    Doing just that for 10 years now, the thing different is I dip my canine traps in zep floor polish, because of the calcium is use to freeze proof the bed of the trap

      Great video Dale! Is there a reason you add mineral spirits other than to save paint? Also would love to see a video about scent control at trap sets! Thanks for all you do brother

      @billingsleybrandtrappinglu1531  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @derrickwatson9146 you don't want the paint too thick Derrick otherwise you could have some trouble keeping them set. And yeah I can do that video in a few days for you. I have one more convention this Sunday and then I'll be done with them for the year

    What brand of paint are you using for dipping. I've been spray painting with krylon but your way looks easier. And do you have to mix with mineral spirits.

    Might be a good thought to compare the price and durability of the paint vs. the dips/sealers (mostly coal tar - Andy Stoes', Kaatz's, or floor waxes). Would be curious on your experience. ...the mike

      @billingsleybrandtrappinglu1531  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hate speed dip Mike plain and simple. I have used it in the past and absolutely refuse to again. If the paint is a little more expensive then so be it. Id rather have a dry odor free trap vs a sticky smelly one. That's my $0.02

    • @michaellance3544
      @michaellance3544 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have used it (petroleum dips) since it first came out (20+ years) and was frustrated to begin with (the first 5 years). Just like you I had odor and tackiness problems. However I worked and experimented and finally got a mixture and process I really like. Use it only on water traps and BG's and even if the BG's are above water, have no issue BUT because this dip is of a coal tar base, I leave these dipped traps outside for several months prior to use after dipping unlike most paints, which can be ready to go in a week for me. Petro dips need exposed to rainfall and/or under a lean-to for longer periods. No issue on Speed Dip types when done well, well, well enough ahead of time and the right mix is the key for me. Realize lots of folks can't leave their tools outside for extended periods. Rustoleum paint or Dakotaline Snare & Trap Dip (lots or stirring) works for my land traps. Will send you a picture of my trap hanger for drying..................... the mike@@billingsleybrandtrappinglu1531

    @peterj727 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Do you use the 5 gallon bucket for dipping your 330’s or do you use a different container? Also does one need to clean out the dog notch on conibears when using paint? Appreciate all the info! I have about 15 dozen beaver traps that need treating so figured I’d better ask and save me some hassle lol.
