What this ending means in the story is that Sunny doesn't want to face what he has done, so what he does is kill himself by jumping off the building, making him stay in his own dream world where nothing ever happened and stays there as Omori forever, thus killing him.
I got 2 different endings on my game, both of them were bad endings and none of those were this one, in one of them omori goes with the phantom to his mom's car, and in the other one he kills himself with a knife, so i guess your theory is true

Imagine how sad it must’ve been for everyone else. You think that “oH basil and sunny are fine now!” And are currently taking care of basil and planning to take care of sunny. But once you enter his room, you see sunny is gone.
I'll make a scenario of that I guess. I'm a terrible writer so get ready your anti cringe pills and remember, don't overdose. "I hope they both get better soon..." Hero would say, with a mix of a worried and hopeful expression "Aww man! It's such a bummer that this happened before Sunny has to move! I wanna send him off as best as I can, y'know." Kel would say with a bit of sadness in his tone "Er, yeah. Before we go, can we go check up on Sunny one more time or... something." Aubrey would say, already a bit flustered. "Alright! To Sunny off we go!" Kel would say with enthusiasm "Ergh, you're so simple minded, you know. Let's just go visit Sunny again okay! I... Just want to make sure he's okay." Aubrey would say, gritting her teeth And so, the group walked to Sunny's hospital room, only to find him gone. "W-What the crud?! Where's Sunny?!" Aubrey would say, in a mix of worry, shock and utter confusion "Errr, I have no idea either Aubrey." Kel would say, in worry "We should go look for Sunny to see where he went. Just stay calm you two. Don't worry, it'll be fine." Hero would say, in a soothing mannerism to hopefully prevent a freakout from the both of them And so, the group looked around everywhere in the hospital, however they couldn't find him. "What the crud?! W-W-Where's Sunny?! We've flipping looked everywhere!" Aubrey would say, in exhaustion and frustration "Maybe we can check if Sunny sneaked out to get something for himself, he actually did that once during summer." Hero slightly muttered, while deeply thinking to himself "OKAY! TO THE OUTSIDE WE GO!" Kel shouted at the top of his lungs "Shhhh! This is a hospital, Kel! You don't shout here for no freaking reason! Do you want us to get kicked out or something?" Aubrey would say, very annoyed "Okay, okay, fine, I'll keep quiet, haha." Kel said, grinning The group would go down from an elevator from the hospital, only to find Sunny's bleeding corpse on the pavement "..." The group was frozen from complete shock and utter disbelief on the scene that they saw. Sunny's skull was split open from hitting the pavement from the top of the hospital, his hospital gown being stained red with blood as it continues to bleed from the head *NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO THIS CANT BE HAPPENING!* Aubrey would scream in absolute terror, as Sunny's corpse would continue to bleed out "W-W-W-What the heck! W-what even happened here?!?!" Kel would say, in pure shock "E-E-E-Everything's fine! Sunny can still be alive..." Hero would say, shaking slightly as he tries to keep his calm demeanor and hide his panic, which fails miserably *WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN EVERYTIME I TRY TO BE HAPPY?! WHY IS LIFE SO UNFAIR?! I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE! FIRST M-MARI AND NOW SUNNY... WHY DO THEY HAVE TO BE TAKEN AWAY FROM ME...* Aubrey would scream, while kneeling and sobbing Tbh I don't know what else to put here, as my already small amount of brain juice has ran out so um yeah, idk
I don't actually think Sunny died. This theory is far out their but still, So for the majority of the time Sunny is falling at ~19 Meters per second. Terminal velocity on the other hand is about 60 Meters per second. So I think the hospital had a history of people jumping off or something and installed drogue shoots to the slippers that would deploy after some sensor is triggered. The reason they only put drogue shoots in the slippers is because it's too small of a space to put main chutes. The reason we don't see them is because the threads holding the chutes are really long so people who didn't see Sunny falling might see the chute, and if they do see the chute or Sunny someone could put a massive inflatable pillow or something at the landing area. But because of what happens in the bad ending, I don't think Sunny was noticed in time so an emergency parachute or airbag system deployed from his clothes either knocking him out or blocking his vision. This would explain the gun sound as one of the drogue shoots cables which would make that sound if they were under enough tension and the speed of him falling sharply increases for a while before a backup drogue shoot deploys. It would also explain why he doesn't immediately go back to 19 Meters per second probably because the chute was programmed to open slow so his leg doesn't get yanked off leaving a main shoot deployment so much worse (especially if the main chute is programmed to open almost instantaneously because as I said earlier it would be used in emergency situations where Sunny isn't noticed fast enough) or leave the airbags useless. This theory would also explain why the voices in Sunny's head are muffled after his rapid descent because while the backup drogue shoot deploys slowly, it's probably not slow enough to prevent him from almost being knocked out to being knocked out entirely.
@lasagna boi personally, the knife ending, but not because of the suicide itself, but because of the consequences that suicide will bring to your family and friends. Your mom will end up witnessing two of her children commit suicide (its possible that she knows that Mari's death was not a suicide, but its neither confirmed or denied in the story). Basil will die either way if you don't intervene, meaning your friends will more or less witness two deaths in the same day. Aubrey blames herself for Basil's death, and its going to hit her really hard.

