    Something I thought of based on #2. While that is true, holding steady throttle like you "should" becomes detrimental fairly early on. By the time you get to the top of beginner class in local races, you really need to know how to charge up to a face then slow down a bit and sort of coast over the jump. I could never find a video explaining how to properly do it so I just learned it myself by practicing on smaller tabletops. I think that would make a great technique video, its suprising how much you can lower your lap time by blasting straightaways rather than holding the speed you need for an upcoming jump.

I rode a Harley for 10 years then sold it because of the typical got older, family, time stuff but now as my kids are getting older I want to get us outdoors and would love to get on a bike like this. I'm not ignorant, I know the techniques are completely different but I want to learn. Thanks for the videos like this!

    Looking at getting my first bike and I would like a honest opinion. I am 17 6ft 1in and 185-190 pounds I have ridden some small bikes once or twice when I was younger like a yamha tt110 or tt50. I live on a few hundred acaras and won't be doing mx tracks, it would be more for moving around and some trails with my dad who has a 1998 yamaha wr400f. I really like the ktm mx bikes and I was wondering if something like a 450 sxf or xcf would be a bad Idea as a first bike on open land with some trails once my skills increase?

    Race tracks are designed to give pros a challenge not with beginners in mind...wet first practice is the most challenging part of riding a MX track for ur first time....my first race was wet muddy practice on a works 1986 CR 250R. Talk about arm pump an get my body sore...in a hurry....the arm pump was nuts but normal...i was told for ur first time.....even pros get it when they dont ride for a while....

    I have a question on #2. So I always see really fast guys flying up to the jump then never touch the throttle on the whole jump face. How do they not endo? Just always wondered if anyone can answer I’d appreciate it lol

    • @Racerxwilly
      @Racerxwilly ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since they have more speed than what is required to clear the obstacle , by closing the throttle into the face of the jump the suspension unloads itself early "soaking up" the "pre-load" affect and thus lowering the flight trajectory and allowing said rider to get their wheels on the ground sooner. You can't accelerate whilst airborne. Best analogy I have off top is its kinda like stealing your friends bounce on a trampoline, but your bike is the friend.... P.S. like stated in video do not attempt until you are a advanced rider as mistiming the "chop" is a good way to go over the Bars . It will feel natural when the time is right. Hope that helps .

    Thanks Tyler...i think the biggest mistake most peoples makes....is being brand new by a bleeping crf 150 or 80cc mx bike something small that doesnt have pro racing quality....practice learning to ride on a XR 75....an learn to motorcycle ride befor u climb on a YZF 250 and definately dont buy any pro CRF 450s for ur first bike if u havent spent a year learning to ride on a mini...a 450 is capable of almost 90mph on a dirtbike track...thats the other life saving tip...dont learn ur first time riding at a race track...if ur gonna can i haveurcar or ur truck before u go...got any other nice stuff just put it outside i will get it later....u dont learn to ride on a pro bike its suicide....nothing major peace u all...learn to ride first dont start off by getting hurt....before u figure out the clutch. Thing an learn how to shift....by a starter bike...2 things gloves an helmut an boots mx pants unless u like gettimg burned...

    Don't use chain lube you're wasting money. Simple math. A chain is $100 where I am. Chain lube is $30ish a can. what means for nearly every 3 cans of chain lube you need to double the life for your chain and it just doesn't. Grab a can of wd40 or a water displacement spray for $10 and get the same life span out of your chain.
