He is one of those players who's numbers can't show his greatness. He he had always taken backseat for the better of the team, but when something special was needed he was there to deliver.
I think that Pop realized how important he was that he put him in the second unit because he was the only one that could improve it! Manu lead for more than a decade the best second unit EVER, and with so many different partners.
Dude Ginobili is my all-time favorite player, I grew up in San Antonio idolizing this guy man; I was with him thick and skin especially when he had his MVP caliber season... ALWAYS will be my fav NBA/SPURS PLAYER EVER. GINOBILI I LUV U MAYNE!!! I WILL MISS YOU WHEN YOU ARE GONE!
There have been better players in basketball than Manu, but there has never been a greater competitor than Manu. His fight and desire to win is unmatched.
Let me tell you guys a little story... When I was back in high school, just transferred in from Arg, didn't know jack about basketball, or the beautiful game, my HS class decided to go see a ball game game (Spurs-Timberwolves) in the year that was cursed. Me not knowing anything about anything, said why don't we go see a good team like Michael Jordan and the bulls? Didn't even know where they played so far away from south Texas, or that he had been retired for like 9-10 yrs, just saw a poster in some kid's room and assumed he still played, idk... Anyway... we get there, and I see the name of Manu Ginobili, and having heard his name in Arg, and that he was a star, I decided that the spurs were my team. I remember the game like it was yesterday...The spurs lost that one, but from that day on I was a Spurs fan and Ginobili fan...still had no idea about the rules or anything, but that would come later. I remember the missed free throws in the finals that year, Kawhi's ascendance out of nowhere, learning about the beautiful game, and the sacrifice each of these players make. I started playing, a year or two later, couldn't even shoot a free throw, but now, I love the game so much, that I can't do anything during a spurs game except stay glued to the screen (and yell at the refs with pop). I have slowly evolved into a true fan of the game, although days like today, where i see a game as close as this, makes me hate it almost as much as I love it. Today was almost as stressful as game 7 vs the clippers 3 years ago. (The cursed year shall never again be spoken of) My game has improved, I like to build offense off of good defense, can almost dunk even (5'10), but seeing Manu dunk today, man! Wow! Seeing him make those timely 3s, the contorted shots, and then the block! That reminded me why I love this guy and this team so much! Great players come and go, but legends like TD, TP, Manu, and Pop! Their memories are forever! Go Spurs Go!!
I've never seen such hand-eye coordination! Manu will be sorely missed when he retires. I will probably stop watching NBA at that point. There is not another player so dynamic, charming, intelligent and articulate. I truly hope he becomes an NBA commentator so I can continue to watch him.
😢 The light is fading on a truly wonderful era for the Spurs. Didn't think the Dynasty would end out so tragically with Tony's injury and Ginobilis effectiveness dwindling, but it was nice to see that Champion shine through in game five.... Thank you Manu for EVERYTHING!!!!...🏀....
Man Gino is one of my all time favorite players. in his prime he was top 5 Sg in the leauge but he took a back seat and still was outstanding. Underrated athletic ability, good shot insane layups and sometimes even more insane passes. Good defender also he was something special.
coach , thanks for this video I'm from Argentina and as you might now for Maradona and Messi , basketball is not the most popular sport in this country but damn it feels so good to be in the minority that enjoys as much as I watching this old man for the last 15 years. thank you very much coach Nick. u made me cry nostalgic tears
Manu Ginobili, I haven't seen you play live so please come back one more year. You aren't as fast or as flashy as you used to be, but for you it was never about that. You gave everything you had and played fearlessly. Even though it wasn't as a starter, you were the proudest 6th man to grace the court. It was and always will be about winning.
As argentinian, i cant put in words the admiration and the proud that i´m feeling for this crazy bald old genious. Not just for his game and his achivements with our national team and the spurs (team really suportted here in Argentina), I sincerelly admire the humility, professionalism and good faith that he´s shown trough all these years. I got to tell you: The black mamba, Mr. Kobe Bean, has been my hero since I was a kid. Manu? HE IS MY EXAMPLE. Greetings to all of you.
It made me tear up. He made an entire country interested in basketball (argentina) even if it was for a brief moment. There will never be another player like him to ever wear our shirt, and he will always be a beacon for future athletes. A hard-working, modest and talented man, I wish I could've seen him in the court. The man is a legend.
I'm from Argentina, and this videos almost made me tear a little bit. Thinking that the best argentinian player of all time is going to retire is hearth-breaking. Legend.
great short clip to not only 1 of the greatest spurs, but NBA player of all time. Spurs had the success due to great ownership, management, coaching staff, players & the dynasty made up of DUNCAN, PARKER & GINOBILIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! in their prime. the Admiral is my favorite & once he retired a 2 time champ I gravitated towards Manu Ginobiliiiiiiiiiiiii! He should have been MVP or CO-MVP of the finals vs Detroit. As clutch a player as any in history of game.
TMSKILZ, I became a Spurs fan (1992-93) bc of The Admiral, he was cheering, orchestrating the defense on that last possession on the 2nd row, where he usually sits. TD (TP & Manu) made the Spurs a dynasty, but The Admiral SAVED the franchise!
This video made me feel old, everybody I grew up watching play have either retired or about to, don't care what Ginobili's numbers are, if you've seen him play over the years, you know he's a Hall of Famer.
Thank you very much coach, from an Argentinian guy that loves basketball, and seeing Manu both with the Golden Generation and the Spurs, this video was just great.
Great video Coach. Life long Spurs fan from San Antonio here, and I will miss him more than Tony and Tim. He's been my favorite player since I was young. I always tried to model my game after him. Glad he's playing so well right now in the playoffs. Would be great for him to go out with a Championship. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
We never really fully get to appreciate these legends until they're towards the end of the career. Crazy how taken for granted their age is we just feel like they can go forever since we're so used to seeing them
thank you for this video! Manu is my favorite player since i saw him play on Kinder Bologna uniform..it was just so fortunate that he also went to my favorite team Spurs! #gsg!
he walked off from the argentinian team...i cried when that happened... :( thank you for this review... this guys makes me feel glad about my country... and this sport... :') thank you
HOF hands down changed the game more than any other two guard since MJ look at the way Wade and Harden play he brought the Euro to the league turned into a devastating weapon his relentlessness and creativity passing the ball pistol Pete level skills
As a rockets fan, and a steve nash fan... I watched this man dick my favorite teams around for years. What a god damn legend, got me chocking up over a player I always hated.
Man is so sad to see all those players get old...i mean, you see Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu and you think "Man, just a winning team, with amazing players" and now that's almost gone, same with Jordan, Kobe, Pierce, all those players who have made history in that beautiful sports #thanksforall
Parker was still very lethal prior to this latest injury. Ginobili is a lot more inconsistent these days, but he still delivers when it counts. His basketball IQ is just so great and makes up for his decreasing athleticism.