I mean I knew it had to be about suicide, because I've been hearing this song for 3 years now, and you can hear the cocking of a gun and a gunshot in the song when he sings "oyasumi oya su mi I know that it's hard to do" *cocks gun* *gunshot*. So I kinda knew that suicide will be involved. Now Mari being accidentally killed by Sunny was a HUGE shock to me.
The Japanese lyrics mention the world not letting him sleep repeating goodnight in Japanese with English lyrics mention the hands of time wringing his neck and being filled with regret as well as what sounds like someone loading a gun after “I know that it’s hard to do.” Needless to say the song is deceptively cheerful. Gives me Kikuo vibes honestly, as he’s known for having songs like that.

This might sound a bit wrong but, i've always like this ending the most. The atmosphere, the twist and the music all fit perfectly. It's not the shock of sunny jumping off, but everything perfectly encapsulates the slow feeling of regret as you sit there watching the credits.

Honestly, I’m surprised some people’s reactions to sunny falling was to laugh. I know they don’t mean it in a malicious way but for me, it felt gut wrenching to see the split second of him falling downward. The thing is, both endings where he commits suicide or tells the truth does make sense. A lot of people suffering from depression can be on the road to recovery. You’ll watch and smile as you realize they’re becoming happier. But with every recovery, there is that one last final step. That final step is the most hardest step to take when recovering. And some people can’t handle it and aren’t ready to take that step. So they take ten steps back and it’s horrifying to watch. It’s horrifying to watch someone you know, who you thought would finally be happy, slowly restarts. And some people even take extremely drastic actions such as committing suicide because they can’t handle doing that final step. That final step for sunny was confessing his sins to the ones he loves dearly. That fear of losing all that he has left overcame his will power to recover. And the only solution left besides recovering was to end it all. Which he ultimately did in the bad ending because he just couldn’t fight back omori he couldn’t fight back against his fear of losing everyone once they learn the truth. And in order to not face that, he takes the hardest decision. To commit suicide.

On the laughing thing, I notice when I'm feeling a swell of extremely painful or overwhelming emotions, my knee-jerk reaction is to laugh because it gets mixed up with crying. It's not an intended reaction, but it's an unwanted side effect of brain damage. I've watched this ending more than a few times, and when I see this entire end sequence on either choice or even just listen to My Time when I come across it, I laugh. A hollow and empty laugh from a broken pain response that corrects itself to ugly tears when it goes on further. Omori is the most emotionally testicle-shanking horror game I've ever come across, the endings especially so, is what I'm saying.
The way he walks with his friends in his dreamscape up to the top of the building before jumping, like he was holding on to that image of them and how they saw him so hard he couldn't bear to part with it so he took that fantasy with him into death. It really is very tragic and as the player I kind of just wanted to stay in that dreamscape room and listen to the calming music and silly noises of all the fun things to interact with in the world, but then the game pulls you back into that dark reality that you have to face and does so with such a dark and whimsical song. Overall, it is devastating and I think they did a really good job at immersing you into Sunny's feelings but even still everyone reacts to things differently.
"one step forward, ten steps back," I think perfectly describes mental recovery in most situations. Whether it's an eating disorder, a drug addiction, or self-harm, it seems like a massive tipping point once you begin to make progress, but you don't know which side of the fence you're going to fall.
i thought that i was SUPPOSED TO LOSE to omori in the last battle,, so when i clicked no and sunny and omori hugged i thought, “awh he forgived himself for what he diddd” then seeing sunny disappear, omori winning, and sunny jump off a building broke my heart so bad

my first time listening to My Time was 6 years ago when Omori's trailer was released. I was obsessed with the song, looped it over && over && over. when I heard it finally in the game... everything changed. this is no longer the same song it was to me.

The reason i get so emotional with this game is because ive lost multiple people to this feeling before. It really portrays trauma right and the 5 stages of grief. When one of my best friends committed suicide i wanted to stay positive, look on the bright side, and be happy. When it happened again, i completely broke down and couldnt function; every thought was plagued with guilt so i shut myself out from the world. I had started to heal from my second friends death, and start taking care of myself more till around december last year. I was happy, i had friends, school people who cared. But then one of my closest and most caring figures in my life passed away and i just went numb. Omori is a game where you can tell It’ll break you because its true and it happens.

it's not the secret ending, it's the bad ending. The secret ending is where omori visits Basil at the hospital then both of their monsters started to disappear.

