Thanks Wanter, I use this weekly and love it, only issue is you can not get in tight places other than that it’s awesome! I considered the hydraulic, pistol grip, military nut setter but it’s very expensive!

Thanks Sean, The tool is plenty strong enough to break the tips so don't over do it! You just need a nice rolled over shoulder to hold the rivet nuts tight.

We use rivnuts by the fistfull - thin wall square and rectangular tubing and sheet metal.
For years we have been converting harbor freight pneumatic rivet guns into pneumatic rivnut setters. Have some drawings someplace...

Out of passing interest... they told us in A&P school that it was BF Goodrich that came up with rivet nuts; for the installation of their rubber aircraft de-icing boots. They marketed them under the name 'BF Rivnuts'... and their installation tool was very similar to Astro Pneumatic offering shown.
    Cool videos, Thanks!

Might be worth doing a second part to this video on the different types of rivnuts available? There are some counter-sunk ones that fit flush, some with a small key way to resist torque mechanically as well as with friction, different grip ranges and different materials. So many options!

I'll look into getting one of these. I have a tool I got about 30 years ago that looks more like a pop-rivet gun but work to squeeze aluminum nut rivets. Sometimes that gun wont fit in tight spaces. Where did you get the two-wrench version that you show at the beginning of the video. That looks like it may come in handy in tight spaces.

Just because they sell to Snap-on DOES NOT mean that under their brand name that it is the same quality. Astro makes these for several companies, and those companies supply all of the spec and quality control guide lines for what they want. Just look at stuff from China. You can get the same part, lets say a brake rotor for a Honda Accord, that was made for six different distributors, from the same exact factory, and you'll get six rotors of different quality standards even though it was made for the exact same purpose by the exact same people. This is true no matter where the part is made, even if it is made in the USA. The parts will be made to the customers standards, not their own...
