This is NOT the only place this happens. Tybee Island sometimes creates this sort of thing in what is known as The Triangle just south of the island where the Back River runs out to sea on ebb tide. The incoming waves from different directions meet and create what is locally known as a “zipper”. Very similar to the waves in this vid.

Watch & Listen to the video. They are very rare. They do happen in other remote islands But we can only see them from that one place in France. If you go to that location and you get lucky you can see the square waves from the nearby lighthouse or from above. 😀
It's better if this has animation explanation on how dangerous the waves were or what really happens in the water when this occurs. I think it's understandable that way.
Actually if I’ve seen this occurrence else where. I even have a video recording of it. I went on a trip to Point Pelée located in Leamington Ontario. At the very end where the land starts to narrow, the waves clash exactly like this. It’s also known as the Tip of Canada. The riptides are so strong there too
Fun fact. You can survive a rip current by swimming horizontally against the current and will eventually make it out. Then u swim far away from the rip current. Or simply float on your back and you will eventually stop being pulled by rip current

Facts verse presents ... facts verse vids are nothing but crap !
l o l .😂
Lmao
Lmao
I’m weak
To save you time:
It’s essentially a riptide and you’ll get stuck. (Current will pull you out to the ocean and under water, likely drowning you)
Edit: lol I didn’t know people were actually gonna see it but yw to everyone who said thank you; glad to help 😌
“Getting out of the water before the waves start to form this pattern..” so basically getting out when the water looks absolutely normal???? LOL
If you see square waves in the water find someone to play Tic TacToe with.
Lol good idea, Rene!
Immediately hahahaha
Like get a drone and play Tic Tac Tocean?
I appreciate Dickey sticking is head and arm out while providing the “really big sharks down here” update.
Thanks for watching! We're glad to know that you love our video. What other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
You talk too much just get to the point and explain further the issue!
matet gaturian Right

How tf am l supposed to do that?
TheWakeup011 swim out of it? Obviously
@@Johnny-ri1wz swim out of what? The rip tides? Right on it....
I get that the title will attract viewers, but it's terrible advice. Hopefully everyone watches the video in it's entirety.
TheWakeup011 don't fight the riptide? Swim diagonally towards the beach?
@@Johnny-ri1wz well shit Johnny you should have made a video.
🤣🤣
Since fact verse just saved everyone lives, with there beautiful gifts of knowledge. here is some more brilliance , This might not be as good as the Fact verses wit’s,
But here it is,
If you are outside , and get stuck in the rain, go back inside the house if you wanna get dry again. ✌🏼
Your welcome,

“Most of our planet is covered by water...”
Who is this news to?
To be honest it's something im aware of but somehow being reminded helps a lot. Sometimes I forget how small my everyday life problems are vs this great world's problem.

@@crimz365 dude I was living on Jupiter (dont ask how I didnt fall through)
who's seen square waves cause I havent
Me
Watch & Listen to the video. They are very rare. They do happen in other remote islands But we can only see them from that one place in France. If you go to that location and you get lucky you can see the square waves from the nearby lighthouse or from above. 😀
Natasha Sanders I haven’t XD
I have seen one

How the fuck you see one wave 🤔🤔🤔🤔😔
It never fails... videos like this keep me up for an extra 5 hours, I should of been sleep 10 hours ago
Couldn't find a better source to waste time.
Jasmin.. Youre an Idiot. This video is so bad lmao
So...So.....True though lol
@@SirKolass So why did you have to go and waste more time then by reading through the comments and then make one yourself lol stooge
@@sammysmibert3130 Because reading the comments is entertaining, while this video is not.
Summerized- Intersection of 2 seas, rip tide extremely powerful. There now you don't need to wait 10 minutes to hear it
It's better if this has animation explanation on how dangerous the waves were or what really happens in the water when this occurs. I think it's understandable that way.
Next time...
If you see water, get out immediately!!
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Best comment ever👊
Him: the wave is the cause of how the water is moving
Me: *surprised pikachu face*
Waves are uplifting of water from obstacles under water. Waves are made by currents brining water to land surface and water being forced upwards.
if you see squares in the water...
YOU'VE OFFICIALLY HAVE REACHED MINECRAFT
Psalm channel this comment made my day 🤠
Square in the water? Spongebob
No acctualy it means
*THE EARTH IS FLAT*
Good English my dude
Actually if I’ve seen this occurrence else where. I even have a video recording of it. I went on a trip to Point Pelée located in Leamington Ontario. At the very end where the land starts to narrow, the waves clash exactly like this. It’s also known as the Tip of Canada. The riptides are so strong there too
If you ever see squares in your waffles, run and yell for help!
Rip breakfast
COOLSWAT295 loved it
Aw but my waffles have triangles XD
😂😭
😂 OmG you made my day !😂
Lol
Fun fact. You can survive a rip current by swimming horizontally against the current and will eventually make it out. Then u swim far away from the rip current. Or simply float on your back and you will eventually stop being pulled by rip current
I'm new here, and 10 seconds of the video i thought i was watching advertisements. His voice sounds like it. You know, those razors, chopping boards, knives advertisements 🤣🤣🤣
He sounded to me like the PragerU guy. I dont know if you have got those ads.
If you see star shaped waves in the ocean,
Patrick is telling his ugly barnacle story again
When I saw the title I was confused because of how many years I've been swimming in the ocean iv never seen this before (btw I'm from Los Angeles)
Sorry to hear (where u are from that is)
It only happens on a island off of France
Saw dude
I'm sorry
Jordan Santos so am I LA rules I born there
So basically the waves periodically sync up in an interference pattern to form a quadrilateral shape that is near square if not for the slight curve of the waves. Wow Tesla really did say think in waves and frequencies if you want to understand the universe.
If you see Big Smoke, order a Numbah 6 with extra dip.

wow, this video is super informative and really well done! i had no idea about the dangers of square waves until now. but honestly, i wonder if the warning might be a bit overblown? i mean, aren’t waves just part of the ocean’s natural behavior? some people might just freak out thinking every irregular wave is a threat. just a thought!
