Mate your a legend I work on cars and it’s frustrating but you are something else working on hgvs my dad keeps saying I should transfer over as it’s better money but all I keep thinking is the size of the parts would be a killer
Genuinly a very good lesson there, I work on cars but have an exmod DAF with air brakes so this was a good lesson for if i ever need to change them. Thankyou
If you apply the secondary brake slowly which will be the handbrake, Am I right in saying that this applies air to the service part of the chamber and when the handbrake is fully applied the parking side of the chamber exhausts all air to apply the spring ?
The brake down curse! We haven’t done bad with rain this year..... saying that it’s rained for two days now! And we’re outside again today 😆 cheers Carey
@@irish-thinker4429 I used to look after a few mobile cranes.... mate they are a struggle! We used to call it - playing the crane game 😆 nightmare Carey, keep struggling mate 😅
So, if you apply the brakes and air goes in port 2, its the air applying the service brake, and the spring stays retracted? If you operate the park brake or have a sudden loss of air, it's the first port that depressurises and the spring applies the brake?
That’s the best way for removing chambers exactly how I do it. No winding brakes off against the air pressure and leaking air all over

That's correct mate yeah.
Doesn't work if the fault is that parking brake release pressure leaks into the service brake chamber.
Which is the case with my DAF.
Why there was a need to replace this brake chamber, was it leaking?
Yeah it was leaking when the footbrake was applied!
👍
I know how to produce spring brake chamber
That’s how I do them to, no fcuking about job done
We’ve not got time for dilly dallying Andy 😁👍
