Hard to imagine someone like Ivan with such a well-rounded kit and near spotless skillset is the "worst" of the LB Kings. When I first saw him 2 years ago I thought "How can they make someone so perfect?" That goes to show how broken all of these LB Kings are.
Still trying to get him in NA. Hope Myst does, too.
Ok, I know Odysseus isn't the real lb5 king, but i would still argue he's worse. But yeah, compared to Skadi, First Emperor and Arjuna Alter...

Imo Ivan (i repeat imo) is better than Arjuna Alter because he offers a lot more than pure damage (Buff Removal atk down Buster resistance down)
That said this doesn't matter if you're able to finish the fight quicky with Arjuna Alter
In the long run, Ivan is really better. Cant keep berserkers forever.

When I first got him in JP: Meh.
Now: *He's so THICC*
Can we also talk about the fact that he and Antonio Salieri are like made for each other? They both generate 10 critical stars per turn for 3 turns with thier innocent monster skills on a 5 turn cooldown. They both have the same exact deck type (BBAAQ) which makes their deck very consistent. Antonio’s low critical star absorb due to his class allows Ivan to soak it all up. They both have above average attack for their class and star rating. And to top it all off, they are both on the same banner together! I ship it!
Salieri is a bit more of "above average attack for his star rating" he is the 3* with the most attack of the game
I'm extremely grateful he came to me when i try to get Salieri, but now i'm in bone hell... again. The man sure need a lot of calcium for his huge body.

I love how you never mention Merlin and Waver in the team comp section because they go with everything. I won't be rolling for Ivan since I have Ozy, Quetz and Drake, but he's definitely a great pick up.

I knew him two years ago and I am very impressed by his design and his skills. I like him so much that i used his CE bond for my homework. I will roll him for next few days so wish me luck.
I remember showing a friend who doesn't play Fgo a side by side of Ivan and Ereshkigal and I asked him: "Guess which one is the tank."
Imagine being the Giga Chad that is Ivan, a 12 foot tall wall of muscle just to take less punishment than a 5'2 Blonde Rin.
I get that's not his purpose but I always found the concept of a Rin being tougher than this embodiment of testosterone hilarious.
Ivan's a great Rider, and I wish I could roll him.

Uh, playing Mario Party 6 over netplay was my catalyst and I got him my first single, even was a rainbow roll.
Me: **Looks at the SSR/SR Servants in my Chaldea that are sitting at Lvl 1 due to me being poor on Embers.**
Also Me: "He's a giant elephant-thing, Imma get him.
Still Me: **Gets him second 10-Pull I try, but can't get Ana even after blowing 300 SQ**
Conclusion: Ana hates Ivan. Shocker, I know.
@XVII I'll just have to rely on either her spooking me at a later date (since she gets added to the general summoning pool after this rate-up) or maybe when there's a Caster-focused summoning I'll try for her there. She looks like she'd be a great Arts DPS Caster and similar to Da Vinci in that regard, though not as NP spammable.
I'm saving up for Battle for New York. Gonna get Gil and his CE hopefully.

You really should consider mentioning iskandar as support as he has a 3T NP, crit and ATK buffs, not to mention he drops stars with NP and gives DEF down.

Medusa is my only max out 3 stars servant. She helped me a lot against Anastasia but she whooped me and i had to use 1 SQ to defeat her

Bruh same with me and my grailed Vladzerker, he was my first ssr that I got a week after playing in June. Everyone said he was shit at the time but I used him all the way through Babylon and he carried his weight just fine.

@@hashimalz he's mostly fine, but people call him bad because he is truly terrible outside of Arts teams because of his shit NP gain. In arts teams though he is a solid general dps with some utility in the form of star bomb and charge drain. He is also quite durable for a Berserker because of his guts.
Still, most of his issues were solved by his Strenghtening in JP, his NP gain now is extremely good and he can even solo stuff because of the layered Guts

He is s or ex in my opinion. Goat of rider. Great skill, excellent np gain (after skill), decent aoe damage, good crit star generator thanks to decent hit on quick, riding ex, and innocent monster, very versatile thanks to aoe buff removal and self buff removal, good survival thanks to invincibility. Excellent dps when u pair him with buster support. What could possibly go wrong?

I'm late to this, but for support servants, Tamamo is exceptionally good to run with Ivan for longer fights. Her skill set and NP compliment him perfectly if you treat him like an arts servant. Only thing missing is stars which you can get from some other source like Merlin

Actually I roll for Salieri and I do not want Ivan because I got Rider alter, yet I got him. However, after I watch your review, I kinda relieved. Thanks.
He's SO FREAKING COOL! I'd LOVE to roll for him but I really just can't justify it. I have like, 200SQ and I'm gonna save most of that for bigger targets later in the year. Shame though, Takaya Kuroda does an OUTSTANDING job with his voice.
I rolled a pack this morning for Salieri. I only got Salieri to NP2 but I got Ivan as well! I like how he dwarfs my other servants. I have Ozy and Drake but he may become my main rider if hes as strong as you say. I use Buster teams and Arts teams about 50/50 so he will get some use when I am going with Buster. I'm just dreadfully short on QP and embers for leveling right now.
This banner that features Ivan and Salieri was one I waited a long time for. On my main account I wanted Ivan since I needed a good Rider, and my alternate account needed Salieri since it did not have an avenger. Of course, I rolled Ivan on my alt acc, and got Salieri .x4 on my main acc. RNGesus hates me lmao

Are we not going to talk about how pairing him with Hans and Leo, (both of which are 2 stars) generate a suffocating amount of crit stars as well as taunting enemies to Leo and away from Ivan and Hans. Take note that when Hans gets his buff he can target Ivan with it and make Ivan have even more np gain, as if it wasn't good enough before lol. My team comp which is all low stars minus Ivan does tremendously well and for F2P if they got an Ivan or have one on their friend's list, they can easily build around him without needing SSR or SR. Didn't think of Nero Bride when building his comp, but that's a great idea. I filled the back line with a Merlin for obvious reasons, but Eggplant is also there for her overall amazing skills and np which can pair amazingly with Ivan.
Edit: Forgot to mention that you missed an amazing CE for Ivan, which also works well for King Hassan. The CE is Pharaoh's Xcoatol. It gives 15% buster buff, 15% np strength, and 15% np gain.

