Mvh Lasse

    Thank you, for sharing. Before I watched this video I only had knowledge of Lost Wax and Lost Foam method of casting. I really like the Sand Method. I think it is faster and probly less expensive the wax and plaster.

      Sorry for late reply. Yes, it´s hard work, but a lot less expensive, since you can reuse the sand (lead doesn´t burn the sand very much) for a long time.

    Your tutorial clip is just what I need for a first attempt at sand casting my model yacht lead keel. One question, what does the release agent consist of?

      It's a powder. Nikt in Swedish. I think if you Google sand casting release agent, you will find it

    molten lead and nephew in flip flops and socks, lol at least it didn't go badly for him! That was a lot of lead to be sure!

      As long as everything is dry, but I admit, safety gear is good to have.

    The Video is only 12 minutes long, I'm sorry if I messed up. I'm new to the video editing...

    The video was awesome, as for your cavity... could you use a vent pipe at the high point of your model...?

    • @LarsLindqvist
      @LarsLindqvist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it would help. I have also learned that how hard you pack the sand impacts the result too. But a vent pipe would definitely help. Thanks!

    Very interesting video, hoe you enjoyed your day off. However, some video of actually lifting the casting from the sand would have been helpful rather than just removing the sand.

      Thanks! I'm self taught. I find sand casting is a great and cheap way for me to produce my model boat keels
