Men's Fancy competative Dance at

Gathering of Nations, the worlds largest #POWWOW. They had no GON in the last 2 years. #GON We are enjoying the 39th annual, 2022 Gathering of Nations #GON. In our opinion, this is America's greatest cultural event. Native Americans of all ages compete in this olympics of traditional song, dance and drumming. Some "guests" perform outside of the #TinglyArena in #Albuquerque, but most of the action is inside #TinglyColiseum.
For 2 days, representatives from 500 tribes from around the world compete: song, dance, drumming and more. My cell phone's camera gets the biggest workout, to try to document what we want to see again. The #GON begin both days with The Grand Entry of Dancers which is AMAZING! There is

Gourd Dancing, the
Crowning of Miss Indian World and even more Competition drumming, Singing & Dancing.
The clothing is amazing its actally regalia. Regalia is the distinctive clothing worn and ornaments carried at formal occasions as an indication of status.
The beadwork, JEWELRY, feathers, ribbons, bones, jingles, moccasins, furs, teeth, seeds, shells and headresses.
Most of the beaded or feathered regalias that have wrist bands, arm bands, neck bands, back drapping, ankle bands, waist bands, bustles, hair ornaments, braid ornaments and the body covering...take more than a year to construct. Most competators only wear their regalia for competition, then street clothes are worn to go outside to get food. The competators are constantly changing their clothes in the stands.
