      Tteok is less of a "T" sound and more like a sharp "D" sound.

      When you master that, could you then also pronounce unveil correctly? it's veil like what a bride has in front of her face, sounds a lot like "vale". You pronounce it as veal as in reveal. Not trying to be offensive or rude, just a minor mistake I've noticed after watching a boatload of your videos haha.

      American Cheese is real cheese. Essentially, it's just cheddar with extra ingredients that make it melt better and keep it from coagulating easily, which you can make yourself by melting cheddar cheese in milk with sodium citrate. Cheese that isn't cheese would be imitation cheese, vegan cheese, and ricotta.

      I kinda wanna make that challenge. I took classes in baking back in High School, and while I usually resort to boxed batters, I think I dan go grab one of my many cook books and make some twists to a recipe from one of those. I actually kinda wanna try my hand at Pies, since I’ve usually gone for spongey dishes like cakes. And I got a GREAT new recipe to test from the D&D themed book, Heroes’ Feast. Might make a spin on that recipe.

    The fried rice sounds like a dish Megumi would make, because of the comfort it would bring, as well as its lightness but I believe that the tteokpokki would possibly be a Yukihira style, especially since chef Paul put a slice of American cheese on it (come on what's wrong with you😑😂) as its vibrant, spicy, and offers more of a powerful impact in eating. You win this one Paul hands down.

      In Korea they use American cheese all over the place. One of the best things to put on top of army stew. American cheese is severely underrated IMO and needs more love, it can be just as good as some cave-aged premium cheese in the right situations.

    The fried rice looks a little easier for beginner chef me that doesn’t have all the ingredients or knife skills for planar veggies. Thanks to the challenger Mike & Mr. Chef PK for encouraging me so much and giving me skills to strive for in the kitchen! It makes me wonder what Paul would do to address the need for a bit more depth of flavor on the fried rice.

    chef, your barbacoa tteokbokki recipe is actually reminiscent to a traditional non-spicy tteokbokki recipe made with julienned veggies and soy sauce called gungjung tteokbokki (궁중떡볶이). the gungjung tteokbokki was actually served to kings back in the day also :) not sure if this was your inspiration for the battle, but i’m really impressed with what you created!

    The third judge just explained in the real world what Erina meant when she said that Souma's beef stew was not good enough for a Shokugeki battle and that he would be crushed by Mimasaka with that recipe: the problem being it was too mellow, especially with the white miso, as it was meant for regular clients to eat again and again over time not to give you a kick in the face with every single bite.

    Wouldnt adding flour or some type of starch help make that sauce? Sure, that's a lot of water, but a bit of a rue would help make a sauce

    you know the fried rice is legit when chef makes sure the wok hei is there... tip: double seal the sous vide bag on both ends to avoid any accidents.

    I feel that the Fried Rice could have been better with a poached egg instead of a fried egg. Also with the idea of brightness for the Fried Rice, since it is barbacoa/barbecue, I feel that you could have added lime or lemon juice on the meat itself before or after incorporating it into the rice.
