There's also a sort of green window for blocks, in essence when you release the block button. I've tried it out and noticed it. Please test!

Recommend a video on when to press steal while ball is in the air on cross court passes and if analog helps with aiming the steal.

When the pass is released. Soon as the animation from the passer begin if your imposition bit square at that should give you best animation

I average over 2 steals a game. The 2 best ways to get steals are. 1. Play a side of the offensive player and wait until they start to cross back at you and press the square button right as soon as you see the move beginning to come at you. 2. For passing lanes pressing 1 time will only start the steal but spamming it when you are in position is how to guarantee the catch animation. The first square will tip and the next will grab. Think about it like a catch on a tip off.

The key is the meet the driver at the peak of his layup or dunk animation bro. Leave the restricted area in order to get the block. Always be in front of the driver when attempting a block along with being outside the restricted area.
