I have a tip. when I approach a camp I need to take over I set my arrows on fire and burn the horn trees so they can't call for back up. (use your hunter vision to spot the horn trees or take out the horn blowers that get tagged) after that I send my owl in to tag all the enemies I need to kill so none sneak up on me.
I do wanna add 1 (it kinda goes under loot everything) Harvest everything. I would constantly find myself running out of arrows and spears and needing to make more and not having enough materials, so anytime you spot an alder wood or a slate, harvest everything! Also when doing the special beast missions (snow blood wolf, bloodfang, great scar bear) the hunting traps around the arena are you best friend, whether they do damage or just trap them in place, it gives you a few needed seconds to either heal or to get some much needed hits in. Also don’t tackle boss fights too early. I found myself trying to kill Ull with a mid way upgraded club, regular fur clothes, and 24 arrows. And no meat. I rage quit… My last tip, when doing a boss fight. Over prepare, if you think your over preparing, you’re likely under preparing. These boss fights will drain material and weapons.
Don't just go for beast master skills, or just gathering, or just health, because you will be good with the one thing, but your other skills will still suck. Try to get better at your skills evenly. And also: Try and do most of the missions tagged in orange, they have the best awards!
8:31 I would to be careful of not hurting your companion. As far as I remember if you hurt them too much they stop being your companion and turn against you (Happened to me once when I tried to kill the enemies and accidentally hit my companion). You can kill them and then respawn them, but if your weapons and health aren't fully upgraded then it can be a pain the ass to kill a Sabretooth or a Bear that just became hostile, especially if you're in the middle of conquering a post.
Tip: you can alter the time hunter vision is on for. Say you want 10 seconds, go to settings and set it up. Maybe 30 seconds? Set it up. Maybe you would prefer to be able to toggle it on and off, set it for infinite time. Then just hold the button till it toggles on and off.
Just picked it up for like 10 bucks…my first far cry game…pretty excited even tho it’s an older game…crazy how old videos can still gain traction on here
I've played for about 9 hours now, and it's pretty interesting. Seeing as how this is a Ubi game, it does have bloat, but so far, it's still pretty fun. Having companion tames is probably the thing i enjoy most right now.
I found that being able to make the owl drop bee bombs and the rot ones in a position where you’re hidden you can take out the pretty hard areas without getting into too much work, especially if your owl can dive and take out elite enemy’s
+Rob_a_dob Thanks guys - you are both very welcome, have fun I'm one trophy away from platinum now, will be streaming it hopefully on Wed night about 19:30 UK Time if you can make it, no story spoilers of course :)
Good tips. I would also mention that you have disabled auto aim. Another good tip is to disable the pickup/skin animations and tracking steps animations. I have set the hunter vision to infinite so I can toggle it instead of having to turn it back on all the time when I'm collecting items. All personal preference.. This game is a blast, I can't believe I didn't get it sooner.
thanks for all the tips. when I first got this game I didn't know whether to love it or hate it. ubi doesn't explain much so these videos really help. I know there is a help section in the game. I'm one of those people that read a manual before tackling something. after 10 hours into the game I gotta say I love it even though I get frustrated sometimes, but then that happens with everything. it's a great concept from the developers and different than other games. only thing I don't like is not knowing if I need one of the flashing resources. I can never remember what's full so I just try to pick it up. it would have been nice if it automatically showed only the resources you need
Hey Chris, no problem glad it helped and that you're enjoying the game, I loved it had a lot of fun playing this and thats a good call for resources, only flash when you need it! Ubisoft - you better see this comment!
I just got it today for $10 CAD on Steam today, I’m still at noob level and absolutely terrified about everything that moves. Im playing on a standing desk + potted plants setup which makes it even more immersive
4:56 I also do that but later I upgrade my fighting skills because, my strategy is going high so I can make a takedown to liders, because takedown from above you dont need to be secret, when you get detected you can still make takedown from above, I do that alot! Thanks that video gave me alot of help!
Collecting spirit totems is really helpful early on because they collectively boost experience earned granting you the perks you desire making you more powerful quicker. Also, anything that adds population is helpful early on for the same reasons as well
been a very good amount of tips :) I clocked the game to 70% completion . I have a long way to go before 100% completion. almost 30 hours of gameplay I have achieved. awesome review man ;) great tips.
In honor of the legend who is still replying to and hearting comments six years later, I finally got around to finishing Far Cry Primal. I have to say I was pretty disappointed with the fights against human enemies; there should have been a greater degree of faction balance rather than the Udam just being cannon fodder, and, as you spend so much time in melee combat, I would have liked a bit more complexity to that. Also, while there was great potential in the characters, you did not really get enough time with each of them to really care that much about them (a FarCry 5 style guns for hire system would have been perfect here). However, I do not care what the haters say about it being a reskin of FarCry 4's map; the land of Oros felt more alive than any open world I have ever experienced in a game. I stood Takar on a rock more than once and just watched the animals dynamically hunt and interact. I also loved that the secret locations were just spectacular enough to be something that people in that time may have deemed special without being overblown. I also loved the feel of the ranged weapons sans HUD. Overall I enjoyed the game and would 100% buy a sequel, but have no desire to return, except maybe to find another rock.
It's been some time since I played but for me this was one of the better Farcry games, I have enjoyed the more recent ones but no way near as much as FC3 and 4. So much of what made Farcry what it was was removed from the recent games. This one though was great! Beautiful world and lots of fun to play.
Going to be starting this up soon, I'd totally forgotten about it and went out and picked it up used cheap. Thanks for the tips, especially the skill selections.
I was so excited in 2016, the game was ready on my computer. It's just that, I kept on dying alot. So then I found your video. Thank you for making this tips and tricks video for primal, you really helped me a lot at a time where I didn't know how to read English but know how to speak it
4:42 I try to avoid the Beast Kill as much as I can because of what you mentioned in the video. Also, I hate when I'm trying to be stealthy and my animal companion immediately pounces on the enemy. When stealth is crucial for the mission I prefer to prescind from the animal companion for said reason.
Survival Mode on Far Cry Primal is good it really does make a different experience, like keeping a proper amount of food and more harder due to the skills that you can’t have in survival mode. It’s more fun more challenging it does remove the feeling of repeatition especially if you’ve been playing far cry series it’s similar so to make a difference try it out guys
Thanks for the tips I just now got into the Far Cry series I'm loving them I done completed 3,4 now working on Primal, and next I'll do 5, and New Dawn great games.
do side mission first and get 300 NPC as fast possible; that will auto generate items in the long run (by sleeping!!). Use high ground guerilla techs (lots of arrow and woods & occasional fire ) while conquering settlements and checkpoints. after getting beastmaster try bigger animals as partner. To kill anything shooting spears are quick and deadly. to hunt rino and mammoths try them near water like shooting arrows from the otherside of the river, if they try to catch you try diving water quick (animals cant dive) and enjoy !!
Just started playing today! I couldn’t get myself to do all the animal killing stuff in FC5 so perhaps this game will force me to be ok with it so I can get some money and XP faster! 😆
Ive never been a fan of the farcry games farcry 5 i played first and loved it, then tried farcry 4 but couldnt get into it so started primal yesterday and i love it it takes sometime to get used to but i now have a wolf which makes it a bit easier especially at night haha cant wait to get a sabretooth :D

