Honestly in that draft format it wasn’t a bad pack at all which is a big part of what this show is. Above all big ups to you for sending it in, I would but I’m crippled by the thought of letting go of what could be inside
Complaining about the maaka's eyes and the scuttlegator's eyes when the Jace funko pop is on screen feels like you're not complaining about the right eyes.
I think the card Graham was thinking of was Biogenic Upgrade, which I also initially thought he was talking about when he read off Applied Biomancy's name. A lot of Bio- names in the set with Simic.
I love the flavor text on Concordia Pegasus as well. Especially since Graham was also digging on the Simic later. “What makes a frog lizard any worse than a bird horse? Prejudice against the Simic, that’s what. It’s unfair!” -Thados Arquef, Guardian Project biomancer
Hackrobat mention! Hackrobat is my favorite card, as a Melanie I'm fascinated by how effective it is at accomplishing exactly what it wants to accomplish in so many different ways! The perfect little aggro card.
Scuttlegator was actually decent in any blue control deck and even some of the Simic go big decks. Dude hit like a truck when you got him going and stemming the aggro deck wasn't too difficult, but closing on it wasn't always easy. The format often went long. High alert decks not being able to attack, Dimir spinning it's wheels sometimes. It happened. Orzhov thrull masks tend to be one size fits all. That's not Ward. It's very relevant how different it is. Ward gets blown out by things being uncounterable. This doesn't let you cast it in the first place.
Someone check the Nickname episode for Allegiance. Was Growth-Chamber Guardian's nickname either Lucky Luciano or some variant on "you know I had to do it to em"? Because if not, we have failed as a community.
I don’t think it’s a bad thing to compare mechanics to Kicker. The expression originally comes from R&D themselves about Kicker and Split Cards being essentially the most basic forms of “pay more for more” and “this mode or that mode”. They also don’t mean it literally that mechanics are “just” kicker.
Graham wins _Crack-a-Pack_ again; *Gate Collossus* is 1st pick, esp. if this is pack 1. Pack 2 you should also take, unless your path is SET and SPECIFIC. Pack 3....1st pick it if you suspect someone is ON gates already as a hate pull.
The "all mechanics are kicker or split cards" argument is funny, but it fundamentally misunderstands that in game design you just make logical rules. Logic has two basic operators. And and or. Kicker and split cards are the two most basic interpretations of and and or. It's just that simple. But most mechanics use and and or in some way. That's just because rules are a system of logic. It is inevitable that most mechanics are änd/or" mechanics because that's how game rules work So I understand you feel the need to push back gently against the notion. It's misleading.
Hey, that's my pack! Sorry it wasn't better, but glad to see it opened! Hope to see y'all in Chicago again soon!
Send them a better pack next time, you schmuck.
I'm gonna take that as "I'm glad that you were able to get the cards out of the pack, undamaged and unblemished."

Good job, baby girl!
Because of the MTGA drafting I can't think of this set as anything but "Ill-Gotten Inheritance" VS "Clear the Mind" VS "Persistent Petitioners".
+ Gates

Funko Jace: 👀 O¬O👁👁
One of my favorite flavour texts in MtG is on this edition of Concordia Pegasus.

the best (possibly the only?) show on TH-cam that will consider the tense that the thanking/outro is done in
I only now noticed that Scuttlegator has a scale bird. Homie is massive.
I maintain that putting a blue Grizzly Bears in MH3 as the last vanilla creature ever printed would've been hilarious.
Also, let the Simic cook.
The Beej and Graham train vlog is a very good vlog; highly recommended. And also, Magic content is good too!
Ravnica Allegiance is to me the set that always feels like it shouldn't be as old as it is
I mean its kind of famous. I really enjoyed that train vlog.
Me too. I loved the train trip 😊
Amazing content as always. Loved the Jace Pop in the background of the cards. Thanks 💙
Delightful as always!

Unfortunately, it was christened "Squadron Hulk".
@@Haights WE HAVE FAILED AS A COMMUNITY
honestly my favorite draft format
It's neat to watch an episode where everything watches you back 👀 I never noticed how, uh, awful Scuttlegator's eyes were. So thanks for that
Yeah, Graham had that same realization on one of the previous packs of Ravnica Allegiance.
Crossing my fingers for Pateramander round 3 ‼️‼️‼️ 😤
I can never not call those cards french vanilla until the end of time

Every mechanic is Kicker or Horsemanship.
It's famous to me. I really liked that amtrak vlog

Carrion Imp? Carry 'em where?
They did put a vanilla creature in Modern Horizens 3. It's called Jyoti, Moag Ancient.
?
None of their effects do anything in draft. So might as well be vanilla in limited.@@NStripleseven
Just got passed that in draft.
This cluestone/keyrune slander must be stopped! Triple Dragon's Maze was hilarious.
Keyrunes were dope, but Cluestones deserve it

Please, return 25$ budget paper clash!😢
Finally, a rare that's decidedly NOT made for Commander! Makes up for Guardian Project getting printed in the same set.
They still make plenty of rares like that.