SPOILER (INTERESTING DETAIL I NOTICED WHEN COMPARING THE BAD AND GOOD ENDING TOGETHER) What I personally find the most disturbing about this ending, is that if you have gotten/seen the good ending before this one, you'll notice when Sunny walks out of his hospital room to the hallway that he can either go up - where Dream Kel, Aubrey and Hero runs off to - or down - where Dream Stranger/Basil goes (as the good ending wants you to go to). If you instead choose to go up first instead of down in the good ending, Sunny will come to a door. If you click on the door, Sunny will just shake his head, like he is saying: "I'm not going that way, I'm choosing real life this time for good, no more fantasy and lucid dreams chasing" and you can only go back down to Basil's Room. Now even if we don't see Sunny/Omori exiting his hospital room to the hallway in the bad ending I like to imagine that he does, as we see in the good ending, but instead, he chooses to go up (following his dream friends), through the exact same door, out to the balcony and finally jumps - to forever be with his dream friends.

I think the cannon is if you get the regular ending, you’re friends don’t forgive you, but if you get the basil one, sense it hints at it, you’re friends do forgive you, and you’re happy. But all of the other one you either die or just have it bottled up inside you forever-

Sunny at this point sees suicide as his only escape, so he likely feels some excitement about the prospect of finally being absolved of his guilt and grief. Him rotating to the beat I think is meant to insinuate all of that.
*This ending is Dark af* Sunny couldn't against his own trauma demon, all the guilt and pain so he decided to kill himseslf, leaving Basil devastated and still afraid to reveal the truth, the gang with eternal pain, Basil might kill himself as well, followed up by Aubrey, which probably will face the same fate for all she did to Basil, leaving Kel and Hero for lifelong dispair but not only them, Aubrey's mother, the hooligans, Sunny's family, Basil's parents coming back home just to see his son dead and all the people who left flowers at Sunny's hospital room
THIS ending is the one that fucked me up it’s literally so tragic I’m so upset that this ending even exist bc sunny finally comes face to face with the truth and confronts basil and then he just jumps I hate how basically every ending as well besides the true one ends up with basil and sunny killing themselves
Even the best ending doesn't necessarily guarantee Sunny won't get depressed again at a later point in his life and decide to take his own life then. Living with depression can take a long time for some and it's implied Sunny will always have to deal with his feelings about Mari's death and his part in it.
with this ending i feel like the music and backgrounds is what goes through sunny's mind. at first it's normal, falling down. he's quiet. almost like a shock thing, where it felt good at first, but then the background changes and sunny begins to realize what the hell he'd just done, and he goes through moments of panic. the first color change being a lead up to the peak of his panic, where he knows there's no turning back as the world changes around him. and then it dies down, which could possible represent some sort of acceptance. he knows he's gonna die, and he's the one who let this happen. it's clear at first that he doesn't like this idea of jumping to his death, as when you click "no" at first, you end up being forced to say yes after hesitating. tl;dr: the music and background changes represent states of panic
I really like the restraint the game shows. They could do a bunch of FNAF style screams for every jumpscare like when you look in the mirror, but most of them are quiet, making you think of it more and not just be like "oh that was loud and shocking." Same with this scene where they don't show him hit the ground. It would be an irrelevant scene that is not part of the story being portrayed here.

Basil didn’t believe sunny would do something like that so he blamed it as something ‘behind him’ which led to basil’s Hanging idea, he was extremely upset when he heard sunny was leaving faraway town because in a sense sunny is abandoning him, leaving him with the guilt and pain of everything that happened, also because he did everything for sunny yet he was gonna leave. Once basil finds out sunny has committed sewer slide by jumping off the tower? Meaning Sunny really left him forever? This bitch is gonna commit no life.

