I bought the Alex Murphy edition immediately after finishing the demo and I absolutely don't regret it. My only real criticism is you can't pet the kitties and that makes me sad.
people are so happy about Robocop cause this is the way games were the last time many of us remember... feeling less cynical about the industry. It used to be that you got a game, and experienced that concept play out, it seemed like the best games were all wildly different from each other. Many unique experiences. But things have become so homogenized, and optimized to crowdplease... This game knows what it is, who's buying, and what theyre here for.
The Rambo game was just as ambitious but they didn't have the resources and weren't given the resources to do it they didn't have the technology and videogames that tried to do things like that cost too much to make and most studios didn't want to spend that much on games now that they were able get the technology and everything they needed now they were able to make their games as ambitious as they want if they redo Rambo it will be great
Its actually insane how close they got to not just how the movie felt but actually visiting the set of RoboCop 2 gave me a unique perspective on the RoboCop movies and I've never experienced that again since the early 90s and this game has that its difficult to explaim but its there and thats pretty incredible
There is so many tiny unnecessary details in this game, I love it. My favorite is when you let the Graffiti artist go as he pleases, you'll start seeing pro-robocop graffiti turn up here and there.
I love the little detail of the guy getting thrown out of the window, where he lands being covered up, as if there was an airbag there for a stunt guy to land on *chefs kiss*
I like how when you move you actually feel and hear the weight of Robocop and even the movement and Rotation is robotic like and not like typical FPS snappy~
I love how the subtitles for the anchor at the beginning say “confused sailors,” vs. the “confused seamen” he actually says. And yeah, Dan O’Herlihy - OCP’s Old Man, as well as Conal Cochran in “Halloween 3” - died several years ago.
Now that Teyon has gotten so good at semi-open licensed action RPGs about 80s robot boys, their next game had better be Short Circuit: Rogue Suburb or something.
‘Time to see what’s hiding in that metal head of yours.’ Robocop: “Woah, welcome to my personal space.” I want one of his quips to be, ‘my lifestyle determines my deathstyle.’ “No ma’am, it doesn’t hurt me physically, but emotionally, it is devastating, i am in an unrelenting mental hell. Not even sleep will soothe me.” I hope there are Stunt jumps for Robocop to hit. Robocop: “I kick ass and eat baby food, and i’m all out of babby food.”
We urgently need a Judge Dredd game and this game deus ex lite structure just feels like training to do so. Lets hope. I actually i think they went backwards on the models, they felt better in UE4 Resistance, maybe its inexperience with UE5.
Actually I thought about Judge Dredd after a few minutes of the Robocop shooting footage too. So meaty and dynamic, it simpky SHOULD work in the Dredd's universe!! ^ ,^
This looks better, for what it is, then many much higher budget games do, for what they in turn are doing. If that makes sense. Also the music hit as I was writing this and GOD DAMN 😊
I was already interested, but this video got me to buy the game. Spent the whole weekend playing through it. It’s got some jank to it, but the gunplay is so fun and the way Tayon captured the feel of the movies so perfectly completely outweighed any problems I had with it. Absolute must play for a Robocop fan
Not gonna lie, I never watched Robocop but i LOVE the Deus-Ex style menus and investigation work, this is great stuff, I'm gonna get this in future! Thanks for showing it off Matt!
This genuinely makes me want to see Teyon take another shot at making a Rambo game. Imagine what they could do if they actually had some proper creative control over the license this time around.
Just the fact that they got ACTUAL Robocop himself Peter Weller to reprise his role after so many years automatically makes me love the game even more. The guy has such an iconic voice, I don't even think it can be replaced ❤
I’m so happy terminator resistance wasn’t a fluke and they nailed the hell out of robocop, even more suprised how satisfying and destructive all the weapons feel. Only nitpick I have in the few hours I spent is I wish the fast walk was faster in the hub areas robocops tank speed is fine in combat but when you’re exploring it can be a tad slow esp if a side mission involves backtracking.
28:42 If I had nickel for every game I played that takes place in a dystopian Detroit that you explore in hubs, and has a point-based upgrade system that encourages you to explore your surroundings for more XP, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
You must like this comment or there will be, trouble... I usually do not watch gameplays, but I'm totally love the way you impersonate the characters. Teyon absolutely needs to make a Predator game. This game has a lot of heart.
What should they do next? Obviously a judge dredd game because if the movie dread isn’t getting a sequel then use the script if there is one and base it off that and hire Karl urban for voice over and likeness or if that’s to expensive at least his likeness. I think that would be awesome and the predator would be a good idea like you said.
I just want to say that the Robocop character has legs. You doing him is funny and he could pop up in any video. Just saying, I’m not an expert, I am, I’m not. Also you are the only person I watch playing games, so you get…. 7/10 which is a lot.
When people take hostages you should get a slowed down time QTE like those ones in Spider-Man where you drag the stick into the circle and then press a button, in this case to pull of some sort of shot to save the hostage. That would just make a lot of sense to me, and I think similar QTEs may have been used for hostage rescuing in other games, too.
I don't know if there's a game in it but how about if Teyon takes on Highlander? Critters? You scrap against them until the end where you get the alien gun and start blowing them away? They Live? Or another Roddy Piper movie Hell Comes to Frogtown? Tremors? Stealth crafting, like the Terminator game. Buckaroo Banzai? Be a Blue Blaze Irregular and find out why the melon was in the press.
This desperately needs a new game plus and a level select. It’s criminal they didn’t include a level select at least. There’s not nearly enough xp to get all skills and I’d love to play again, but not with abilities from scratch
I'm not even a huge robocop fan, I remember it from my childhood days, but this game is just is epic, so wholesome. Im more excited for this then that Spiderman 2 I played last month.
With the release of Kong, Gollum, and The Walking Dead. I'm so happy how this game looks and plays. One of the few licensed games that are actually playable in 2023.

This just makes me wish we had another Judge Dredd game. Hell, the licence to the comics is owned by Rebellion, so I'm surprised we haven't seen more. Dredd in general is just such an underrated franchise, especially the early years of the original comic where it was more of a tongue-in-cheek satire.
@@maybetoby It was a multiple group project. Different groups tackled different scenes. Last I checked the whole thing was still online for free. I highly recommend checking it out!

So, fun fact, apparently one of the sound effects they used was a watch alarm. I'm only guessing this because every time the notification went beep beep I kept checking my watch by reflex 😂.