I just started this game, and it was getting a bit frustrating in the beginning, and thus boring, so I decided to look for a video that tells some of the tips, and this was just what I needed. Thanks!!
Another tip to earn skill point fast is doing all the wenja sidequest mission like escort and etc. Some will reward u with a skill point or 500 Xp or more.
Other than killing 2 enemies with 1 spear throw, I found another tactic that's more of a common sense than a tip If you infiltrate enemy camps during the night, most of the enemies will be asleep (at least in the easier outposts), you can just sneak around and take them one by one down with no problem
I guess it depends on the way you play the game but I have never once used a plant in this game unless it was to upgrade something it's too easy to be sneaky never saw the point of the plants
ThatScabYouAteWhenYouWereYoung TalosBetrayed Well that's a lie because you need to use a yellow plant to fight ull and need red plants to being beasts back from the dead.

Just picked this bad boy up 🙌🏻
I only now buyed this game!
Just cause of this comment I liked n subbed in 10 sec! Very wholesome
The graphics is absolutely stunning even in today's standard and this game is well-optimized, so sweet.
Ikr I just bought it & am amazed how good it is
THIZ!!!!
The graphics are horrible tf you smoking? Sure it looks better than Jedi knight 2: Jedi outcast but still worse than most today
@@zzodysseuszz I cannot tolerate bad anti-aliasing, other than that, everything is negotiable.
This game honestly looks much better than Far Cry 4
And the optimization? I was playing this game on GTX 470 on high settings and had no issues
I have a tip. when I approach a camp I need to take over I set my arrows on fire and burn the horn trees so they can't call for back up. Hey Mallery! Nice tip really great, thanks a lot for sharing it here :)
@Debate Bait ya burning helps and i would first then take out the horn guys. later the berserk shard is extremely useful
Lol never thought of burning them. Will try that at my next outpost.
@@MenWhoStareAtGames yo
Fuk, thank you. The horn
I took a whole base down by making my owl drop poison on the ppl so they started killing eachother and I just watched

Just started Far Cry Primal a couple of weeks ago. So far I am loving the uniqueness of the setting.
I do wanna add 1 (it kinda goes under loot everything)

Just now deciding to start this game, this video is definitely on point.
The spear is so much easier to aim than arrows, although I do like the bow for more stealthy kills.
4:56 I also do that but later I upgrade my fighting skills because, my strategy is going high so I can make a takedown to liders, because takedown from above you dont need to be secret, when you get detected you can still make takedown from above, I do that alot!

My Number 1 Tip : Turn on Survivor Mode. It makes the Game a whole lot more realistic, harder, more fun.
Yeah good tip, but definitely not for beginners lol
i'm gonna have to disrespectfully tell you to go fuck yourself
Why not? Most times people aint gonna replay anyway. So why not enjoy the game since you paid for it anyway? :)
Played with the survivor mode the first time.

Collecting spirit totems is really helpful early on because they collectively boost experience earned granting you the perks you desire making you more powerful quicker. Also, anything that adds population is helpful early on for the same reasons as well
another tips: if you go at a place with ''very difficult'' write next to difficulty, don't go there at the very beginning (even on easy)
hmmm wise you are :) thanks!
