The cleansing pad is a great idea. I've been using my microfiber face cloth to spot clean my brushes or switch colors. Wet or dry, it works great! And is more effective than the color switch. It washes easily. And keeps my brushes free of chemicals.
i was thinking face cloth also. I use a wash cloth or microfiber and it works great. and no waste to replace that cover after only 5 0r 6 uses/washes. effective, cheap, and green!!

As in these brushes, I love them for doing detailed eyework as in the liners and brows. Also, I love using one for lining my lips and putting lipstick on.

In terms of this brush style I have Cailyn's O Wow! brush, one from Crown, & Moda's Prismatic set. I like them all well enough, really like 2 of the 4 Moda's, & LOVE the Cailyn O Wow!; the Cailyn has a different, somewhat tapered shape that allows it to get into & around creases & edges in an amazingly wonderful way. I found my Cailyn @ TJMaxx/ Marshalls for ~$10-12 & believe it's usually reasonably priced on Amazon.
Not having tried the Artis I of course can't comment re: any differences but would 100% recommend the Cailyn - &/ or for additional size options, the Moda set - to anyone on a budget or who perhaps wants to try this brush style before deciding whether or not to invest in an Artis. B/c while some of the "no brand"/ generic options we've all seen may be great they're far more of a gamble whereas Cailyn & Royal & Langnickel/ MODA are in & of themselves well established brands w/ quality products (which IMO is more than worth the few $$ more they may be than a random generic you know nothing about).
I've had no issue cleaning any of them, either between uses or for deep cleaning (which I've now udone numerous times).
Do you prefer using these brushes over traditional mu brushes? Do they perform better /last longer to make the investment worthwhile in your opinion? Are they suitable for all skin types - even dry/mature? I'm very curious, I've just started using brushes for foundation application instead of a sponge & I'm not always happy with the results

Camilla Zhao you don't necessarily have to get dupes. I don't know why no one mentions it, but Artis has an affordable line called Brushcraft (listed on the Artis site) where you can get the same brushes for less money because they don't have the fancy handles. The cheapest elite mirror brush is the circle 1 which is $36 or you can purchase the most expensive Brushcraft brush, the oval 7, for $29.50. Instead of going to HSN and purchasing a kit of brushes you may not even like, order one or two Brushcraft brushes and decide if it's something you like. I have the oval 6 & 7 from both Brushcraft and the elite mirror collection and they are the same material and feel the same and work the same! The only difference I've noticed is the feel of the handles.
Lisa Edwards She probably meant the much cheaper brushes, like I got a dupe for $12 on Amazon based on a review by Jessica Braun that I am really happy with... I don't usually like using a brush for foundation, but I like the dupe I got. It's about the same size as the Oval 7.
Camilla Zhao I had to look up the brand, but check out Jessica Braun's review of the Lagure brush sold on Amazon. It must be doing well, I bought it for $12 and it's $14 now... I like it because it seems like I get my foundation on faster.

Is the sound off? Could be just my phone. I love using the large brush to start my foundation on my jaw line and neck before using my beauty blender but I'll use the brush only on quick "Mom" days. It blurs it out perfectly and very easily.
Also, how was the wear of the foundation you applied with the oval 7? Like, based on application, not formula.
For me personally, the idea of using a brush to apply body lotion is completely unnecessary! But thank you for the in-depth review!
I don't know why no one ever mentions that Artis has another brush line called Brushcraft that sells the same brushes at a more affordable price. Instead of paying $36-62 for a single brush (circle one to oval 7) you can pay $18.50-29.50 (again circle 1 to oval 7) per brush. Instead of going out and buying a kit with brushes you may not even like, you can purchase one or two of the Brushcraft brushes and decide if it's something you want to spend your money on especially since the most expensive Brushcraft brush (oval 7) is less expensive than the "cheapest" Elite mirror brush (circle 1). It's not a dupe or knock off, they are linked right of the Artis site so my suggestion is to purchase Brushcraft before investing the large amount of money for the mirror or smoke collections. I have the oval 6 and 7 from both the elite mirror and Brushcraft and there is no difference (since they are made by the same company) other than the difference in the feel of the handles. Hope this helps!
I love my Artis brushes! The linear 1 is the best for brows. I have almost no hair past my arch, and I can still build my brow look with this brush without it looking over done. You are absolutely right about how fast it is. I can do my brows in less than 5 minutes with the linear 1 as opposed to 15-20 minutes using a pencil and a powder or pomade.
I just bought 2 sets of the elite set. im waiting on my cleaner ; I don't want to use them until I know I can clean them. do you still use these 3 yrs later?

Do you feel like the product is getting in the skin or sitting on top because you are using a swiping motion instead of pushing it into the skin like you do with other beauty tools? Does it move product around? I see a lot of knock off versions of these brushes I wonder if they do the same thing? Not sure how far you are from the flooding that occurred in Houston but I can't believe the damage Harvey made. My town is getting together supplies to send to Houston and I will once again be traveling to Houston to volunteer with the Eight Days of Hope Ministry. I encourage everyone to help anyway they can. I am sure Dallas has already started gathering volunteers and supplies and are probably already on the ground helping. Breaks my heart to see all those families with children lose everything. #PrayForTexas! Great video!

selenia carrico Ah, half my cousins & one m of my best friends are in Dallas, too. Although, the BF's daughter I'd in Houston. I think most videos were filmed prior to all of it.

I think some of the beauty vloggers should start donations for beauty products. I know it isn't a necessity but we all know that woman that lost everything, after the initial emergency is over and the shock, as they start trying to rebuild, they will feel much more normal and better if they have beauty items to bolster themselves. I wonder if anyone has thought of this? I think I'll try to contact some brands and see if they can do something.
I have the one for foundation. Now I want the one for the eyes.
I wonder if the linear 3 would be good for lip products, esp liquid lipsticks that get streaky and patchy?
This was an awesome video, I really appreciate all the info about the cleaning and multitasking! I hadn't heard about that either, and was also wondering what the BFD was... and now I'm shopping. SIGH. These will actually go on my Christmas list. They're a little spendier than I'm comfortable spoiling myself with, but my hubby LOVES to surprise me with awesomeness. Thank you so much!
