I've been a ONEUS fan since 2019 and I'm so happy they're finally getting the recognition they deserve 🥲🥲 The previous RTK was hell and just painful to watch so I'm happy they're winning and getting praise because their skills & presence are something else!!
TBF I really liked Hwanwoon from the previous RTK as well. The LIT performance was amazing. It definitely made me bias Hwanwoong.
The part where Cravity is hyping Hyeongjun up so he'll be the ace again was really cute. I totally agree with you: if it was anyone but Hwanwoong he was against, he would have won 100%
for once in a survival show, i felt the top 3 winners are exactly where i expected them to be (TNX, younite, and cravity). like damn, they totally devoured ep. 3. it's interesting how a lot of the teams have been either 1st or 2nd place before, but the ranks fluctuate a lot----so no one should ever feel comfortable w their ranking cause anyone can easily take it back (except hwanwoong's ace title LOL)

I feel so bad for TheCrewone. Their companies really set them up bad putting them on a show where being a team is so important, and their time together as a team has been significantly shorter than the rest.
As I'm almost certain they are getting eliminated, I urge people to check out JustB and ATBO. They've got some bops, and Geonu and Junseok are truly the aces of their teams and deserve much better 😭
yeah they are performing just as a dance crew. lack some theatrics or own flavor. I dont see them using their numbers in creative ways (all member doing the same thing in choreo most of the time) to their advantage.
In my opinion, I don’t think Kako formed this group just for Road to Kingdom they definitely have bigger plans in mind. But RTK was such a great opportunity that came their way, and they really made the most of it. It allowed the members to connect, learn about each other, and work on finding their team identity. Without Road to Kingdom, would they have bonded and built that teamwork as quickly? Of course they are lacking compared to others teams but I don’t even think kako goal was to make them win the show. Their main goal is to build teamwork gathering fans and let the world now about this project. Trust me their performance will get even better with each round also they haven’t got eliminated yet so that is an achievement for them they are still there and I hope they will be able to reach the final.

i fully agree with everything you said about the tco performance lol. i kind of don't know why they chose seunghwan as the ace if they weren't going to make him the focal point? he's been my bias in atbo from debut so i was so excited to see him as the ace especially on a tbz song but it fell flat for me since it didnt feel like they really wanted to emphasise him as the ace. i feel like geonu wouldve been a better choice given how he really carried vocals and did the flashier stunts
I hope you got a chance to see the Vocals MV cuz Oneus/Seoho ate that as well (Junhyeok/The New Six cover of Untitled/G-Dragon was damn good as well). Apparently, Yeonjun is ‘friends” (Jagiya) with someone in CRAVITY and he recommended their doing Sugar Rush Ride (TXT famously announced they don’t like that title track so anyone can have it haha). So glad CRAVITY went straight to the killing point and the tableau at the end was so perfect, it made the girls in the audience weep. But yes, I’m with you, The New Six was my #1, I watched all the MVs of that performance for days and had that song stuck in my head. PNation took advantage of the hype, dropping member content the whole week. MNET Plus, still, no subs.
Side note. Was this round secretly Halloween theme? Cause why was everyone’s concept based on horror/action movies or supernatural themed? Except 8turn maybe(but I could argue that it takes inspiration from Joker/the Purge). Like we got zombies, vampires, multiple forms of demonic possession, mental illness, and I guess the kingsmen are there too lol.