BBALLBREAKDOWN hi
BBALLBREAKDOWN
Is he a Hall of Famer?
Let me rephrase the question: Do you think he's a Hall of Famer?
AVERAGE! LOOOOOOOOOL
He is one of those players who's numbers can't show his greatness. He he had always taken backseat for the better of the team, but when something special was needed he was there to deliver.
Word. He could have averaged 25 a game easily in his prime while also creating for others. Similar to what Harden does today.
Not true. Win Shares per 48 min. was always my favourite stat and Manu is one of all time greats according to it.
HatchVision 24th all-time to be exact.
I think that Pop realized how important he was that he put him in the second unit because he was the only one that could improve it! Manu lead for more than a decade the best second unit EVER, and with so many different partners.
3000 points, 292 steals and more than 800 assists in the playoffs are top 7 all time, why do people say he doesn’t have great numbers?
I'm not crying you're crying
Is it dusty in here?
Arthur Lai it's raining outside ain't it 😢🌤
...its raining quite abit out here
it's just my eyes getting wet excessively from all the bball porn here. nope not crying

When you count up Olympic Medal, NBA Championships, Country/Club Championships, ect... Manu is probably the most decorated players ever.
Euroleague champion and MVP. Manu won it all.
he did win on EVERY LEVEL OF BASKETBALL!
Hall of Fame for sure
that's why his side step called a eurostep
First ballot.
As an Argentinian that loves basketball Manu is the best role model we could have ever hoped for, legend doesn't even begin to describe him.
drcadillac que!!!!! sos una desgracia para manu escribiendo en ingles.
The JOKER Que?
@@xeneize6380 ahre que Manu habla siempre me inglés y ser bilingüe no es una desgracia
not what i was expecting but i love this type of dramatic tribute video
Thanks!

RT
Yea, nice wrinkle, and well deserved vid for Manu
This had me tearing up.
BREAKING: Sources around the NBA say Ginobili had a new child named James Harden after that block.
He was 8 turnovers heavy
DannyAwesome 08 And he was choking when he was first born
DannyAwesome 08 he stole manus moves and added the flop lol
yeah that the reason why harden grow his beard to fear the bald spot.,.lol maybe harden can now donate that beard to manu
Mr Ed bit manu already flops
Most stars, athletes and artists sell their souls to the devil to gain immortality and fame. Manu Ginobili sold his hair.

Man tears were shed after watching this glorious video..