saw this in another video so I thought I should put it here 6:53 the screen goes black and the background is headspace, the building isn't *tall* Sunny just died at 6:53 your brain functions for a few minutes after death, so his brain tried to bring him anything that could help him survive, yet Sunny had be isolated in headspace for so long that's all his mind could think of
This feels like the most realistic ending in my eyes. Sunny has been trapped in his own imagination, hiding this grief and fear and guilt, for 4 whole years. You can’t undo all that in just a few days. There’s no way, realistically, I could ever see Sunny winning that fight against Omori.
A good point that someone made somewhere is omori doesn't really get beaten, sunny "accepts" omori, making him become absorbed into sunny and letting him take over once and for all to face reality. Obviously it doesn't mean he's instantly happy again, he's just happy that he was finally able to tell the truth about what happened and have the burden of the truth lifted from basil and his shoulders
All people are different. As an adult, i really can't see myself shaking off the guilt and shame that would eat away at me after what I did to my own sister, especially after 4 years of dissociation, repression and the creation of a whole other fake world. But sunny is a character of a teenager- a young boy, quite reserved but deeply loving towards his friends. They are his biggest weakness (he doesn't want to hurt them, doesn't want to disappoint them, doesn't want to lose them- so much so that he'll push reality and all his emotions away) but they are also his biggest strength. I think the hope he carried to open the door to meet Kel, was just the hope he needed to quell "omori" forever. It sounds too good to be true, but that's the point. For that one spark of hope, the hope that he and his friends will get to move on and be happy, Sunny creates a miracle.
Well actually he kind of forgot what happenned and locked this memory in black space and omori was supposed to protect Sunny from the truth. The Once he remembers, in the bad ending he can't defeat omori so omori takes over and eds his life because he wasn't ready to tell the truth but if he didn't he would live his whole life with the heavy burden of not telling it. In the good ending he realises that what matters is to tell it. Not his friends' reactions. Also in that couple of days he had to overcome his three phobias. And that is something he should be proud of. He can think about it and think "I've overcome my biggest fears. I can't just abandon now! Not when they still need to know the truth! Not when Basil and all of them needs me alive!". In the good ending he is ready to know and tell the truth. And yes I know it's a short amount of time but that's what makes him my favourite character of the game.
The song over the credits starts simple enough, but devolves into pure insanity, and it's the perfect way to end this route. Really shows how traumatized Omori/Sunny is at this point, and just how unhinged they are after all they've witnessed.
For anyone wondering, the building is about 2860 feet tall. Measuring from the bottom, it takes about 70 frames for the pattern on the side of the building to get from the bottom of the screen to top, based on this video, and the whole falling sequence is 1 minute 43 seconds, starting at 6:10 (technically 6:09, if we are doing partial seconds) and ending at 7:50. So, 103 seconds. So, 103 Seconds Times 30 frames = 3090 frames, divided by the 70 frames it takes for the building pattern to reset is 44. Each building segment has 13 squares, which are about the same size as Sunny (lets say 5 foot), so 2860 feet.
Really happy they didn't abandon My Time. Was the very first thing I saw when I was introduced to Omori back in like 2013. If anything, its really what I believe encapsulates the entire game and concept, for better or for worse. Its just so damn fitting, to have this slightly carnival-esque unnerving waltz, framing the dream world as a place of wonder to really be a place of loathing. Its just so damn good for this game.
The worst part about this ending is imagining the deep psychological trauma this would inflict on Kel, Hero, Aubrey, Basil, and Sunny's mom. They were just starting to heal from Mari's death, then this happens right after they reconnect with Sunny.