I am HERE for the hourglass hate, that clunky thing is NOT cool and i have no idea wtf it's supposed to mean, like it just appears at the beginning and reappers at the end and they just keep flicking it over and over??
also fuck hybe bc i wanted those covers, I actually like the original songs but the bite me and sugar rush ride rearrangements were incredible
The hourglass theory represents the journey of both teams coming together. People focused on the hourglass but missed the significance of the sand color. In their first performance, black sand symbolized the dark times and struggles of being separate groups. The broken hourglasses and transition to white sand represented overcoming those challenges after uniting as CrewOne. In the second performance, the red sand shows the transition between dark and bright times. Seunghwan being bitten by Jimin symbolizes how the two groups are now influencing and changing each other. Flipping the hourglass at the end signifies a fresh start and new chapter. In the upcoming performances, the sand may change to colors like yellow or green, symbolizing the teams bonding and finding their identity and for the last performance I assume the white sand is likely returning to mark the completion of their journey
I think it's because in previous Kingdom seasons, most groups have had a story line throughout their entire time on the show and in every performance (especially their company senpais The Boyz). TCO is probably trying to do the same.
@@Icedtea6305I like that lore, but from the perspective of being on a show the group has to realize viewers may not know the lore and will therefore be confused. The amount of people who will look it up is like 0% unfortunately
@@boodledemic6430 Honestly, from what I’ve seen with other groups, their concepts mostly rely on movies and villainous characters. I mean it’s great to take inspiration from films,dramas, etc., but I feel it would have been even better to include more of their own story with those themes. I don’t really see many teams doing that except for The Crewone who is trying to convey their own team story in every performance or maybe I missed the others stories. It’s sad that many people didn’t understand the meaning behind their performance, but it’s really not that hard. Just watch the performance with attention to detail everything from the dance formations, choreography, background pictures, instrumental, and even their facial expressions tells the story. I don’t see it as a complicated lore that no one can understand, but I guess people don’t always focus on the performance itself 🤷♀️

I totally agree that Eunsang should have been the ACE, younite was predicted lowest ranking at the beginning, but with one performance, even though they have the least fans, they got some of the highest votes, that is pretty much a miracle, everyone is pushing for more popular teams to win like Cravity and Onesus, with 300-400k views per video,even as a Younite fan orig, I was surprised that this miracle happened, that the audience was really blown away and voted fairly and not based on fandom. I could really see Eunsang put everything out there, his whole heart, I think protecting his team made him really desperate to prove them wrong. Doesn’t it take a lot of heart when everything is really against you but you fight back and prove them wrong.

holy crap i decided to watch hwanwoong's solo performance separately, after i saw the praise u gave it, and.. WHAT it's unironically so good, so artistic, like it's not something you would expect an idol to do but some kind of professional contemporary dancer in an exhibit/contest WHAT
but also there is a LOT of jesus imagery in that performance, and korea has a lot of christian culture, so i wonder if they meant to do that (i mean it's really cool)
I don’t think Juyeon sabotaged. He was trying to tell them what they need to do to get ahead, how to think. On RTK, they won because they had smart performances, a stong sense of identity, and incredible stunts that made sense. Though, tbf, this is not the same show or same competitors.
BUT!! The CrewOne are trying too hard to be TBZ. That’s why they want to use the hourglass, as a prop that will keep their performances on a single timeline/universe. But a prop doesn’t give you an identity. It’s clear they don’t have their own identity. You can’t be on RTK without a clear sense of identity.

Younite had a more interesting concept which basically won all of us BUT HOW IS 8TURN LAST OVERALL 😭 I gotta watch this week's performances to understand that BUT IF THEIR PERFORMANCES ARE MUCH BORING (which I feel like it may be, except for Cravity I guess), then I have no idea what were the audiences thinking 💀

I was surprised that Oneus chose NCT bc I feel like their vibes are just polar opposites so it was pretty jarring to me when they performed Kick It (Fr tho of ALL the NCT songs like 😭). I think they would’ve found a better fit in smthn like Favorite or even Fire Truck, but Kick It is just… a no from me 😔
I’m not going to blame Seunghwan because I can see he was doing his best. The thing is, everyone else in this team is just so good. The issue with the ace idea was Mnet’s fault. Even in groups where the ace really stood out, the overall group performance was weak because they only focused on one person, making the rest look like backups. In the CrewOne’s case, everyone performed as if they were the ace, but the actual ace didn’t shine the most, so the performance felt lacking. If the ace concept wasn’t there, the Crew One performance would have looked much better and wouldn’t have received that kind of backlash. I would honestly prefer if mnet want to keep that ace rule they should make them perform separately like on the first episode
