting to see what happens with the XBOX market. Dude, the MD version is so damn Sexy. Hope to find one someday. Cheers!
I got no nostalgia for the OG Xbox it's a sweet system though now.. I was all about Nintendo still at that time
We don’t really either. At the time it came out we were all in on the PS2. But have had a blast collecting for it over the last 3 years though. We definitely missed a lot. Awesome console. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid we say "Salute" in my Italian household! That means cheers in Italian! Thanks for answering
@@jetfryl9831 Nice!!! Not Italian but love Italian food and of course the movies :)
It’s nuts..
I think that for people the Gamecube supports progressive scan mode in a lot of their games as well as the controller!! lol
💯