Obviously its interpretation which is left to everyone, but I feel like its much simpler. Omori, blackspace, and whitespace was formed from guilt of, killing his sister, lying to his friends, and indirectly destroying his friend group. Letting omori win, is succumbing to guilt (letting omori take over) and killing yourself, while sunny is facing your problems as the shadow says, and telling your friends the truth, allowing your guilt to disappear
Knew it was about depression because he committed suicide and there is a pattern in depression where the victim says everything is ok before committing suicide or getting free of depression
Given what we see in the good ending when Sunny wakes up (his Headspace friends going up to the roof, Sunny/The Stranger going down to Basil’s room) and what Omori makes Sunny do in one instance of the neutral ending, I’m chalking this up to Omori forcing Sunny into this either as sleepwalking or asserting himself as the “Main” personality after Sunny’s defeat.
I think this is a very elaborate ending to the story. Having now embraced his true life, Sunny now has to let go off his dream fantasy, and the fight with Omori represents that. It's only by overcoming your own past mistakes, just as you do with your phobia of spiders, water and heights, you need to overcome the very source of all of it, yourself. The persona you created, it needs to be erased, they both cannot exist at the same time, and this ending shows off just what happens when the latter wins over the original, finally taking complete control. In Omori's head, there was but one thought, to go back to his dream world and live there forever, and what better way to do so than this? There would be finally nothing to fear or come in his way, not a need to wake up in the "hell" of a world that was real life, a happy time that would last for eternity, never to be woken up again...A true, Hikikomori. Also to all the people who're putting spoiler tags...Why...You are literally commenting on a video about the game's ending...As an extra though, it'd have been really interesting and a pretty slight yet cool touch if after the endings rolled instead of putting you back, it'd have a black screen that would last for some seconds with the text: "Omori has succumbed" A little hint at the fact that even if Sunny couldn't get him to, he now finally has.
Everyone’s talking ab Sunny falling but is no one gonna talk about how creepy the music is here 5:20 since it’s slowed down than usual??? It creeped me out at first and seeing Sunny falling made it even more heart breaking
Tbh this feels much more of a True ending than what people usually call the True ending. I'd rather call the "True ending" the Perfect ending since everything goes perfect. But I doubt everything in life would go perfect for Sunny since many things hint that Sunny had to face Omori multiple times before, and after losing, multiple new Headspaces were being destroyed and created. Sunny never succeeded before. So why would he succeed now? When the game asks if you want to continue think about when you are in a bad situation and you think whether or not you want to do something to improve. You want to improve but you cannot make yourself do it, because you are too lazy, because you are too weak and because you are a coward. Sunny's fears are still present and at full strength, he can't beat them. Just wanting to forgive himself won't make him forgive himself. After such experiences I am surprised Sunny didn't kill himself right after he killed Mari, he did an impossible task. But forgiving himself is even harder, especially after seeing how much suffering he caused to Aubrey, Kel and especially to Hero and Basil. The situation in the "do you want to continue?" scene makes totally sense if Sunny kills himself. Why would the situation make 180° turn and make Sunny forgive himself at the end of his suicidal thoughts? (Omori tells Sunny many things that would make sense in a suicidal context so I will go with it)
Id say given the fact that he'll be moving soon. Sometimes outside forces can affect a person's will to do something, even if they couldn't do it before. Sunny has been running this loop of facing omori for 4 years, but as of recent, he is about to move. About to leave the place of his trauma, about to have a fresh start somewhere new. In a subconcious sort of sense, it can compel him to face omori before it's time to move on to somewhere new. If he doesn't admit it now, he may never be able to tell the truth, not to mention basil. It seems that each iteration of his adventure involved saving basil, so it seems he knows basil can't do what's needed without him either. With so mant outside pressures, it can cause someone to do what wasn't possible before. I find the good ending to be the true ending because I believe it's fully possible that with all these pressures put on his mind, he can finally have the motivation to face his fears like he never has before

How an object's height can be defined by the time that an object falls from it times gravity's force, which is 5, this falling time means that Omori's hostpital is at least 25,000 meters high, and as the average height per story is 3m, the building has at least 8,333 stories. By comparing the opening years from the highest buildings in the world, the previously highest building in the world opened 5 years before the actual highest building. Following half of the building increasing rate, the year a building such as the hospital could exist is 7614, and by following the actual building increasing rate, the year such hospital is possible is in 2035. This means that the game Omori probably passes between 2035 and 7614. I believe it's more in the future because the elevator to reach such high stories will need to be extremely potent, and also the existence of houses in a time with elevators like the hospital's, plus the space imagery from Otherworld, Omori's fall and Capt. Spaceboy means that space colonies are probably a thing. So Omori is a sci-fi game and I can convince my friend who is a Star Wars nerd to play this game. What this ending means in the story is that Sunny doesn't want to face what he has done, so what he does is kill himself by jumping off the building, making him stay in his own dream world where nothing ever happened and stays there as Omori forever, thus killing him.

I got 2 different endings on my game, both of them were bad endings and none of those were this one, in one of them omori goes with the phantom to his mom's car, and in the other one he kills himself with a knife, so i guess your theory is true

I don't actually think Sunny died. This theory is far out their but still,
So for the majority of the time Sunny is falling at ~19 Meters per second. Terminal velocity on the other hand is about 60 Meters per second. So I think the hospital had a history of people jumping off or something and installed drogue shoots to the slippers that would deploy after some sensor is triggered. The reason they only put drogue shoots in the slippers is because it's too small of a space to put main chutes. The reason we don't see them is because the threads holding the chutes are really long so people who didn't see Sunny falling might see the chute, and if they do see the chute or Sunny someone could put a massive inflatable pillow or something at the landing area. But because of what happens in the bad ending, I don't think Sunny was noticed in time so an emergency parachute or airbag system deployed from his clothes either knocking him out or blocking his vision. This would explain the gun sound as one of the drogue shoots cables which would make that sound if they were under enough tension and the speed of him falling sharply increases for a while before a backup drogue shoot deploys. It would also explain why he doesn't immediately go back to 19 Meters per second probably because the chute was programmed to open slow so his leg doesn't get yanked off leaving a main shoot deployment so much worse (especially if the main chute is programmed to open almost instantaneously because as I said earlier it would be used in emergency situations where Sunny isn't noticed fast enough) or leave the airbags useless. This theory would also explain why the voices in Sunny's head are muffled after his rapid descent because while the backup drogue shoot deploys slowly, it's probably not slow enough to prevent him from almost being knocked out to being knocked out entirely.

