Jon, I've never once seen anyone mentioning border gore. I'm still not certain it's an actual term and not just something people joke about. More land = more better. Take what you can, give nothing back!
For a number of people playing, it’s rather unpleasant to the eye to see a country like Ireland, owning only half of Ireland, 1 bit of England, the entire south of Norway, and 3 territories smack in the middle of Finland. For content creators border gore tends to muddy the narrative, as the nations themselves are the “characters” you’re telling stories about. So if Jon says a country is eating parts of Poland, it’s natural for the viewer to assume and makes sense of it being a country like Lithuania, or a strong Finland to be doing it, not Ireland. It’s very hard to maintain a sensible continuity in the viewers head as to the timeline of events when territory is split to hell and there’s no rhyme, reason, or mainland.
I found this "Border gore is the phenomenon in maps where borders are aesthetically unpleasing or difficult for the eye to look at. The term originated from the online community of the Paradox grand strategy game Europa Universalis IV, and was mainly used as a light-hearted term." Honestly even when I first started CK II this was something that did bother me. But I can be obsessive/a perfectionist. When the duchies are held correctly I feel very relaxed.

There's a funny bit I recall, that your Spilled Cauldron during the feast and "I expect I'll have to bloody pay for it" reminded me of. Alice Brochardt's "The Silver Wolf" which was about a werewolf in Rome during the Early Middle Ages. At one point a visiting noble is having a party in a villa they rented out there, and they broke something. Line went something like this if I recall (Literally been about 22 years since I read it, so apologies if I misquote): "Oh I'm sure that chair will be revealed to have been an heirloom from the Empire itself. And mere peasant coppers could never hope to replace such a priceless artifact. No, not even mercantile silver could fill the void placed by this ruined piece of history going back to their ancient and honored ancestors. No, only princely gold could hope to offer some small measure of recompense for such a truly terrible loss to both art and history." Though in game it's probably less about you replacing the cauldron, but more trying to smooth out the ruffled feathers of your guests after that debacle. "Sorry my party sucked and you got doused in meat and stew, here's some gold."
A recommendation: When you initially get a new ruler, I tend to switch my Chancellor to Domestic Affairs for the short-term opinion boost, since it REALLY helps with those negative modifiers. Once everyone chills out I switch back to Foreign Affairs for the Prestige gain.

how does jon decide to end these series
Yes
I hope he does another series of CK3 after this one. Idk what for but I just want to see Jon play more of this game!
Edit: Maybe revive helenism and the roman empire?
He did that in CK2! If youre interested
Check out Jon's Byzantium run in ck2. Bringing Hellenism back!
@@sophiew757 I'll give it a watch!
I don't understand why Jon won't add a Herculean lad to the gene pool
My daughter's name is Katarina. Was really hoping that we would live under the rule of Empress Katarina.
When you captured the pope why didn’t you convert him!?
Can't convert non-vassal landed rulers
@@sophiew757 He did that to multiple independent people he kidnapped as odd.
Good point. I don't know then lol
He couldn't. He checked. Sophie is correct. You can't convert landed rulers. He made a point of kidnapping hiers because they don't have land. They gained the land after Odd murdered their parents.
@@j2dragon109 oh you’re right thanks.
