    Based on this video, it looks like organs on a chip is the extension and combination of cultured cells. I'm not an expert in biology or engineering so it gets me wondering why this wasn't the alternative for cultured cells in the first place. (Is it because organs on a chip requires highly advanced technology?)

      The major consideration on organ chip is co-culturing of associated microbiome along with the typical tissue cells.

      its insanely interdisciplinary and working knowledge of biology or engineering isnt enough theres physics, chemistry, material sciences and coding that goes into making the microfluidic device. Theres also different ways to 3D culture that need to be considered
