- It is unfortunately very common to tie dogs in barrels. Hera was one of these dogs found tied in a barrel. She was very scared and she had a big tumor. Her recovery slow as she was very scared, but in th end she learned to trust people again.

Takis is such a legend. Even now he might be in progress of rescuing a couple of dogs.
Not just dogs either.
They should erect a statue for this man. For his selflessness and commitment to animals that have no voice and need help.

I get so angry at humans for the damage they do, then Takis makes me weep because there is a person that will do all this for these poor abused animals. God needs to bless him 10 fold.
There's that happiness that you can feel inside when you see a dog that rescued from a horrible condition is finally giving a proper care and love!

I never even considered that..I wondered why they did that, I believe you're absolutely right..
Abused cats are the same - they hide and try to make themselves invisible, like they are saying "I don't exist". It's so sad... I adopted an abused (black) cat about 4 years ago and she still does it when she is scared. She'll never be like a "normal" cat but I love her all the same, even if she won't let me touch her. 😿
