Odin Leather Guitar strap build

- I've always wanted to know how to play guitar. I even bought one a few years ago with high hopes of teaching myself how to play. Needless to say, it's been a few years, and I still haven't learned to play. However, I did design my own leather guitar strap so I could at least look the part. LOL.
In this video, I walk you through my process for using my guitar strap template/pattern set to make one for yourself or a friend - a link to the acrylic template set is below. You can select softer chap-style leather, English Bridle, or other tannages to adjust how soft or stiff the strap is. In this video, I use a medium to firm temper water buffalo leather with a 3oz Hermann Oak saddle skirting to line it. The finished piece has a great heft to it while remaining soft and pliable.
Let me know what you think of the video - the project, style of the video, length, editing, etc. This is our first video release in almost a year and the first one in our new workshop space in Lewisville, Texas.

Fine looking strap Sir.
Brilliant! This video was so well done
3:15 The level of detail is very helpful.
Been waiting for Odin to show us another project. Beautiful
More to come!
Did you check out the wine tote video from a couple weeks ago?
Absolutely stunning like always. Art to its fullest form. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you so much 😀
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Hello! This is very beautiful work! Good to you! 👌
Thank you very much
Love the color of that buffalo.
Me too! The grain, color and temper of the leather look great. We’ll be making rifle slings out of it too.
Just discovered this channel. Looking forward to new videos
Fantastic job and video 👍
Thank you so much!
absolutely beautiful work. can you tell what material you have on your bench top?
Beautiful work, can i ask what is your white cutting surface please?
Hi! Beautiful strap!! Can I ask what punch you used for the slots or if you have it linked already? Thanks!
Nice video, liked it a lot. I did like at all the tools you have listed. What is the knife you used to block cut your leather? Looks very nice and sharp.
The trim knife I used was from Makers Leather Supply. It’s a great little knife. Here’s a link - makersleathersupply.com/collections/makers-tools-and-knives/products/the-little-helper-knife
Another great video and leather work! Where can a guy find that stitching gauge attached to your sewing machine? Also what size needle do you use for a project like this? Great work again.
Check with with the Leather Machine Co. They should have that guides. I normally use a size 22 needle with 138 thread on this machine.
Hi there sir.
What type of leather and what thickness for a belt should I get for jeans that will last decades?
I know nothing about belts.
Do they make them out of one piece of leather or 2 glued together? Which will last longer?
Which type of animal leather is the best?
Thank you.
When making products, how do you know what to charge people?
The link doesn’t work for the template. Do you still sell it
Brother where did you get that template
I make and sell these templates on my website. I hope you give it a look. Here’s a link - odinleathergoods.com/collections/acrylic-templates.
Please add the music into your list of everything!

Wonderful craftsmanship! It looks very dark in your shop. Do you have it like that all the time, or just for videos?
Things do look much darker in this video than they actually are. In the evening to do tend to turn off the lights in the retail store, but the workshop remains fairly well lit.
