@@AndyParrishOutdoors I think I was on the way down and saw you guys heading up. It was a beautiful day for a hike! I made a video of my hike but your footage was much better! Love the video!
Yes, This was our high adventure trip of the year. We climbed Gray's Peak after spending 4 days in the Lost Creek Wilderness - you can see here: th-cam.com/video/AJ2G2LhvG1Y/w-d-xo.html
It took us 3 and a half hours to climb. We hung out at the summit for about 45 minutes. It took us about 2 and a half hours to make it back to the cars.
The mountain goats are pretty docile, they have no reason to fight humans and will only fight other animals if really threatened with young or in food scarcity. The latter being rare, since they eat basically any grasses or shrubs. Still a good idea to keep distance and let them be wild. I've heard they are delicious when slow cooked and shredded like pulled pork.
@@AndyParrishOutdoors Unfortunately I suspect you are correct. Good message in the video to remind people to avoid the temptation to feed them. The back country isn't a petting zoo hahaha
Congrats Andy.
Thanks Greg!
Enjoyed the video! Will be making my second trip up in a couple of days. 👍
I hope it was Epic!!!

Was cool to see the crew of people hiking in a line down the mountain single file. Not baaaaaaaaad!
It was definitely a cool scene... 🐐
Grays Peak was my second 14er, the first being Torreys on the same hike. I think I was still in high school when I did them.
It's a great pair to start with!
Were you there with your scout troop?

They look trained to expect food from hikers. At least that was my instinct.

How long did the total hike take?
6:45 total time... 3:30 to climb, just under an hour at the top... About 2:20 to get down...