@lasagna boi personally, the knife ending, but not because of the suicide itself, but because of the consequences that suicide will bring to your family and friends. Your mom will end up witnessing two of her children commit suicide (its possible that she knows that Mari's death was not a suicide, but its neither confirmed or denied in the story). Basil will die either way if you don't intervene, meaning your friends will more or less witness two deaths in the same day. Aubrey blames herself for Basil's death, and its going to hit her really hard.

This might sound a bit wrong but, i've always like this ending the most. The atmosphere, the twist and the music all fit perfectly. It's not the shock of sunny jumping off, but everything perfectly encapsulates the slow feeling of regret as you sit there watching the credits.

Honestly, I’m surprised some people’s reactions to sunny falling was to laugh. I know they don’t mean it in a malicious way but for me, it felt gut wrenching to see the split second of him falling downward.
The thing is, both endings where he commits suicide or tells the truth does make sense. A lot of people suffering from depression can be on the road to recovery. You’ll watch and smile as you realize they’re becoming happier. But with every recovery, there is that one last final step. That final step is the most hardest step to take when recovering. And some people can’t handle it and aren’t ready to take that step. So they take ten steps back and it’s horrifying to watch.
It’s horrifying to watch someone you know, who you thought would finally be happy, slowly restarts.
And some people even take extremely drastic actions such as committing suicide because they can’t handle doing that final step.
That final step for sunny was confessing his sins to the ones he loves dearly. That fear of losing all that he has left overcame his will power to recover. And the only solution left besides recovering was to end it all. Which he ultimately did in the bad ending because he just couldn’t fight back omori he couldn’t fight back against his fear of losing everyone once they learn the truth.
And in order to not face that, he takes the hardest decision. To commit suicide.

I notice when I'm feeling a swell of extremely painful or overwhelming emotions, my knee-jerk reaction is to laugh because it gets mixed up with crying. It's not an intended reaction, but it's an unwanted side effect of brain damage. I've watched this ending more than a few times, and when I see this entire end sequence on either choice or even just listen to My Time when I come across it, I laugh. A hollow and empty laugh from a broken pain response that corrects itself to ugly tears when it goes on further.
Omori is the most emotionally testicle-shanking horror game I've ever come across, the endings especially so, is what I'm saying.
The way he walks with his friends in his dreamscape up to the top of the building before jumping, like he was holding on to that image of them and how they saw him so hard he couldn't bear to part with it so he took that fantasy with him into death. It really is very tragic and as the player I kind of just wanted to stay in that dreamscape room and listen to the calming music and silly noises of all the fun things to interact with in the world, but then the game pulls you back into that dark reality that you have to face and does so with such a dark and whimsical song. Overall, it is devastating and I think they did a really good job at immersing you into Sunny's feelings but even still everyone reacts to things differently.
"one step forward, ten steps back," I think perfectly describes mental recovery in most situations. Whether it's an eating disorder, a drug addiction, or self-harm, it seems like a massive tipping point once you begin to make progress, but you don't know which side of the fence you're going to fall.
I always get this weird feeling of laughter whenever something bad happens, I thought it was weird too!

The reason i get so emotional with this game is because ive lost multiple people to this feeling before. It really portrays trauma right and the 5 stages of grief. When one of my best friends committed suicide i wanted to stay positive, look on the bright side, and be happy. When it happened again, i completely broke down and couldnt function; every thought was plagued with guilt so i shut myself out from the world. But then one of my closest and most caring figures in my life passed away and i just went numb. Omori is a game where you can tell It’ll break you because its true and it happens.

What I personally find the most disturbing about this ending, is that if you have gotten/seen the good ending before this one, you'll notice when Sunny walks out of his hospital room to the hallway that he can either go up - where Dream Kel, Aubrey and Hero runs off to - or down - where Dream Stranger/Basil goes (as the good ending wants you to go to). If you instead choose to go up first instead of down in the good ending, Sunny will come to a door. If you click on the door, Sunny will just shake his head, like he is saying: "I'm not going that way, I'm choosing real life this time for good, no more fantasy and lucid dreams chasing" and you can only go back down to Basil's Room.
Now even if we don't see Sunny/Omori exiting his hospital room to the hallway in the bad ending I like to imagine that he does, as we see in the good ending, but instead, he chooses to go up (following his dream friends), through the exact same door, out to the balcony and finally jumps - to forever be with his dream friends.

Sunny at this point sees suicide as his only escape, so he likely feels some excitement about the prospect of finally being absolved of his guilt and grief. Him rotating to the beat I think is meant to insinuate all of that.

