  • How to restore a stainless steel sink video step by step for a sparkling sink. 3 different ways or 3 easy steps for the ultimate sink makeover. Your kitchen sink after this way of polish will look like new! You don’t need more than 25 minutes to clean and restore your water kitchen sink. Before you start cleaning your stainless steel sink / polish your sink please wear gloves to protect your hands.
    The first way is to rub it with aluminium foil and some dish washing liquid. It will polish your kitchen stainless steel sink and it will take out the stains but it will not remove the scratches. The aluminium foil is a good way to polish metal and chrome parts like the chrome kitchen tap without creating scratches because aluminium is softer. When you’re happy wipe it with a clean cloth.
    The second way is to use scouter pad. With big moves rub it until will remove scratches and stains. Very important do not do small moves because you will create more marks. You can remove the waste strainer for better result. After you wipe it with a clean cloth you will see a nice smooth matte finish surface.
    Metal polish cream to restore your kitchen sink completely! Rub it as much as you can with a cloth And then when you will finish with the all sink rub it with a different clean soft cloth. Wash it a couple of times and you’re ready 😁.
    I’m so pleased with my shiny clean and no scratches sink and with my new water tap looks stunning!
    Be creative and I would like to wish you... happy crafting on whatever you make!

      Again, thank you!

    Thank you for this. Would you recommend sequentially doing all three steps for a really old and stained sink? Secondly, how much pressure do we apply when using the foil? Would the foil cause more scratches on the surface if too much pressure is applied?

    • @DIYPD
      @DIYPD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You’re very welcome! For a really old sink I recommend heavy duty scourer pads to remove scratches with big moves. Do not stay at one spot. Then the foil to give a little bit of shine. Big moves again and do not afraid about the pressure. Aluminum foil is softer than steel and it will not make scratches. At the end use a metal polish cream for a stunning shine! The whole procedure takes time so be patient.

As a temporary solution (till I'd change the sink), I used a paint suitable for metal surfaces (for car hubcaps). Help! I used bleach in my New stainless steel farmhouse sink. I already tried the baking soda but it didn't help.
    Anyone I need ideas how to get it back to new

      Sorry about that. Because it was new it’s better to ask the company first.

    Do you have to do all three steps?

    • @DIYPD
      @DIYPD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course not. These are 3 different ways to restore your sink. The foil is very quick way and it will give some extra shine without extra scratches. The heavy duty scouter pads will remove most of the scratches and they will give a mat finish. For extra brilliant shine use the polish cream. It’s up to you which way or ways to follow and always depends from how your sink looks.

    You showed 3 methods , one after the other on the same sink. Method 2 was after it was already cleaned and 3 after 2 cleanings. How do we know that the last trap methods are as effective if we don’t see from a stained situation.

    • @DIYPD
      @DIYPD  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try and if it doesn’t work to do all 3! I believe it will work.

    Very shiny but still have scratches. I want to remove the scratches. Guess I have to continue searching on TH-cam.

    • @DIYPD
      @DIYPD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to remove the scratches completely you have to insist more with the second way.

    I think you mean "step" instead of "way" .

    • @DIYPD
      @DIYPD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cali, thank you for comment. The reason I say “ways” is because some people do not like to use chemicals so they may prefer to stop after the first or the second step and to not apply the cream. You do not have to follow all the process, you could choose either to only apply cream, or only scrub the sink with foil or only scrub the sink with the scourer pad which depends on what finish you want to give (matt, satin or gloss) Only sure thing is that all 3 ways will give you a better finish and a shiner sink despite if you use them all or just one of them. I hope you try it and you will be happy with the result! Have a lovely Christmas.

      Sorry to hear that you didn’t like the music, but I do and I know that I cannot please everyone but I am absolutely fine with that. I do appreciate the advise though.
      Also, not sure if you have seen any other of my videos but this is the style I use. There are so many great TH-camrs making DIY videos and I am sure that you can find someone with similar taste/style to yours so you can follow.
      All the best

    Why do you say "wear gloves" and then you don't? As for using the abrasive pad - that's just wrong. This is a useless video.

    • @DIYPD
      @DIYPD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Gienne, thank you for your comment. The reason I don’t use gloves is because I have an allergy, but I thought that I should advise people to not copy my example.
      Re the use of the abrasive pad, that was the best way to remove the most of the scratches from the sin. If you try it, you will see the difference!
      I hope this helps.