I've only used him once and that was for QP farming on the door dailies and I paired him with Ozy and Quetz and boy did it work
As much as I love Inskandar and Drake(and soon Achilles) , this big guy is Best Aoe rider for me, he rides a mammoth and has the pointy hat 🙃, also he's a beast in Gameplay

He was a buster Servant who could fire his NP on back-to-back turns _on his own_
Even with as prevalent as the Skadi meta is in JP I still frequently find myself reaching for this big boi. Another good unit to pair him with from my experience is Iskander, especially after Iskander gets his second skill buffed. Post buff Iskander is able to offer Ivan an attack buff through Charisma and both a 3 turn NP and crit buff through Military Domination Tactics. Given that these buffs stack multiplicatively with Ivan's own Innocent Monster skill it leads to some very impressive damage that you're able to keep up for most of the fight thanks to the low cooldowns.
But pairing Ivan with Iskandar will lead to them fighting over who will get the stars though? Since none of them got star gather buff.

He spooked me during Salieri summoning. Salieri never showed but he did! I actually needed a aoe buster rider. Im happy. It wont be optimal but he will be supporting my Quetz.
He was my most anticipated servant of 2020! Got him grailed up to 100 already! Now all I need is more damn stingers to finish off his skills!

I spent the 12 tix and 180 SQ I had saved & scraped toghether for Ivan, and no dice. MP 4 Salieri, Np 2 Nitocris, and NP 1 D'Eon and Siegfried.

Bad news: I had to spend another 100 SQ just to get Antonio.
Compensation was that I was spooked by Kiritsugu and Moedred, so it wasn't all that bad

Ivan the Big (Overlooked) Boi
The Tzar has arrived at my Chaldeas. I like to think when he calls the Shadow Border a quaint living space, he's annoyed that its not designed with his nine-feet tall yaga(?) ease of use in mind in mind. Also, that Salieri rate up feels like a lie. 12 tickets and 270 quartz begot One Ivan, one Salieri, three of every other three star, and NP6 Assassin of the Nightless City.

I see so many people saying how they got him accidentaly from burning tickets for saliery, and then there's me burning over 400sq to get gramps on jp. Feels bad. Well, at least I got every SSR I rolled for since the start of the year

He actually does very well with someone who can provide him with extra stars and gauge. Stick him with a Merlin/Waver and Eresh and he’s a great main DPS, with Eresh appreciating the Buster buff.

A solid, nasty team that can pump out consistent face melting damage.

Just got spooked by him on a single roll, in the same week I maxed out my np2 drake skills, I got farming to do!
This banner is broken as hell, I just wanted to NP 3 Salieri and ended up rolling 129 SQ and 15 tickets to get 2 Ivans 1 Arjuna 1 Tamacat and 1 Salieri after all of that, today I wanted to try to get him at least to NP 2 so I did 3 single pulls = Nito and Salieri
Made a YOLO 10sq roll and accidentally grabbed Ivan. Thanks for the guide

I feel like Ivan is the Pinnacle of what DW was trying to go for in epic of remnant, but done right. Which is to make a balanced servant. But instead of having severe drawbacks and detriments or gimmicks tied to their skills they give Ivan a just well rounded skills with average stats to compensate
This ends up making I've been a more enjoyable and usable servant
Oh and one more thing that everyone needs to remember. Please don't ever use Jing ke's Np on him. Let's just say you will see something extremely frightening that will make you go OUCH.

I'm debating on whether or not to roll for him.
On one hand I don't have any AOE buster Riders besides Santa Salter and I think one more servant, plus his skills are really neat and from what I've seen of the other playable LB kings, they're all broken in some way and worth rolling for.
On the other hand, I have Maid Salter and a fully grailed Rider Kintoki, so I don't really need more Riders (if I get more I'll gladly take any new ones).
Plus I really need to save up for Summer BB cause I've been looking forward to her for 2 years.
As for my question, I got Kiara during that recent DL banner she was on, and I'm considering grailing her, but she's only at NP1 so I was wondering if she's worth grailing or if I should wait until I possibly get her to at least NP2 🤔
1.) I don't think you should roll for him. You already have 2 quick riders so just save for Skadi who will be coming soon.
2.) Rule of thumb: if you like a waifu just grail her, it's just like 1.5k bonus stats so it doesn't matter that much, it mostly matters with low rarity servants because that effectively gives them like a permanent 20% atk buff. You can get 1k or more atk or hp by just getting a mlb 5* ce to lvl 100 + you can use that ce on any servant you want. From a gameplay perspective if you're gonna use her a lot and if you put her in a Tamamo comp to deal with her long ass cooldowns, then sure why not
was def luckily to get him since i only had marie and anne+mary for gold rider, just need to level him up now. But im sure i will hear in a few weeks time that i should have saved for Achilles XD

Saved up some gems so I could do a 30 roll for the Ivan banner. Wasn’t really expecting much after coming off of spending way too much money on the Berserker banner, despite Ivan being one of the units I wanted the most when I first started playing.