+Timothy Pilli wow, this is beautiful
Timothy Pilli nice
My all-time favorite SG next to Kobe!
I've never seen such hand-eye coordination! Manu will be sorely missed when he retires. I will probably stop watching NBA at that point. There is not another player so dynamic, charming, intelligent and articulate. I truly hope he becomes an NBA commentator so I can continue to watch him.
I'd love to see Manu play till he's 50. That would be so dope.
😢
The light is fading on a truly wonderful era for the Spurs. Didn't think the Dynasty would end out so tragically with Tony's injury and Ginobilis effectiveness dwindling, but it was nice to see that Champion shine through in game five....
Thank you Manu for EVERYTHING!!!!...🏀....
Great pleople/players will always be great till the last day. Respect these champions heart of a warrior
+Mr Ed 👊🏀
MANUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It`s sad seeing my Spurs legends retire one by one. but like Timmy I will savor every single second Manu is on the court.
I swear sometimes ginobili had some of the wildest plays ever with those passes and finishes
San Antonio Spurs big three. most winningest trio in the playoffs and regular season. Go Spurs Go.
Esco, The Immortals! Yes sir! Go Spurs Go!
This video brought me tears and lots of emotions. Thank you.
Grandpa's juice
John Galvez good thing james harden had never encountered the 2005 long hair manu.. cos if he does, good luck to you beard man!

"He's Manu Ginobilli" sums it up really
LEGEND
Here after he announced his retirement
Reporter: What made you think that he can spur you starting in the 3rd quarter?
Pop: He is MANU GINOBILI.
pop is the spur 😤😤😤
TR Elite Basketball that doesn't even make sense 😂😂but you the goat
Manu Ginobili, I haven't seen you play live so please come back one more year. You aren't as fast or as flashy as you used to be, but for you it was never about that. I wasn't paying attention and the first minute sounds like an in memoriam segment and I was really confused
I think this was a nice tribute to Manu, that game 5 vs. rockets was the best game of these playoffs so far! thank you Manu!
Wooow, you make me cry. So emotional and inspirational. Manu is the best!
Im 32 years old, but i know when he retires my childhood and youth will be gone
you are indeed old man.
I know man....but Tim retired last year after 2 decades...thats 2/3 of my life. Next is Manu and then Tony.....it sucks
Cristian Lira I felt that way when Kobe left.
Yeah...you are right....I remember watching that game against Utah, and realise that was the very last game of Kobe. I was sad
You were already a man in 2002, what childhood are you talking about haha
It made me tear up. He made an entire country interested in basketball (argentina) even if it was for a brief moment. There will never be another player like him to ever wear our shirt, and he will always be a beacon for future athletes. Damn ginobili looks like god in this video
he's a DEMIGOD
4:01 the God in Athens 2004
3:07....he is a basketball GOD.
I'm from Argentina, and this videos almost made me tear a little bit. Thinking that the best argentinian player of all time is going to retire is hearth-breaking. Legend.
+Panthern gracias! 💪🏀👍
oh coach, you are the best in youtube. i am from argentina, manu it's a hero here, i can't stop crying
it's crazy . he will never be seen as a top sg but I think he may be the craftiest player ever. he did everything "incorrect" and made it work .

I became a Spur because of the admiral #50 as well for both his on & off court services & character.
He's the reason I started loving the Spurs and Parker
This Panot is the reason why I'm a Spurs Fan today. Gotta love Manu #GoSpursGo

Crazy how taken for granted their age is we just feel like they can go forever since we're so used to seeing them
Manu's pin-point behind the back bounce pass to Mills cutting to the basket at 3 minutes into this video is completely and totally SICK!!!!!!

A great tribute to a legendary Champion, love the video.
GINOOOBBBLIIIIII
That was possibly the greatest ad I've ever seen.
Olympic gold medalist European champion NBA champion doesn't get better than that
This video is TH-cam royalty. Grand work guys! Hats off!
Parker was still very lethal prior to this latest injury. Ginobili is a lot more inconsistent these days, but he still delivers when it counts. His basketball IQ is just so great and makes up for his decreasing athleticism.
Argentina sees ginobili like how USA sees michael jordan
ginobili no es Maradona
heart. manu has the biggest heart in all of basketball.
Thanks for all of the memories manu. See you in Springfield.
Being a San Antonio native and growing up watching David Robinson Duncan Parker Manu Elliot. It's been hard watching so many legends walk off the court. Gonna be tough see tony Manu and pop gone. 😪 #GSG!
The great Manu was born to play basketball. We're lucky to watch him mature like a vintage Wine with the even greater POP!
When Ginobili career is said and done he's the player i will remember and miss the most
After watching this i think all us spurs fans want ginobili to keep playing forever and never stop, damn you...... onions GO SPURS GO
