      It’s an awesome battery! Planning to use it some for the house system with dc to dc charger so I can rob energy from it on rainy days from the cart!

    Looks like you are use to working with sheet metal. Definitely a quality built battery. It would be a very nice battery for a off grid build as well. Very impressed! Thanks for sharing the tare down !

      It’s better than most server rack batteries I’ve used! The contactor based BMS instead of mosfets is very nice!

      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD yes I like that as well. I like contactors because I am use dealing with them in my line of work.

    I’ve got a buddy that used an old golf cart battery to make a solar party barge. Didn’t realize they made big packs like this

      This mosasaur is definitely lots of energy for your golf cart or solar power system. I’m planning to set up a dc to dc charging system to rob power from the cart back to the house on rainy days!

      Hopefully they will stick around, using the battery on 48V system currently until I get time to finish up switching the golf cart over. Has good capacity will have to see about load handling ability in the cart! Thanks for stopping by Tobi 👍

    Do you know which manufacturer makes the BMS for this battery? Is it DALY or JBD or some other? Thanks for the video!

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      JBD AP21 series jiabaida-bms.com/products/jbd-smart-bms-7-21s-8s-16s-20s-200a-communicate-with-uart-bluetooth-or-rs485-function
      It’s contactor based. No problems with large current draw. Hope this helps!

    why not use cheaper 12v LiFePO4 in series to be cost effective?

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Trouble is finding 12V that have a heavy duty BMS to handle the load of a GC motor. Also the Mosasaur comes with a 20A smart charger plus a display and no balance issues from a series string of 4X12V. A balancer would be required on 4x12V. Hope this helps!

    • @DemoNelzy
      @DemoNelzy 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD Do you have a certain balancer I should use? I'm going to try the 4-12v batteries in series for cost and the piece of mind if one battery goes bad.

      LiTime balancers are great keep batteries within 0.01 V I use them daily. Think I have a link in description. They’re 55-65 bux depending if there’s a coupon code. Hope this helps

    My same battery keeps dying at 50%??? Leaving us stranded at 50%

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Possibly erroneous State of Charge calculation through the BMS.
      What is your voltage when this happens? Below 50V and the battery is empty and the above assumption is correct.
      If this is happening at 52-53V it may be a safety in the battery. Hope this helps!
