    Love the lacing. Great tip about the silicone in the middle to keep the hole resin free. I have recommended your video to another artist. Thanks for sharing.

    YAY you are speaking.... so happy 😀 it helps me understand what and why with your choices. It also helps me connect with you more. I think it will help you get more subscribers to your beautiful channel. ❤️
    You are and skills deserve to be seen by more people across the world 🌍
    It’s like patting your head and rubbing your tummy to start with but it’s gets easier and you learn to edit out the bits where you forget your being recorded lol well I do. Lots of bloopers in mine 🤪
    Glad to hear other resin artist have trouble with there tools breaking with resin sticking to it. Mine is normally my blow torch 👀
    Beautiful effects and depths again. You always end up with a clean elegant piece. Nearly 200 subscribers also YAY ❤️
    Peeling your tape off the back is great I use that. The minute you get resistance apply more heat 😎
    Thanks for sharing looking forward to you next video.

    HA, I resined my torch shut from constantly grabbing it with sticky gloves. Gorgeous gorgeous result you have there! I've tried those 7 inch basswood Walnut Hollow clock bases and they warped terribly when I painted them on one side. I stick to the birch ones now. I find your choice of resin very interesting. There's no WAY one can lay the resin side down like you did and not end up with a lot of dents if you use Art Resin or the other craft epoxy resins on the market. And I love the effect of the Stone Coat. I may need to change tack with my clock ideas. Thanks for doing this video, and the lovely sounds of crickets in the background!

  • @tammyandersonart

    First off , beautiful piece. Secondly, those Le Rez caps drive me insane lol. I have such a hard time getting them back on. Lastly, that black does it leave pits in the surface? I'm thinking weather it's silicone or not they must add alot of something to that paste for it to cell up like that.

    • @DebraSmithArt
      @DebraSmithArt  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't gotten any pits with the Stonecoat base colors. I have used white, black, red, silver, and buttercream. No problems with any. It smells as little like some type of oil additive. No clue... but it works!

      I typically use Pro-Marine Supplies Epoxy. It's not odorless, but i's not bad. I haven't found any that are odorless yet. I may just be so used to it that I don't smell it anymore. Plus if you wear a respirator, no smell.

    beautiful piece! I have two questions: 1. Why did you first pour the transparent resin, and then black and color? Why not just pour black? 2. How did these beautiful cells come out?

    • @DebraSmithArt
      @DebraSmithArt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I poured the clear before I had really established a plan in my mind. It would have been fine to just pour black without the clear resin. The cells were a byproduct of the black base tint from Stonecoat Countertops. When a pigment with a higher density is moved over the black it floats to the top, creating the cells. Thanks so much for watching!

    • @juliarazy9692
      @juliarazy9692 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DebraSmithArt thanks for answering, but I don't understand what is meant "a pigment with a higher density". How can I determine which pigment has a higher density?

    • @DebraSmithArt
      @DebraSmithArt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Stonecoat base tints are lighter than the all other pigments. I think it contains oil, based on the smell, and that causes it to want to float to the surface instead of sink like the other pigments.