Even the best ending doesn't necessarily guarantee Sunny won't get depressed again at a later point in his life and decide to take his own life then. Living with depression can take a long time for some and it's implied Sunny will always have to deal with his feelings about Mari's death and his part in it.
with this ending i feel like the music and backgrounds is what goes through sunny's mind.
at first it's normal, falling down. he's quiet. almost like a shock thing, where it felt good at first,
but then the background changes and sunny begins to realize what the hell he'd just done, and he goes through moments of panic. the first color change being a lead up to the peak of his panic, where he knows there's no turning back as the world changes around him.
and then it dies down, which could possible represent some sort of acceptance. he knows he's gonna die, and he's the one who let this happen. it's clear at first that he doesn't like this idea of jumping to his death, as when you click "no" at first, you end up being forced to say yes after hesitating.
tl;dr: the music and background changes represent states of panic

I really like the restraint the game shows. They could do a bunch of FNAF style screams for every jumpscare like when you look in the mirror, but most of them are quiet, making you think of it more and not just be like "oh that was loud and shocking." Same with this scene where they don't show him hit the ground. It would be an irrelevant scene that is not part of the story being portrayed here.

Basil was the one who witnessed mari’s death, Sunny and basil took Mari upstairs thinking she was ok but she really was just dead. Basil didn’t believe sunny would do something like that so he blamed it as something ‘behind him’ which led to basil’s Hanging idea, he was extremely upset when he heard sunny was leaving faraway town because in a sense sunny is abandoning him, leaving him with the guilt and pain of everything that happened, also because he did everything for sunny yet he was gonna leave. Once basil finds out sunny has committed sewer slide by jumping off the tower? Meaning Sunny really left him forever? This bitch is gonna commit no life.

This feels like the most realistic ending in my eyes. Sunny has been trapped in his own imagination, hiding this grief and fear and guilt, for 4 whole years. You can’t undo all that in just a few days. There’s no way, realistically, I could ever see Sunny winning that fight against Omori.
A good point that someone made somewhere is omori doesn't really get beaten, sunny "accepts" omori, making him become absorbed into sunny and letting him take over once and for all to face reality. Obviously it doesn't mean he's instantly happy again, he's just happy that he was finally able to tell the truth about what happened and have the burden of the truth lifted from basil and his shoulders
All people are different. As an adult, i really can't see myself shaking off the guilt and shame that would eat away at me after what I did to my own sister, especially after 4 years of dissociation, repression and the creation of a whole other fake world.
But sunny is a character of a teenager- a young boy, quite reserved but deeply loving towards his friends. They are his biggest weakness (he doesn't want to hurt them, doesn't want to disappoint them, doesn't want to lose them- so much so that he'll push reality and all his emotions away) but they are also his biggest strength.
I think the hope he carried to open the door to meet Kel, was just the hope he needed to quell "omori" forever. It sounds too good to be true, but that's the point. For that one spark of hope, the hope that he and his friends will get to move on and be happy, Sunny creates a miracle.

Well actually he kind of forgot what happenned and locked this memory in black space and omori was supposed to protect Sunny from the truth. The Once he remembers, in the bad ending he can't defeat omori so omori takes over and eds his life because he wasn't ready to tell the truth but if he didn't he would live his whole life with the heavy burden of not telling it. In the good ending he realises that what matters is to tell it. Not his friends' reactions.
Also in that couple of days he had to overcome his three phobias. And that is something he should be proud of. He can think about it and think "I've overcome my biggest fears. I can't just abandon now! Not when they still need to know the truth! Not when Basil and all of them needs me alive!".
In the good ending he is ready to know and tell the truth. And yes I know it's a short amount of time but that's what makes him my favourite character of the game.

The song over the credits starts simple enough, but devolves into pure insanity, and it's the perfect way to end this route. Really shows how traumatized Omori/Sunny is at this point, and just how unhinged they are after all they've witnessed.
For anyone wondering, the building is about 2860 feet tall.
Measuring from the bottom, it takes about 70 frames for the pattern on the side of the building to get from the bottom of the screen to top, based on this video, and the whole falling sequence is 1 minute 43 seconds, starting at 6:10 (technically 6:09, if we are doing partial seconds) and ending at 7:50. So, 103 seconds.
So, 103 Seconds Times 30 frames = 3090 frames, divided by the 70 frames it takes for the building pattern to reset is 44. Each building segment has 13 squares, which are about the same size as Sunny (lets say 5 foot), so 2860 feet.
Really happy they didn't abandon My Time. Was the very first thing I saw when I was introduced to Omori back in like 2013. If anything, its really what I believe encapsulates the entire game and concept, for better or for worse. Its just so damn fitting, to have this slightly carnival-esque unnerving waltz, framing the dream world as a place of wonder to really be a place of loathing. Its just so damn good for this game.

The worst part about this ending is imagining the deep psychological trauma this would inflict on Kel, Hero, Aubrey, Basil, and Sunny's mom. They were just starting to heal from Mari's death, then this happens right after they reconnect with Sunny.

Obviously its interpretation which is left to everyone, but I feel like its much simpler. Omori, blackspace, and whitespace was formed from guilt of, killing his sister, lying to his friends, and indirectly destroying his friend group. Letting omori win, is succumbing to guilt (letting omori take over) and killing yourself, while sunny is facing your problems as the shadow says, and telling your friends the truth, allowing your guilt to disappear

Well you could say that death is the ultimate dream. One where you never wake up from again. Omori gets what he wants in the end.
I think this is a very elaborate ending to the story. Having now embraced his true life, Sunny now has to let go off his dream fantasy, and the fight with Omori represents that. It's only by overcoming your own past mistakes, just as you do with your phobia of spiders, water and heights, you need to overcome the very source of all of it, yourself. The persona you created, it needs to be erased, they both cannot exist at the same time, and this ending shows off just what happens when the latter wins over the original, finally taking complete control. In Omori's head, there was but one thought, to go back to his dream world and live there forever, and what better way to do so than this? There would be finally nothing to fear or come in his way, not a need to wake up in the "hell" of a world that was real life, a happy time that would last for eternity, never to be woken up again...A true, Hikikomori.
Also to all the people who're putting spoiler tags...Why...You are literally commenting on a video about the game's ending...As an extra though, it'd have been really interesting and a pretty slight yet cool touch if after the endings rolled instead of putting you back, it'd have a black screen that would last for some seconds with the text:
"Omori has succumbed" A little hint at the fact that even if Sunny couldn't get him to, he now finally has.

Tbh this feels much more of a True ending than what people usually call the True ending. I'd rather call the "True ending" the Perfect ending since everything goes perfect. But I doubt everything in life would go perfect for Sunny since many things hint that Sunny had to face Omori multiple times before, and after losing, multiple new Headspaces were being destroyed and created.
Sunny never succeeded before. So why would he succeed now?
When the game asks if you want to continue think about when you are in a bad situation and you think whether or not you want to do something to improve. You want to improve but you cannot make yourself do it, because you are too lazy, because you are too weak and because you are a coward.
Sunny's fears are still present and at full strength, he can't beat them. Just wanting to forgive himself won't make him forgive himself.
After such experiences I am surprised Sunny didn't kill himself right after he killed Mari, he did an impossible task. But forgiving himself is even harder, especially after seeing how much suffering he caused to Aubrey, Kel and especially to Hero and Basil.
The situation in the "do you want to continue?" scene makes totally sense if Sunny kills himself. Why would the situation make 180° turn and make Sunny forgive himself at the end of his suicidal thoughts? (Omori tells Sunny many things that would make sense in a suicidal context so I will go with it)
Id say given the fact that he'll be moving soon. Sometimes outside forces can affect a person's will to do something, even if they couldn't do it before. Sunny has been running this loop of facing omori for 4 years, but as of recent, he is about to move. About to leave the place of his trauma, about to have a fresh start somewhere new. In a subconcious sort of sense, it can compel him to face omori before it's time to move on to somewhere new. If he doesn't admit it now, he may never be able to tell the truth, not to mention basil. It seems that each iteration of his adventure involved saving basil, so it seems he knows basil can't do what's needed without him either. With so mant outside pressures, it can cause someone to do what wasn't possible before. I find the good ending to be the true ending because I believe it's fully possible that with all these pressures put on his mind, he can finally have the motivation to face his fears like he never has before

Sunny, or Omori bc Sunny vanished, fell for 1min and 40secs. How an object's height can be defined by the time that an object falls from it times gravity's force, which is 5, this falling time means that Omori's hostpital is at least 25,000 meters high, and as the average height per story is 3m, the building has at least 8,333 stories. By comparing the opening years from the highest buildings in the world, the previously highest building in the world opened 5 years before the actual highest building. Following half of the building increasing rate, the year a building such as the hospital could exist is 7614, and by following the actual building increasing rate, the year such hospital is possible is in 2035. This means that the game Omori probably passes between 2035 and 7614. I believe it's more in the future because the elevator to reach such high stories will need to be extremely potent, and also the existence of houses in a time with elevators like the hospital's, plus the space imagery from Otherworld, Omori's fall and Capt. Spaceboy means that space colonies are probably a thing. So Omori is a sci-fi game and I can convince my friend who is a Star Wars nerd to play this game.
